After a single lesson one hour online lesson, I was able to sew a full three piece suit! Ok... so not really, but I did get a solid introduction to my sewing machine, a decent overview of how to get it set up, and suggestions to proceed to build my skills. Sarah was very patient, knowledgeable and easy to work with. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking to learn how to sew...

I am an experienced sewist who was interested in taking my skills to a higher level. I don't have the time to attend classes or start from the beginning or midway with a group. Sarah offers exactly what I need. Taking private lessons is such a great use of my time. I bring a pattern along with the fabric and she walks me through the process. For me the challenge is understanding the patterns.Sarah is very experienced and is able to translate the patterns and articulate the steps in ways I understand. We have made some fantastic bomber jackets, jeans, fancy coats and very creative vests. Sarah has a terrific personality and she's a pleasure to spend time with. It's like having a special friend who has all the answers to your questions!

When I met Sarah, I was relatively new to sewing. I could re-attach a button, but was fairly clueless about how to use sewing patterns and operate a sewing machine. I had such a wonderful time learning how to do both with Sarah! In the process I made several infant dresses and a dinosaur costume for my daughter. The skills that Sarah taught me will last me a lifetime, and I look forward to using them for years to come.

Sarah offered me a super fun experience while trying to create head gear for my grandson, who was to play Pumbaa in a school production of Lion King. I've been sewing for years, but needed extra guidance for ear placement, sizing, etc. Sarah had some great ideas and we pulled it off with the fabric I'd brought. She also had some stellar ideas for a snout and whiskers, but my grandson (a TWEEN) didn't want to wear a snout, too bad for him. It would have been SO cute.
Sarah is a delight to work with and from the minute you enter her home, you know there is boundless creativity in her mind and in her hands.

I'd recommend Sarah to anyone who needs help with simple or difficult projects. She can probably even instruct you from afar, in these days of social distancing.

I can only recommend Sarah. She is such a knowledgeable, sweet & patient teacher. I'm a beginner and never sewn before. She gave me exact details & how to use my sewing machine. During Covid 19 we are doing virtual classes vs in person classes which are excellent as well. I immediately can go back after class to sew what I've just learned. She has many ideas which is very helpful especially if you are a beginner. I will keep going back to get more classes with her.
