Very helpful and knowledgeable! He diagnosed my problems over the internet, told me what parts I needed and where to get them, then offered to send me videos on how to do the repairs myself. I declined that, though. I'm not very handy. So he came out and did the repairs, showing and telling me what he was doing all the way through. Now all works great! (Reasonably priced too, and very personable!)

Had a review for Scott up about 2 years ago, but somehow it got deleted. I think he's very deserving of good reviews so I wanted to re-post it:

Scott came by to fix our washing machine. The machine was filling with water and wouldn't drain--the drain pipe was clogged. I didn't formally meet Scott today, but my roommate did and she said Scott did a 10/10 job! The price was low, he came right on time, and he even gave us some future advice.

Scott noticed that our washing machine door is a bit jammed. So he gave us a tip on how to successfully close the door every time. The door needs to be smacked really hard on the top of the door.

He also warned us that we have a gas dryer, which emits carbon monoxide. So when we use our dryer, we must always ventilate the apartment. Rlly good to know!

Scott providing excellent service on our DCS stove and was very affordable. Over the years, our stove kept developing problems with the ignitors. They would keep clicking even when lit, or would fail to light.

The Big Box store warranty team had no idea what they were doing, so over the years, they came out and replaced the electronic control board several times. It was a very complicated repair, and only solved the problem for a few months at a time.

Then, we had more skilled appliance service companies come out, and they carefully dismantled and cleaned the ignitors. They got them working, but said it was too complicated and would not come back out. Two years, and of course some spill-overs later, the stove needed the same, precise cleaning.

Scott came exactly on time, and did an exceptional job doing a very detailed and precise cleaning in half the time/cost of the prior company. Along the way, he made a video and showed me exactly how I could clean the stove myself next time.

Scott was great to work with and I highly recommend him.

Scott is awesome! I've been meaning to write this review for months after Scott offered me some free and super helpful advice. My oven suddenly stopped heating up a few weeks before the holidays and I began what I feared would be a lengthy and costly process to find someone to repair it. I reached out to Scott and he quickly responded and confirmed what I suspected: my oven just needed a new igniter. He then provided me with links to replacement igniters and to video tutorials for what ended up being a relatively easy fix. Thanks, Scott!

My review here does not apply to Scott's ability as a fix-it guy. This is not something I can comment on as our appointment did not go through.
Rather, my issue is his lack of professionalism in scheduling.

We had reached out to Scott regarding an issue with our washing machine. He responded with a video, but being the un-handy people that we are, my husband and I requested an in-home appointment to repair our washer. Scott agreed, and we scheduled for a week later, as he had nothing available on his calendar.

During the week I had to lug all of our laundry to the laundromat (I know, first world problems), so by the time the weekend came we were looking forward to our Monday appointment. My husband also took the day off so that he could make Scott's availability in the mid-afternoon.

The night before our appointment, Scott emailed to ask for our address, which we advised was in Alameda. Mind you, when we booked the appointment, his coverage area indicated El Cerrito, Albany, Berkeley, Emeryville, Oakland and Alameda. Scott then responded that he doesn't cover Alameda, and that he wouldn't be able to service our machine. When we advised him that his Yelp profile included these cities as coverage areas, he said that he would need to change that to reflect only El Cerrito and Berkeley. That's it - no offer to make an exception since the appointment was made the prior week, no explanation as to why he didn't confirm our location when making the appointment, no apology for the time off that my husband had to take from work to make his appointment - nothing.

The only upside is that Scott did offer us two referrals who may have availability the next day (hence the 2nd star). Thankfully for us, they were both responsive and we ultimately selected a fantastic repairman based out of Walnut Creek to come by the next day. I'm happy to pass along that repairman's contact information if anyone is interested.

He was very friendly and gave me useful information when using the washer and dryer.

I had gotten a consultation from another company listed here on Yelp, a highly rated appliance repair company who sent a guy to assess my noisy clothes dryer. It's a GE dryer, stacked on top of my GE washer, inside a closet. The guy took a look at it, referred to his smart phone for additional information, and then said it would cost me about $350.
I took a couple days to think about it. And then I called Scott. Scott fixed everything for less than $100. Scott is friendly and knowledgeable, fair and professional. Next time an appliance causes me trouble I'll be calling Scott immediately. I can't recommend him highly enough.

So I contacted Scott by email to find out his availability. He instead provided me with info that allowed me to save a ton of money and fix the problem myself. I honestly cannot think of a more honest thing a repair person could do! Seriously... While he could have told me that it was too difficult to repair myself (and it wasn't easy), he instead helped me figure out what the problem was. I researched the part online and ordered from a parts shop that allows returns. I told Scott I would attempt the repair and if it didn't work I would need his service. He said no problem and keep him updated. Thankfully it worked!

Other technicians said they couldn't come out for weeks and would charge a minimum of $250 for 1 hour of work, plus the cost of parts. Scott is the most honest repair guy I have ever interacted with. In his email he asks if his help works then to please donate to his coffee fund. Which i happily did.

Read negative reviews here closely and look at the number of reviews the person has done in total. In Scott's case, they should be ignored as sniveling whiny jerks who want blood from a turnip. I know who I will call the next time I need a repair guy!

My washing machine wasn't draining and Scott totally saved the day. Super honest and let me watch him do the entire repair, walking me through the process and answering all of my questions. He even took a look at my dryer and cleaned out a lot of the lint that had collected inside the machine, blocking a lot of air flow.

Really trust him and would definitely bring him back next time I need an appliance repair :)
