Shama Thai Massage

Wow, the best massage I have ever had, I live far but I would gladly drive here for the deep tissue massage.

- environment : clean space, smells good, quiet, the temperature in the room was not too warm or cold. Music wasn't too loud or distracting. The hot tea at the front was so tasty, it was truly a relaxing experience.
- location: right by downtown Burlingame, easy parking. nice restaurants and coffee shops near by
- massage: i had a deep tissue massage and they really worked hard to get the knots out of my muscles, I am writing this the next day now and I am not sore but felt less tense. The pressure was on point, and the speed was just right, didn't feel like she was rushing at all
- staff : everyone works there was very welcoming. No complaints

Had a spontaneous yet wonderful experience today at Shama Thai massage.

I have been experiencing some pain in the arch of my foot for a few months now and have been meaning to give it some attention. Earlier this morning I decided I needed to get foot reflexology done. I had asked a friend if she knew of any places and she recommended shama thai and they sure delivered!

I was able to book a same day appointment which I was very grateful for. I ended up treating myself to 2 services (working in construction takes its toll). The 2 treatments: 1 hour foot reflexology and 1 hour traditional Thai (per the person who had set up my appointment, she was very helpful). The price for both were more than reasonable.

Lexy was my masseuse and she did a fantastic job for both the reflexology and traditional Thai massage. She was very attentive to the problem areas I had indicated with the front desk. She made me feel extremely comfortable and heard. We started off with the hour of foot reflexology and then transitioned into the traditional Thai massage. Her accuracy with pressure points was impeccable. I will definitely be setting up another appointment in the near future for physical maintenance/ self care ‍

My massage was with Wan was relaxing. She did wonders for my back and shoulders. I would recommend coming back.

Wan takes you to another universe and back. I don't even know who I am right now. My heart mind and soul are totally renewed after an internal and external thai style shake down. Thank you!

The quality of the massage is inconsistent at best. Today is not so great. I'm choosing to end it early. Lady in the front insists that I am leaving without paying. You guys have my card on file. The parking meter only allows two hours. I really have to get going at the end of these sessions. My name is not Danny. I've pretty much been Marcus my whole life and the entire time I've been your patron. What a stunning betrayal. One star out of five.

I've been working out almost 6 days a week. Of course this takes a toll if you don't counter it with another self care. Yoga and stretches aren't enough. I usually get deep tissue massage. For a change, I tried the traditional Thai massage. It didn't disappoint me.

We were relaxed and felt completely rejuvenated.

I have been in dire need of a massage. I am so glad I found Shama Thai - Rira is absolutely amazing and I could not recommend her more if you are looking for an authentic Thai sports massage for someone who understands how to apply pressure to the right spots.

When you first arrive, they will ask you to change into indoor sandals and also give you a laminated sheet where you can circle to them what your problem spots are as well as list preferences such as the type of pressure you want, whether you want to be walked on or not, etc. In the massage area, they will give you a traditional Thai outfit to change into.

I had booked a 60-minute massage and came out a transformed woman with my muscles completely relaxed and my body feeling more limber. Can't wait for my next visit!

I have a competitive athletic background and physically demanding job that regularly aggravate my entire body, especially my back and shoulders. I additionally have regular pinched nerves and slipped discs due to degenerative disc disease and foraminal narrowing in my spine. Because of these, I have been in and out of physical therapy, chiropractor visits, acupuncture, and I've been getting different kinds of massages on a regular basis for about a decade. These massages I've gotten include swedish, lomi lomi, sports therapy, hot stone, thai, and deep tissue. I am very particular on firm-stronger pressure and meaningful massage techniques and movement.

That being said, I've been to Shama a couple times where I got the thai massage each time, and they were easily the best thai massages I've received. Although the other thai massages I've received at different establishments were helpful and pleasant enough, none of them were by any means memorable. I committed to the 90 minute thai massage during my last visit and I'm very glad I did. The experience was very therapeutic, and I was able to notice a significant decrease in my general stiffness and back pack over the next few days. It even made my snowboarding trip that weekend more enjoyable by decreasing my regular chronic pain.

I'm bad at remembering names, but two that I remember are Poi (more than one interaction) and Zenon (from my last visit). Everyone there is wonderful, but they both have greatly contributed to my overall impression of Shama.

Would recommend therapeutic massage

I have been coming to Shama Thai for years now, and every time is a very great massage. Massages are something that I enjoy and I've been to many massage therapists, finding good ones is not easy.

There is a difference from the good and the great ones so if you find really good ones make sure to find their name and request them later!
