Generally, the customer service here is fine. Nothing spectacular, but acceptable. But today, I didn't have a good experience. I live steps from this station and choose to go here for snacks, gas, etc over the BP station across the street because there seems to be more of a selection. But today, as I am attempting to purchase my items, my card comes up as invalid. I had not put in a pin or anything, but the machine wouldn't accept my card. Not to panic, I went to the ATM in the station and my card worked. So, just out of advisement, I nicely suggested that they check their machine as these newer chipped cards, of which I have one, may not work with their current machine. Instead of just a simple ok I received a combative stern response of EVERYONE ELSE'S CARD IS WORKING. I attempted to explain that I was just making a suggestion, but the combative response continued. So ok. I was not trying to be critical, just offered a suggestion given that the ATM worked, but the machine didn't. The attendant continued to offer his suggestion in a combative tone and I then decided they couldn't get my service with that tone. Not because the machine didn't work (things happen), but his response was uneccesarily combative and clearly something had to be wrong if the ATM worked. Eventually, I took my business to the BP across the street. I swiped my card and low and behold it worked (not surprised). Being in the business of customer service as a senior manager at a college, the attendant could use some of my courses on customer service. I have been coming to this station for years, but today was the last day. Remember that people have options. With this, consistent good customer service is very important.

Closed at midnight even though website says 24 hours. Strange for service station off the expressway.

Last chance to get gas before hitting Chicago's EXTREME price hike. This place isn't much better, but it does suffice. It's right off the Austin exit. It competes w/another station directly next door to it. I usually only come in when in dire need such as today, my rides vehicle was almost empty & we stopped here to beat the Chicago prices.
