AMAZING food and price point! This casual dining spot is very much worth the hype built up on social media! My boyfriend and i got the peanut wheat noodles, pork and chive dumplings, hot and sour soup, and canned sweet team - which we doused in hot chili oil of course!! This all literally came out to $13 which is cheaper than McDonalds!!!! with the obvious plus of being better in food quality.
The service was fast and kind. We 100000% will be back here frequently!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 9, 2024
Remember to bring cash. Cheap place to eat peanut noodle and home made dumpling. The inside is filled with tables but you will need to clean up yourself before nd after meal.
I would only come here when I want to buy frozen homemade dumpling, $12 for a big bag. Peanut noodle was not impressive, but I think this place is amazing for offering this price in this economyHelpful 2Thanks 2Love this 0Oh no 0 - 32832Jul 26, 2024
Came here with a friend on the weekend and it was very busy! You order and then seat yourself. The ordering process is a bit confusing with the ordering line sometimes mixed into the pick up line. The place had a couple tables and each table had some sauces and chopsticks/utensils to use.
The dumplings were fantastic. Crispy and juicy and full of flavor. Would definitely recommend! The noodles were ok and could've used more peanut. It was pretty heavy on the soy sauce.
Everything is cash only and very cheap!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 30, 20241 check-in

I came here after it popped up on Yelp. We were in the area and I was actually heading for Vanessa's, which is down the block. After reading a few recent reviews, we decided to give them a shot. I found parking easily, as it was a Sunday afternoon. We definitely lucked out when we got there. There were only 4 people waiting to order ahead of us. By the time we finished ordered and got our food, the line tripled. It was pretty overwhelming, as I'm not a huge fab of crowds.
The dining area was pretty packed and there were many people standing around waiting for their order, and since it was our first time here, we had to ask a few people what they were doing in order to figured out that you order on the right and pick up on the left. The dining area was so packed that people were taking their trays of food outside to eat on building stoops, or they would change their order to takeout so that they could huddle in front of the restaurant and eat their food out of containers. It definitely felt chaotic.
Based on what we saw and read, I ordered the thick rice noodles with peanut sauce, which were OK. They definitely could have used more sauce because they were quite dry. I also got some steamed pork buns which were also OK. They weren't as filled as I would have liked but the flavor was good. We tried their steamed pork & chive, chicken & chive, and chicken & mushroom dumplings, all of which were a resounding, "OK". Not the best but also not the worst. The highlight of our visit was the fact that we were able to get fried dumplings, which are only available on weekends. They pan fry their pork & chive dumplings and serve them connected by a, 'lace skirt', which I love! The flavor significantly improves when fried. We got 3 orders of those alone, and I'm happy we did.
Of course, we asked for extra sauce. They're not skimpy on the dumpling sauce but the lady handing out orders acted like she did not want to give us any more of their chili oil, despite how much we ordered. The chili oil was very tasty but definitely could have had more kick.
All in all, I'm happy that we found this place. I would definitely stop by when in the area, but likely only on a weekend for their fried dumplings.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 1 - 289359900Jul 2, 20241 check-in
You wanna talk about no frills, this is the place lol. Came in just to try the fried pork dumplings on a little impromptu dumpling tour.
There was a bit of a line but they move quick, and my dumplings were out fast. They were just plopped on the plate but I'm not mad at it, they were super yummy. Definitely a good place for a fast, delicious meal but don't expect anything else.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jun 28, 2024
I've recently been reading The Snakehead and so had been wanting to do some more deep exploration of the Fujianese section of Chinatown east of Bowery. Workhorse Fujianese eateries are a dime a dozen along these streets, but Shu Jiao Fu Zhou has probably gotten the most attention from those outside of the community.
The peanut wheat noodles were not bad, but fairly basic. It's an affordable, simple and filling dish - there's not much complexity to the flavor, even with a generous portion of scallion on top.
I tried the vegetable dumplings, but did not enjoy the carrot-green vegetable filling and would not order again.Helpful 4Thanks 2Love this 1Oh no 2 - Aug 7, 2024
If you want cheap food in Chinatown, this is the spot to fill up at. They are cash only and known for their peanut noodles. I ordered the peanut noodles($3), pork and chive dumplings ($3) and the chicken and mushroom dumplings ($3). Everything was average to me - for having such cheap prices you also wonder what type of ingredients they are using. I wanted to dumplings fried but they all came boiled (easier for them to cook!). The noodles I thought were lacking in flavor and could have used more sauce. The dumplings kept falling apart and the soy sauce/siracha on the tables were all watered down. Not sure if I would come back to eat here as my first choice when there are so many other spots nearby. Great spot if you are on a budget, but I think I can afford better quality food and taste elsewhere.

What a deal! Found this place through numerous Instagram posts I saw. I got six pork and chive dumplings (#4A) for $3. The filling was definitely half pork, half chives. And I got the wheat peanut noodles (#5) for $3. Since I got it to go; it was a full pint of noodles. They were not overly peanut-y. It was so much food for only $6!
CASH ONLY
There was no line at 5pm on a Thursday. Once I ordered, it took about 2 minutes for me to get my food.
There are an ample amount of tables for dining in.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 963372208Jul 7, 2024
I was nearby and saw the amazing reviews of the peanut noodles so decided to give it a try.
Service: quick and pleasant. Cash only.
Ambiance: none... the smell there isn't great and you see people dumping their soups in this bucket, making the whole experience less appealing overall.
Food: I got the whole wheat peanut butter noodles and was very disappointed. Barely any flavor and just very meh - really unsure of the hype here. I won't be coming back.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 2
