Glasses usually take as soon 2 hours, if we have your lenses in stock. (single vision) and 1 to 2 weeks on more complicated multi focal prescriptions.

If you happened to see a poor review from me yesterday, I had the wrong store. My sincere apologies to Site For Sore Eyes.

I should have brought my glasses here to be fixed as they are 5 stars! Unfortunately I happened to be passing another shop that was open in the evening and just ran in to get a nose pad fixed/replaced. This proved to be a very poor decision because the other establishment broke my glasses.

Next time I will come here as I've always had great service when stopping in.

My husband and I were in and out in a short time. When the Dr realized that my mono-vision (LASIK) eyes were basically "hardwired". She said that there was no reason for me to have a prescription for driving as my eyes will fight it. I totally appreciated her honesty.
The reason I am giving them only 4 stars is that the web site it isn't initially obvious that you can sign up for multiple appointments. So I called, left a voicemail and never got a call back. So I decided to try the site again.
Note...a little different wording on the site would have resulted in a 5 star review

Had my first appointment at Site for Sore Eyes and the experience was very good. The doctor was punctual, friendly and knowledgeable. Danielle was a great help when it was time to choose my glasses and ordering my prescription. Overall, it was a great experience.

This is the best Optometrist I've found. I followed Dr. Joy Lam here. She used to be at Borel Eye Doctors in San Mateo and was so amazing I had to track her down (thank you internet!) and drive to Palo Alto which is not as convenient but worth it. You know when you find an amazing health care provider that really cares you need to stick with them!
She's an amazing optometrist. She really takes the time to listen to your needs. I needed different glasses for my laptop (while watching TV), driving glasses and reading glasses and then some special ones that I can use for computer monitors at my desk while also reading close up.
There is easy parking a block away in the Webster / Cowper public parking garage. They take my VSP vision plan. The vision plans don't cover the retina photos so you have the choice of dilation or paying $40 for the machine that doesn't require dilation. She also has a lot of solutions for dry eyes which are also a problem for me.

They have really flexible hours which is important for me to be able to make weekend appointments. You can reserve online and they will communicate with you via text which is very convenient.

I can't recommend Dr. Lam highly enough!

If you suffer from dry eyes, make an appointment with Dr Lam asap! I went for a consultation and then the TearCare sessions. Sweet relief!! You do need to commit to doing some work at home (warm eye mask, washing your lids) but the difference is amazing. The cost is absolutely worth it. (Perfect for using those FSA funds!)

I also had an eye exam and purchased new glasses. I've never had an eye doctor or staff spend so much time making sure my glasses were perfect...and they were. I'm typing this while wearing my fabulous new computer glasses. The selection of frames is great as well. Yay!

Thank you Dr Lam and crew for taking the time to provide amazing services!

Dr. Joy Lam is so amazing, knowledgeable, and goes above and beyond!

I don't have the best vision, or the best eyes, but Dr. Lam does a great job with exams, and takes into consideration all my needs. (For example, she reminds me when I need to go to an opthamalogist for glaucoma check, or asks me what kind of vision I prefer with my glasses!). She also has helped me choose my most favorite frames and oftentimes at the best price!

At my most recent appointment, she noticed I was having anxiety about eye tests and that my tears weren't coming in at the right cadence. She looked closer observed my eyelids and said it'd be good for me to help treat dry eye with eye cleaning which she also does. I didn't know what to expect, but the treatment she does is amazing! She puts on super relaxing music, I actually fell asleep, and the cleaning is really thorough. My vision legit got better because I have more tears now, and actually there was some infections from some of the oil glands being clogged for so long that she helped with too (sorry if it's TMI but I'm super grateful for the steps she's taken with me to improve my eye health).

She's incredibly responsive and gives me the right information with these types of things to make sure I am comfortable. I'm so grateful to have found her, she's truly a gem!

Update: Danielle (manager) is an angel.
      --------------------
I broke my Silhouette glasses' temples. I spoke to Krista over the phone who invited me to come in to be helped. I brought in replacement temples from Silhouette. I had a job interview the next day and was hoping to be able to see at the interview with these glasses. I came in during my lunch break. While Krista was busy, Humberto was very kind and happy to help. I left my glasses there to be assembled. Chris, their technician, assembled my replacement temples onto my existing lenses beautifully. I get off of work at 5:30 PM and Site for Sore Eyes Palo Alto closes at 6 PM. I made it into the shop around 5:53 PM that same day and Humberto fitted the glasses onto me, even showing me how these new temples can wrap around the back of the head instead of traditionally around the ear. This sounds great to me. The job interview went well and the next day, I came back to have the temples adjusted to be tighter. Krista really is a professional at this. In addition to getting the temples more snug, after her visual inspection, she also adjusted my nose pieces to better fit my nose than how I had been wearing these glasses for the past two years. Krista and Humberto welcomed me to come back as needed for further refinement of the fit and I felt that invitation was genuine.

Honestly Dr. Joy Lam doing TearCare on my very dry eyes has been a lifesaver. My eyes were pretty dry to the point that I was getting headaches and using eyedrops 3-6 times a day (without much relief). My regular eye doctor said to just keep using drops and there wasn't much else I could do. I was kind of at my wits end and a friend recommended I see Dr. Lam. She examined my eyes and discussed a couple options for my age and symptoms. She recommended TearCare and I went with that. TearCare takes about 30 minutes and kind of a facial for your eyelids- she heats your eyelids with applications that are connected to a device for 15 minutes and then after uses some sort of tweezer to push out the oils clogging your eyelids. After that, we went over an aftercare/maintenance routine. It's been a week and a half since and I feel like the dryness has lessened by 35-40%. I put in eye drops I got from her when I wake up (as a precaution) and I am good to go the whole day. I haven't had any headaches or needed to use more eyedrops. I will follow up with her in a couple weeks so she can look at the progress and then we can look at doing any next steps if warranted. The procedure isn't covered by insurance, so it's not the cheapest solution, but it's reasonable for the area/ what I found cost wise on the internet (and cheaper than Lipiflow). You can use FSA for it. Overall I am really happy with the results and very happy I am working with Dr. Lam on my eye care journey!
