Sloat Garden Center

Always a great place to check out diff plants and all the supplies you need for gardening. The staff there were friendly. The prices I think are decent.

Great to have a garden store in the Marina! Whether I'm looking to add some plants to my garden or offer a house warming gift of a plant to my new neighbors, Sloat's mini store is very convenient!
I found myself there today and ooh'd and ah'd over the brightly colored flowering plants.
I watched a hummingbird sipping nectar from a flouted flower. The bees were buzzing by, a slight wind was blowing the haze from the sky.
Sloat is an oasis in the middle of the Marina neighborhood. Stop by and adopt a plant!

I have to agree with many of the reviews for Sloat Garden Center - Marina/Cow Hollow Location: the customer service is absolutely horrid.

I walk in and there is nary a customer service individual in sight. I walk towards the back and am finally met by a woman who I asked several times if she knew about prayer plants. She did not know what the store stocked nor did she know if any of the plants opened or closed their lives throughout the day. After finding those types of plants myself, I noticed the soils were not watered and almost all of the plants were dying or in the process of dying.

Finally, when I asked if the store offered re-potting services, the same woman said "We do, but I am on the phone with a customer". She walks back to her service desk and she is NOT on any type of phone call with anyone. Strange.

I will have to try the other locations of Sloat, but I definitely WILL NOT return to this location even though it is 15 minutes from where I reside.

Donated TONS OF SEEDS to the elementary school that i work at?

The front is rather small that I missed the entrance the first time around, even though my friend and I were both looking for it. However, it extends out in the back and has a good selection of plants of different species and different sizes.

I usually shop at the garden center near the zoo but I stopped in this location at lunch on a Thursday. I picked out a plant and brought it to the register. I gave my last name to the lady at the counter because I'm a member, she found my name and then started to talk to a coworker across the room while in the middle of my transaction. I entered my card , finished up my transaction and started walking towards the door. The employees was really engaged about clocking in or logging out. When I got to the door, she yelled at me did I pay. I said"if you actually pay attention to the customer in front of you instead of having a conversation with your coworker , then you don't have to ask. I was so upset I was about to return my purchase but did not want to deal with her. Never returning !!!!!!!!! Worst service ever!!!

Great selection and super friendly and helpful staff. Made great recommendations and provided some much needed advice.

Walked in just now - Sunday noonish. No other costumers. Two workers. Not a "hello" and not a "goodbye/thanks." Never walking in there again. And I buy a lot of plants.

this plant store was perfect! we stopped by to get a plant for a housewarming and there was soo many selections and so many pots to choose from.

the place is very organized and the staff was knowledgable in all the questions that we asked haha. we ended up with a pothos plant and got a little pot to go with it.

excited to come back to get a plant for myself!

Wonderful neighborhood garden center with a nice selection of plants, garden supplies, and helpful staff. Located in the Marina District, San Francisco, in a cool urban setting.
