Where do I begin with this gem of a salon?

I had a fantastic experience with Darci! She did an amazing job with both coloring and cutting my hair. Highly recommend Darci for her skill, warmth, and dedication to making my hair perfect! Where has she been my whole life?!
It's not often I get to pamper myself, let alone sit in a salon and have my hair done. With two toddlers, I've almost given up that luxury. Darci has a heart of gold and my boys were drawn to her kind spirit and energy.

The owner of the salon Marissa and her sister went out of their way to make sure that both my boys were welcome and not any trouble to bring with to my appointment. It is not often you find this in a hair salon. I mean, they really looked after and took care of my boys so so well. I will never forget that.

To Marissa, her sister and Darci---- my boys still talk about the puppies and how much fun they had there lol. You all truly went out of your way to make us all feel comfortable and valued. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Yikes. I'm sad to say social salon is missing a few things that are really important for a high end salon.
First of all there is no receptionist. This means when you call you'll get one of the stylists who answers and they may not know about arranging appointments. A salon receptionist is really essential in making sure one feels like there's someone to welcome you.
Secondly, they don't have client gowns/robes/smocks. The two times I've come here I'm freezing because the salon is in an old building with high ceilings and limited heating. If I wanted to just have a cape over my street clothes for a cut or color I would go to a Supercuts. Are those still a thing? Either way, this is such an essential. When I asked about this I was told they would just be careful not to get clothes stained.
The third issue is that although the dog who lives at the salon all day is cute, his poop was all over the bathroom on my last visit. Luckily I didn't step on it, but a place of business shouldn't have a dog that lives there all the time, especially one that is not trained.
My fourth issue is that hair washing stations have sudden hot or sudden cold water from the plumbing. This can scald a scalp.
Sadly even though I love my stylist, I can't go back to social salon. I need a salon that makes me feel welcomed and comfortable. Not cold and watching out for dog poop.

Darci and Melissa are incredible! They did an amazing job bleaching my hair blonde! My hair turned out even better than what I had in mind!

I've had the pleasure of working with Marissa twice now--once for styling and once for a haircut. She is always lovely to work with and creates a wonderful environment in her salon. For my styling session, she was incredibly thoughtful about how she did my hair, ensuring my hair stayed styled for several hours despite its tendency not to hold. The results were amazing and my hair looked great all day. For my haircut, she was equally thoughtful and strategic when I gave her stylistic freedom with a few requests (not too short, low maintenance, and flattering). I was very happy with the results! Highly recommend!

Got a haircut with Darci recently and was really disappointed. Haircut was uneven and not at all what I asked for. I had to go somewhere else to get it fixed. One of the worst haircuts I've had in the past 4 years

Darci gave me the best haircut I've ever had!! She is so sweet and listened to exactly what I wanted. I get so many compliments and cannot recommend her enough!

Toner and Blowout by Marissa, fixed my color in one go when others at other places couldn't! Very nice and clean in here and Mico is a delight to have around. Vibes were amazing she's so upbeat

Michelle is absolutely the best. I've been going to her for about 6 years now I won't go anywhere else.
She moved to Palo Alto and I'm from Pleasanton I will drive all that way to see her I don't trust anyone with my hair. My hair was in bad shape the first time I went to her. She has got my hair so healthy now. I have thyroid issue she knows how to treat my hair with my medication. I thought this is my hair because of my thyroid medication. But she knows how medication works. And what it does to the hair. All my kids went to her but my kids moved away. But when they are home they will drive and go see her .
I highly recommend her.

I love this salon! I took my daughter for her first big girl haircut, and a Marissa was so kind, gentle, and welcoming. My daughter loved it so much and wanted to go back again right away. We loved being greeted by her puppy, and are excited to go back! Great quality salon.

I brought my daughter in for a color correction to make dark red to dirty blonde with some pink highlights. Marissa was so attentive and friendly and accommodating, it made the experience an unforgettable one. Very clean facility in a nice area of Palo Alto.Her salon is kept up very well and is very inviting. Shout out to the resident pup, Miko! thanks again Marissa!!
