As you've noticed from the other reviews, people either love this or hate it. I tried them a few years ago when they first started, and I had kind of a weird overly talkative guy show up, so I didn't try again for a while.

But when you get the right person, it's the best. I order a massage two hours before bedtime, then I can roll into bed and have an amazing night of sleep.

For me, both Moses and Vic are great. Very strong, very professional. The nice thing is, once you find massage therapist you like, you can request them specifically next time.

So if the idea really appeals to you, give it a few tries and see if you can find someone you like.

If I could, I would give zero stars for this particular experience. The day before, I scheduled Mario (his actual first name) for a 90 minute massage in San Jose, CA (at Hotel Valencia). (He had many reviews and was highly rated.) Soothe took my money and "confirmed" my date/time with Mario. It was a surprise massage for my sister's 50th birthday and to celebrate her cancer-free diagnosis. At 11:30 the next day, I surprised her with the news of her upcoming 90 minute massage so that she would have sufficient time to prepare for the massage. She quickly showered and was waiting in her robe in full excitement for her much-needed upcoming massage. I went downstairs to meet Mario in the lobby -15 minutes after I texted him asking for "status." No response. At about 11:47 a.m, Mario responded and said he "cancelled." I went upstairs and had to break the news to my sister. We could not reschedule for later that day because we had a show to attend later that day and there were no other times available for the rest of the time.

Mario did not timely cancel--as his 12:09 p.m. follow up text represented because when Soothe refunded me my money, it was a few minutes after 12:09 p.m. text (via the App). (Mario's response about the timing was "I am sorry the app didn't notify you." (It's interesting to note that Mario was quickly able to text me via the app once I asked for "status.")

This should not be a "hit" or "miss" app. Two years ago, I had great service for myself and my daughter in Los Angeles (also at a hotel). This time--devastating and heartbreaking results. If you only imagine how heartbroken I was when I had to return back to the hotel room only to share this disappointment news with my sister. My sister did her best to be a trooper, but I could clearly see her disappointment (with the company).

Going forward, I will not be using this App because of the "hit" or "miss" results. Nobody should be crossing their fingers that someone will show up at their appointed time and having to follow up to ensure they get a refund for a therapist's no-show.

The absolute worst App on the Planet.

As someone who's been using massage on demand since pretty much day one, I feel like I am good judge of character here.

Let me be clear, SOOTHE is the opposite of relaxing.

Twice now, they've accepted my booking, told me "So and So" would be arriving at a certain time. And you guessed it, no one arrived. TWO TIMES in row I am moving shi* around my tiny apartment, getting pumped for my massage that's a no show! I am running around getting towels, bed sheets. Only to be left at the altar.

Tell ya what, they sure as he-ll swiped right on my CC both times, right quick.

Have fun figuring out how to reach a live person.

Sit back and relax, while they put you on hold for 20 min. effortlessly, seamlessly transferring you gently back and forth.

Still not feeling relaxed enough? LOL No worries, grab a beer, sink into the abyss, because you're not going anywhere! That's right, you'll be calling them back repeatedly, over and over, to process your refund(s) for the next six to eight weeks!

Was dying for a massage and all my local spas were booked so tried this out. It was a WONDERFUL experience! I got Isaiah. Cannot recommend him enough. And the app is glitchy but you just have to work through it. It was worth it!

booked a couples massage for our anniversary. Got confirmation of two therapists. one cancelled within an hour, the other didn't even bother showing or responding. A replacement therapist showed but she didn't speak English so we couldn't communicate. The one therapist who did show was stuck with no support and our anniversary treat was ruined. Djonea and Megan are unreliable. I'd have left a review in the app but apparently you can only review therapists after they've performed the service. That in itself is lame considering there's a professionalism element missing in the process. Therapists can cancel, not show, and there's no way to reflect that in their profile.

i was billed over $150 for services never provided or ordered. To date, no effort of Sooth to try to correct the issue. No one will return my calls or massages.

The longer version:

I had scheduled a 7 PM massage early that day but was scheduled with a male so I canceled the appointment as my preference was a female.

I subsequently got a message while I was at work that a therapist was at my house at 9:45 AM waiting for me. I did not received a message on the app or an email stating I had a booked appointment.

I was charged $149 for the "visit" as well as a $35 fee. No one would call me back and I was always redirected to send a text message.

Maybe the massage therapists are great, I never got that far! Really disappointed in the customer service.

I ordered massages for my husband for Fathers Day and selected male or female for myself and female for my husband for $152 each. A male masseuse showed up, and my husband wasn't comfortable getting a massage. I contacted soothe to cancel the appointment and it took over an hour to process my cancellation and refund.

Finally after waiting an hour, instead of refunding me $152, they rebooked me as a single massage and then charged me an $70 high surge booking on top. So instead of a refund, I was charged extra. Unbelievable.

I understand that to be very very safe i should have also selected female for myself, but you would think the default of Soothe would be to match with someone whose criteria meets BOTH clients.

Very upset that my husband's first Father's Day was ruined.

Unreliable marketplace. They make it really hard to do changes. They treat customers with zero flexibility. Please find an alternative. You will regret spending money with them.

Beware....I ordered a massage, they canceled and I was still forced to pay for a service I never received. A very common complaint from others.....fraudulent at best.

This was, by far, the worst massage I've ever had in my life. Imagine hiring a random person off the street. This person has watched a youtube video, once, on how to give a massage. That's the vibe you'll get for this massage.

Then, add in sheets / bedding that:
- don't fit the massage table
- are stained
- smell gross / haven't been recently washed

All I can say is there's a *very good reason* you can't see reviews for your massage therapist on Soothe. You wouldn't book one.
