One of the best Thai places I've had in NY! Great food and not overpriced. When we got there at 5pm on Sat when it opened, we were seated immediately but the restaurant filled up quick.

Crab and Egg Noodle Curry - 5/5. This was my favorite dish, we even ordered extra egg noodles to add to the curry. Has a bit of salted egg taste in my opinion, lots of flavor.

Duck noodles - 4/5. Duck was so tender and would recommend. The noodles weren't as flavorful compared to other dishes but it's actually a nice balance for the meal.

Masaman Curry - 5/5. I love a peanut-y curry and thought this hit the spot. It also has a rich coconut flavor which was unique.

Curry Puffs - 5/5. The best curry puffs I've had! Super crispy and the filling was delicious. A bit sweeter than other curry puffs I've had which I enjoyed.

Mango Sorbet Sticky Rice - 5/5. The sticky rice with fresh mangos and sorbet were a great combo. I've sometimes found the rice is a bit flavorless for this dessert but I actually really liked the rice alone too.

so... I came here when they first opened many years ago and thought it was mediocre but a friend of mine said it was really good when she went recently so decided to give it a second chance and they didn't disappoint this time!

Soothr has decent thai food in the area and more known for their shareable family style type dishes so it's not surprising if many are unique. They also have very creative, very cute, very delicious drinks here too! Appetizers here were more standard. I would skip over the appetizers next time and just order drinks and mains next time.

Appetizers/ small bites: (this section was not that impressive)
      - duck rolls 3.5/5
      - moo dang puff 4/5
      - had yai chicken 3/5

      Drinks:
      - deep in aquamarine 5/5: this is the perf refreshing and lightly tart drink

      - diamond 4/5: stronger alcohol taste than the rest but still relatively good!

      - rose quartz 4/5: you don't taste any alcohol in this and it's literally like lychee juice. this drink is superb pretty with the rose in ice

      - all that jade 4/5: if you like matcha then you'd probably enjoy this drink

      - delong star ruby 3/5: this was very flat... kind of tasted like herbal tea

Mains: (NOTE - all portion sizes are quite small)
      - Crab fried rice 4/5: decent crab fried rice and they give you a good portion of the crab but size of it is not really meant for sharing it seems. but we did love the sauce that it comes with!

      - Penang duck lychee curry 4.5/5: this was very delicious - the curry was yummy, duck was very tender and not too fatty

      - spicy braised beef pad kraprow 4/5: beef was very tender but it wasn't too impressive to me

      - Si krong pad ped 4.5/5: loved the ribs here - also fell right off the bone

      - Pad see ew 4/5: this I def had better so it was more standard to me here

      - Rad na jay 4/5: radna / ladna is something I always love to try when I see at a thai restaurant since it's usually not available but they make a little different here instead of the flat noodles they use crispy egg noodle which I thought was very interesting. It certainly tastes better than it looks? once again very SMALL portion size - don't want to sound like a broken record but this can be applied to every dish

This is a great spot to hang with friends with their lovely drink menu!

Did not have a resy. Waited around 45 minutes for walk in bar on weekend early dinner.

Ordered duck noodles, chicken khaki soi and two drinks. I have a low spice tolerance so the duck noodles have a kick and the food with the astrix on the menu definitely felt spicer but the food quality was good. Thai ice tea was ok.

Would try to get a resy next time but overall enjoyed my time here!

Located in the EV, Soothr offers Thai staples where you can enjoy a comforting meal.

      *AMBIANCE*
We made a reservation here which is highly recommended. They do take walk ins though you may have a short wait. This is a fairly small restaurant and tables are really tight. I almost felt like I was going to knock over some things from the table next to me as I was getting up and scooting out of my chair! Not sure if it was just weak AC or the crowds of the restaurant, but it was a bit warm and toasty inside on a 90+ degree day, so the overall ambiance could be improved.

      *FOOD*
Despite the arms-length seating arrangements, the food here is tasty. Highly recommend the Koong Karee ($25) which is their signature shrimp curry dish! It comes with a side of rice, but sauce is simply delicious and comforting.

The duck noodles ($25) were also a favorite and very flavorful. The duck was chewy and egg noodles were very tender, drizzled with a house gravy sauce.

We also tried the Thai iced tea ($7) which I thought was just okay but nothing to write home about.

      *SERVICE*
      Service came quickly and efficiently.

Overall, would recommend trying this Thai spot at least once!

Got the Pad Thai w/ shrimp bc i was feeling basic and WOW they slayed in the basics. Massaman curry also was filled with lots of flavor and the right spice. Better than imm thai. The diamond tasted like an alcholic otterpop

Being outside, we still got a good amount of attention from our waiter. Be prepared for a wait if you don't have a res. Inside it's very busy.

Khao soi is also supposedly very good!

WOW. A must try for Thai food in NYC.

We had made a reservation after this place was highly recommended to us. Our server was very attentive, and our dishes came out very quick. Tucked into easy village, this location is cozy. We tried the khao soi chicken and Koong karee - Every dish came out warm and SO delicious. Our cocktails were fabulous. We ended our meal with mango sticky rice which was chefs kiss.

Highly recommend checking this spot out.

Have seen this all over instagram and finally came for a friend's birthday. Should definitely make a reservation as it was crowded on a Monday afternoon.

All the dishes were amazing. We got the curry, pad sew ew and the Tom yum soup. Everything was super flavorful and came out pretty quickly. The servers were also super attentive!

      Would definitely recommend!

Soothr last night was a great experience food and service wise. -1 for the cramped up space for I had to be vigilant and mindful about any moves I made whilst not on my seat.

Our server was very well versed with the menu and the flavors, and attentive throughout the experience. Kudos to them for operating the way that they do in the tight spaces.

Not only did I struggle making my way in and out of the restaurant as I had to walk in a single file with tables to my left and right, my heart also skipped a beat when I thought I knocked my sever off whilst I pushed through the main toilet door on my way out. Wonder how they do this everyday without a frown. To scoot in and out of my seat, I also had to involve the diners in the neighboring table so that I didn't knock over their glasses or bump into them, and I am not a big person so it entirely comes down to the table arrangement. Surely they could reduce the number of tables to allow for a more comfortable dining experience.

Anyway, onto the positive things- the place is aesthetically quite pleasing and the food is commendable.

Eggplant Salad (4/5) - this was a vibrant dish and the acidic notes made it feel quite refreshing. I wish the eggplant was a little more charred to showcase the depth of the vegetable and that the poached then fried egg was on the runnier side to actually enable the theatrics of mixing the runny yolk with the rest. These faults seemed like a consequence of rushed preparation in the kitchen. Flavor-wise, this dish was bright, and took us on a pleasing taste and textural adventure.

Khao Soi Sai Ua (5/5) + extra noodles on the side - following the amazing experience of the Chicken Khao Soi at Sappe, we were worried but this one successfully met those standards. The Khao Soi was well spiced, the noodles well prepared, and the sauce oh so wonderful! We ordered extra noodles because we didn't want a drop of the luscious soup to go unconsumed. The Thai Pork Sausage option was a great choice. The sausage was spicy, tender, and tasted fresh. Great pick!

Mango Sticky Rice (5/5) - this is exactly what you would expect. No surprises or shocks. A classic and humble Thai sweet treat executed perfectly.

Koong Karee (packed to-go) (5/5) - we knew we had to try the much raved about Koong Karee. Took it to-go and thoroughly enjoyed it the next day. The shrimp was cooked faultlessly and the sauce was so comfortable and wholesome. I could see myself ordering a takeout of this again for a cosy curry night in.

If I look beyond the restaurant layout, I mostly had a positive dining experience and can definitely see myself recommending the place to someone looking for authentic Thai cuisine.

I put my notifications on for Soothr and was able to snag a reservation! The drinks were sweet with great presentation. We didn't find them too strong which was nice!

Then, not pictured here, but my friend and I first shared a shrimp curry which was so flavorful! The shrimp pieces were meaty and it was perfect to share between 2 people.

Then we shared a tomyum seafood soup and lychee duck curry. I wasn't too impressed by the tomyum soup but the lychee duck curry was amazing! The duck was cooked to perfection, and there were actual lychees in the curry which was a pleasant surprise to me! It went very well with the curry.

Overall, I've had better thai places but I intend to be back to try their other dishes!

I came across Soothr on social media and have been wanting to try it for a while. Reservations seem hard to come by for this place, but luckily one of my friends was able to make one about a week in advance.

Upon arriving, we were quickly ushered in and given a table. The seating is very tight. A server had to push our table over a little bit because there was not simply enough room for me to get into my seat with the other party seated behind us.

They give you a menu for drinks but to see the food, you have to scan the QR code. I thought the website UI for the menu was a little funky. There are a lot more options than there initially appear to be, you just really have to scroll.

I ordered the Duck Over Rice ($24) and the All About Amethyst ($18). The Duck Over Rice felt very balanced. The meat was tender, the sauce was flavorful, and the rice was not too sticky nor too dry -- every bite was delicious. The All About Amethyst was very floral and refreshing. The dining experience is overall positive, but I think the prices can be a bit steep.

One thing about this place is that the service is very, very fast. After getting our menus, our server checked in on us about three times before we were finally ready to place an order. It didn't feel like we were being rushed though, more like the server wanted to be helpful and alleviate any concerns during the ordering process. Once we placed our orders, the food and drinks came within 10 minutes which surprised us given how busy things were.

While I loved my time here, I don't think I would casually come back, but I think it's worth the one-time experience!
