Sorelle Italian Bistro

I had heard about this hole-in-wall restaurant and that people loved it. Owned by an Italian family, I was excited to try it. I was raised by a full-blooded, Northern Italian step-dad who spoke the language and owned an Italian Deli in Mountain View for 39 years. Needless to say, I am picky when it comes to Italian food.

This place is small, no elaborate decor, but a positive vibe, which is way more important. We were served by Tish, who was very friendly and positive. I got the Baked Zitti with Meatballs. It's actually ONE giant meatball, and it was freaking delish. The pasta was cooked perfectly before baked, and the Bolognese sauce was the BEST I've had, and I've had a lot. It was thick and loaded with meat. The bread was dipped in Olive Oil that had smashed garlic cloves, and I topped it with a glass of red.

Yum. I am going back next weekend, LOL! Fabulous food! I am very happy, as this place (don't drive by it too fast, you'll miss it) is only 3 miles from my apartment.

I highly recommend this place. They do not take reservations, but we didn't even have to wait in a Saturday night, and it was packed. It's now my favorite Italian Restaurant.

We loved everything about this family oriented restaurant. We had the fried artichokes, a speciality pizza (max's), and the spaghetti with the meat sauce and a meatball. Everything was so delicious . Service was just as good. Definitely be back soon

Don't let the small strip location fool you. It's a must try

Ambiance: This restaurant does NOT have a good "ambiance" it is in a strip mall and it is a converted space where the entire space has been converted into converted into a restaurant (think of a big room). The part that is the kitchen is sort of hidden away and the restaurant is quite warm (even though they have the AC going).

Service: The service was so-so, it wasn't bad but it wasn't great either.

Food: We went there with my in-laws (so six of us) and I would have to say that their food was good. I would go here again but not in a big party nor for a special occasion, I would go here with just my kids and wife.

- Bread: We asked for bread and it came with oil and garlic which was VERY fresh...the bread was good.
- Baked ziti: I had the baked ziti with penne and it was tasty and the meat sauce was not overpowering.
- Caeser Salad with Salmon: My wife had a salad with salmon and she said it was good.
- Garlic Shrimp Pasta: My mother-in-law had this dish and she said it was tasty but she had to take 1/2 of it home.
- Alfredo pasta with chicken: The portion was large enough for our two boys to share this adult portion. They both liked it; I sneaked a bite and it was good.

Unfortunately, I only got to take a pic of my baked ziti (sorry guys). I would recommend you to try this restaurant but just be warned it is VERY casual...and don't expect anything fancy nor a great ambiance.

Sorelle is not a fancy establishment, it's located in a neighborhood and can easy be missed if it's your first visit. The restaurant has a family friendly vibe and charm. Service was efficient and fast. After we ordered, we did have to wait a bit for the food to come but the kids were so happy to munch on the complimentary bread, they didn't complain. :)

Would definitely recommend this establishment for picky kids. The kids menu had exactly what my kids wanted, chicken tenders and fries and mac and cheese for the other = happy parents who can have dinner in semi peace. I ordered the linguini with shrimp and my husband ordered the staple meatball and spaghetti.

Had a girls night with my sister. We both were craving Italian but neither of us are fond of the restaurants close to home. Quick search on Yelp suggested we try Sorelle. We showed up on a Friday evening after 5:30 pm and had a 20 minute wait. The service was friendly and quick, the food was nothing short of wonderful. The fried artichoke was just the starter we needed to get our dinner started along with peach bellini's. I have to say, I'm partial to my mamas linguini and clam sauce so this was a true treat as it was definitely one of the best I've had outside of home. My sister loved and I approved the short rib bolognese, very balanced sauce and fork tender chunk of rib on top. I would definitely recommend this place and return for some of the tastiest Italian food I've ever had.

Good food! Definitely got food poisoning from the tortellini Alfredo once (tasted "off" and it was the only thing my husband didn't eat... and he wasn't laid up in the bathroom all night like I was.) But after a couple of months, the memory has faded and I'd definitely order other dishes again. The baked ziti, lasagne, and peppers with polenta are especially yummy.

We ended up to take to go. And fried zucchini and mozzarella was today's special and it was so good!

Short rib bolognese's meat was so tender.

Came here with my husband for a last minute date night. I had been here once before for a girls night but I wasn't feeling good so I didn't really eat anything. I am glad I came back. I remember it being a little in the smaller side so we tried to get there early. We had to wait about 15 minutes. Not bad. Everyone was very friendly while we waited.

My husband ordered the jalapeno margarita which was very good. A little spicy but no too overpowering. I had the Bellini. It was good but nothing special. They give the table bread and garlic olive oil which was good.

Our main dishes came out quickly. My husband ordered the linguine fruti de mare (seafood pasta with a cioppino sauce). He really enjoyed it as he ate the whole thing. I ordered the short rib bolognese. Amazing. The meat. The sauce. Everything.

Overall I was very happy with our meals and we can't wait to go again.

I was looking for a casual and cozy Italian restaurant for our date night and Sorelle was literally what we were looking for. I ordered the lemon cream pasta which was one of the specials for the week and was delicious! Even more amazingly, the service was excellent! I loved her! (I'm sorry I didn't get her name.) She was really friendly, nice and professional. Honestly, I'd have never expected to have that level of service at a non fancy restaurant in the US.
We'll definitely come back :)

Best meal I've had since moving to Northern California 8 years ago. My husband, brother, and I all shared our plates and desserts and can't decide what we liked best. Absolutely everything was delicious. Everyone of the people running the show run it like they own the restaurant. It must be family owned for the service to be that great. What a wonderful little restaurant. The tables are just far enough apart that we can't catch the conversations happening at the tables next to us but can hear each other quite easily. It's very well lit and feels a lot like we are in a mom and pop restaurant in a movie! All the vibes are great. Everybody seems really stoked to be eating there. I know we were. We live in Oakland and have been making excuses to have to go back out that way just so we can eat there again LOL.
