South City Muffler

I got a Corsa Xtreme catback installed on my 2017 Mustang GT last week. Bill is very knowledgeable and took care of me very well. You can stay and watch him work or you can leave the car, which is nice. We chose to leave the vehicle and Bill got it done nice and fast in about 3 hours and called as soon as it was done. It was about $600 for everything

This review is LONG overdue. First and foremost, if you are shopping for exhaust/muffler services, take my advice and just go to South City Muffler. Honest and incredible work all around.

Couple months ago, I called the shop and was greeted by Bill who was happy to discuss fitment of a Flowmaster muffler I wanted to put in. Good thing I called because turns out I almost ordered the wrong muffler and Bill was kind enough to inform me of what muffler setups I should be looking for my Chevy Tahoe.

Once my muffler arrived, I scheduled some time with Bill and he was able to squeeze me in the very next day for install. Bill immediately got my Tahoe on the lift and started inspection. It wasn't long before he was welding my new muffler. My muffler was much smaller than the stock muffler so he added some extra piping to ensure a perfect fit (take a look at his work in my photo).

The best part about all this is Bill. He's a one man shop and has been for many years. He's proud to show you his work after which goes a long way. We chopped it up for a while talking fishing, crabbing, nascar, you name it. If I ever need exhaust/muffler work, I'm not looking anywhere else.

I was trying to get my 99 Miata pass smog but unforturately there was a crack in the exhaust. I needed a quick fix and I found Bill's business on Yelp. Called him right away and told him I will bring my car to him the next morning.

Got there this morning and drove my car on his rack. He lifted it up and saw the problem right away. The old weld on my muffler was broken. He cut the old piece off and welded a new piece on it. Everything was done in just 30 minutes. We had a nice chat afterwards too. Very friendly guy.

Bill is a genuine guy. He's been in the business for over 40 years. This guy is like an old wise sensei who knows his stuff. Price is very fair. I will definitely be coming back if I have more exhaust work again.

Bill is a crook. I went in to have my 2008 Honda Accord inspected for a sound I thought was coming from the muffler. He charged me $40 for a quick inspection which was no problem at all.

While he was ringing me up, he answered the phone multiple times slowing down me being able to leave and upon this last call, he advised a customer to come in so he could do the same exact inspection he did on my vehicle but for free.

Once he got off the phone and my transaction was complete, I just quietly walked to my car and began to leave. He asked if there was a problem I said yes you're charging me $40 for something that you're willing to do for free for someone else that you've never met. I said that is bad business and you know it.

Knowing he was wrong he offered me my $40 back and I said that's not the point and left and I will never return to his unfair business.

Bill was great. He welded a couple of O2 bungs on a header for me and I couldn't be happier.

Saw an exhaust problem in the caddy, called everywhere and went to San Bruno muffler in San Bruno - closed, went to a few other different shops, got referred to south city muffler by firestone pacifica. Called south city muffler, Bill answered, I told him my problem and he said come right in. I come in the shop, nicest guy ever, felt I knew him for a long time, saw the issue, fixed it on the fly and I am out the door. I cant stress Bill's professionalism, his business etiquete, patience and his vibe. I had no idea that people like Bill exists...South City muffler baby! Thank You Mr. Bill Smith, appreciate your prompt response and action...

I called Bill on Wednesday afternoon after discovering I had a nasty bend and hole in my exhaust. He scheduled me immediately for Thursday morning and when I arrived, he put the car in the air to examine damages and talk me through exactly what the repair would be and how he would do it. By lunchtime, I was back on the road with a fresh exhaust.

Bill was amazing and truly a master at his craft, extremely knowledgable, and fast. I highly recommend giving him a call for your exhaust needs!
