      First to Review

I've been coming to SSF clinic for a few months now. Making appointments is quick and they'll try to accommodate your schedule as best as they can. There was this one time I called last minute for a physical exam for my CNA program. The lady helped squeezed me in for an appointment right before my turn in date. My most recent visit was another physical into my LVN program and they were booked until the next month. I told them I needed the physical sooner and the guy was so helpful he told me of a cancellation and asked if I wanted it, which I did! The waits can take from 10-15 minutes which isn't too bad considering how packed and busy they are most of the time.

The staff are all very nice and friendly. The nurses took their time when they saw me and never rushed my visits. They paid attention to my concerns and explained certain conditions and medications to me. The male LVN that helped drew my blood for my physical was very nice and talked me through the process so I knew what he was doing the whole time while educating me about drawing blood and LVN related stuff. Nurse practitioner Kelava was also very nice! I've seen her twice and she was super friendly and knowledgeable. On two occasions, I came in with some health issue and she diagnosed me and prescribed me meds which help me a lot.

Very great team of healthcare professionals :)

The people scheduling appointments/answering the phone are so rude, I'm sure they get a heavy flow of phone calls/patients coming in and out of the clinic but they need to accommodate patients better and be clear about information they're giving out since its different from what the nurse said and the receptionist! Its annoying how they talk over you! I literally had to tell her she was talking over me and didn't give me a chance to tell her exactly what i was calling for and to clear up any misinterpretation..even then she was still sounding so annoyed. I don't want to put her name on blast but just really hope shethey can better their customer service! BUT the extra star is for Dr. Shore, shes super nice and really listens to you!

I went to this place for my daughters doctors appointment back in 2012 when my daughter was seven years old. My daughter and her mother arrived before me. So when I arrived to the clinic front security window and told the receptionist that I'm here to see my daughter and I told her my daughters name. She told me to wait and she walked over to another women and spoke to her. The women she talked to went to the medical room to ask my daughters mother if I can come in. After getting the ok for me to come in. The receptionist ask to see my driver license. I let the receptionist see my driver license. Then the receptionist buzzed the security door and I walked in and she showed me the medical room where my daughter and her mother were in. My daughter had a cold. The nurse and my daughters mother told me that my daughter needed a blood test. I said she doesn't need a blood test for a cold. I said that its was cold outside about four days ago and my daughter was running and playing in the park and she refused to put on her jacket. This is the most important part that needs to be understood by the reader in order to understand why I'm writing this review. ( I SAID SHE DOESN'T NEED A BLOOD TEST FOR A COLD. I NEVER SAID DON'T GIVE MY DAUGHTER A BLOOD TEST.) In other words. If my daughters mother want the blood to be done. Then so be it. I just didn't think it was necessary. After I made my point. The female nurse walked up to me an POINTED her finger in my face and said you don't care about your daughter. You just care about yourself. Her finger was about 6" from my nose. Then another nurse walked out of the room and came back with a male doctor. The doctor looked at me one time and turned his head an cross his arms and said in a firm voice. You have to leave. I said why and he said you have to leave were calling the police. Every time I tried to talk to him he just kept saying you got to leave. Then the police showed up and said I have to leave, but wait they have an order against you. They told me to sign the order stating that if I return to the clinic I will be arrested. WOW!...The police didn't believe a word I said and didn't let me finest telling my side of the story. One officer kept saying you had to do something wrong. I called San Mateo General ,which is the head office and tried to tell them what happen to me. The women I talked to was suppose to look in to complaints according to the person who transferred my call to her. During the phone conversation she kept cutting me off ever three seconds. I could not tell her the full story because she refuse to listen to the whole story. She kept saying wait a minute. She was raising her voice at me. She said this doesn't sounds true and I'm am going to in this call. So she hung up on me. WOW!.. So I filed a complaint with the state medical board. The complaint was closed because I had no witnesses to prove their guilt and of course they lied.
I need to add this to the review. When the nurse finest giving my daughter the blood test. The nurse came out into the lobby area, and was looking at me while the police was talking at me. I looked at the nurse twice. Both times I looked at the nurse she put her hand over her mouth and was laughing at me while pointing her finger at me.
I called San Mateo General human resource on 5/22/2019 to find out who is the manager or who is over the human resource department. The women I talked to in human resource wouldn't let me know.

I feel they do care. I have been insured very well in the past and could go anywhere for care at minimal to no cost for myself and my family. I now am unemployed and disabled there for I am on Medical. My experience with this clinic and staff has be fabulous. When I didn't care they did. The entire SMMC system has given me a second life. They represent Patience with Patients.
