Everything about this place is: Bomb diggity, bomb! That's a direct quote from my husband, Jason.

We wanted to try this place because we recently moved to the area and we are always up for some authentic Nola food.

The hush puppies were perfection! The dip served with it was very yum! A nice, robust flavor.

The Brussels sprouts are remarkable. Cooked so well and the touch of maple syrup pushes this over the edge to addictive.

The blackened shrimp and grits (2 ways) are flavorful and the grits with gravy as well as the grits w/cheese are a nice combo and enough to bring home and have another meal later on.

Jambalaya is bright and well seasoned. It's a huge portion. Although, Jason enjoyed the entire plate and loved it!

We will be returning! We want to try more stuff!
Awesome brothers and staff in a very casual environment.

      Service: 3/5 - Standard service.

Ambiance: 3/5 - Both indoor and outdoor seating.

Decent spot for authentic New Orleans flavors. We have only ever gotten take out. Can't speak to dining in and the ambiance. This time I tried the crawfish etouffe and it was tasty. Had a bit of a kick but not too spicy. The 1/4 mufaletta was pretty good flavor wise I just didn't like that it was heated and not properly packaged so the sandwich melted into the box and I had to peel the cardboard box from the cheese and meats. Beignets which are only available on Sundays were meh. Ok for what it is and you don't feel like cooking homemade.

Soco Kitchen is such a staple of Castro Valley and I'm glad we have a decent restaurant in the area. I've never been a huge fan of the menu only because I'm not a fan of fried foods in general (because of bloating and stomach aches) but there are a few menu items that are decent if you're overall health conscious like me.

Parking is limited & squishy here as it shares spots in a business plaza but there's usually space in the back or right out on the street so it's not too hard to find a spot.

I do have to say their mac n cheese is some of the best I've had and I like to push my gluten sensitivity slightly and get the small size of this (which is enough for two people as is). Recently, I've discovered their SoCo house salad with southern fried chicken which is soooo good and doesn't make me feel bad on cheat days. The fried chicken is crispy and the walnuts and tomatoes with spring mix shaken together with one who dat sauce and two ranches (because their sauce cups are only half full) is the perfect combo.

Again, not the biggest fan of this type of cuisine and how it affects my health & diet but there are a few gems that are worth coming and getting every so often!

      Very impressed!

I've been wanting to try SoCo for years and always forgot about it until tonight. I ordered the chicken and sausage jambalaya and was very happy I did! It was so good! I love Cajun food and usually it homemade from my aunt who is Cajun so I'm skeptical about eating it out but this was so very good! The chicken and sausage were both cooked so good and the chicken was tender and not dry! The seasonings they use to blend the rice concoction together are very delicious! I can't wait to go back and eat it again and try their other dishes! The portion was big as well and I ate half of it and have half to eat tomorrow! Great job!

We had cajun crab fries and shrimp, catfish, and oyster. Yumm!!! The fried dishes were excellent with the sauces they provided, but the fries wasn't as creamy as I would liked. Perhaps more garlic aioli is needed.

Overall experience was nice. The team helped us with decided between the popular dishes as well.

It wasn't too busy inside, so there were enough seats to choose from. Perhaps around 20-30 people inside from the seating arrangements.

I recently ordered from this place after a hiatus, and it seems their portions have gone on a diet! We got a blackened shrimp po-boy and a who-dat chicken sandwich, and neither was remotely filling. Ordered via DoorDash, and the site description was off--the shrimp po-boy doesn't come with Cajun rice. Called the restaurant, and surprise--the shrimp isn't deep-fried (contrary to the menu), which was a key detail for me.

Oh, and they tack on an extra charge for delivery versus pickup. Because, you know, DoorDash fees aren't enough already. So, you end up paying over $2 more per item for the privilege of delivery. Two barely-there sandwiches for $44? Hard pass next time.

Service was fast and friendly, the food was very good. Good flavor/seasoning and good crunch on the fish & fries. Will be going back. Oh and I got 2 meals out of it, so on value. $20.95 out the door.

We sometimes come here after church on Sundays and get our food to go.

We've enjoyed the catfish po boy and fries with the added crab. My husband loves the carrot cake and the bread pudding is my favorite (soft middle, crunchy edges, and the sauce is the best... it does have raisins)... and can't leave without beignets (only offered on Sundays)

Ohhh and mac and cheese is good too--
