For convenience, I park at the City Center West Garage on 12th St. between Jefferson and Martin Luther King Jr. Way since it's next to my office. The entrances are on Jefferson and Martin Luther King Sts. It offers easy access to Interstate 980, which is a block away.

This six level self-parking garage with a roof level, operates between 6am to 11pm on M-F. It's a modern structure that accommodates pickups and SUVs as well. They offer electric car charging amenities. The parking garage is safe and I've heard of no incidents of mishaps from my coworkers that park there.

Parking prices are a little pricier than average, but that's the price you pay for safety, cleanliness and convenience of the garage. It's $2.00 per 30 minutes, with a $28 daily maximum. They do offer a $15 early bird for cars entering before 9:30am. You pay at the pay machines on the first level by dropping the token you get when you enter the garage. The machines accept cash and credit cards.

Nice parking option in the City Center area of Downtown Oakland.

What a ripoff! Had to park here today for dental appt. The sign at the entrance gate states: it enforces handicap parking. Ok, so i'm thinking; this means i don't have to pay, since i have my valid handicap placard--not. Never mind, the fact, i had to wait over a half hour for someone to come to info booth. When she did, she had attitude. Told me: "you still have to pay". $16 bucks for a hour and a half. If i could give a negative star, i would.

This garage is a SCAM!! Total rip off! They don't make their prices clear and intentionally deceive. I was there for only 1 hour and 15 minutes, and got a $16 charge to my credit card. DO NOT PARK HERE.

Raising parking garage rates is tough enough to take.. suggest management at the 12th Street/MLKJr Way garage learn to give prior notice that they are raising rates. a $5 per day raise with NO prior notice - - Unacceptable! Second time this happened.. first time, Daily rate of $28 raised to $40 and hourly from $4 to $6. No improvements. Next: monthly parkers.. beware. Yes, I now need to find another way to work as I no longer can afford to park.

Staff was incredibly rude and unhelpful. Really have not experienced anything like it.

I park in this garage every week day while working out at Club One (OK I *try* to make it in five days a week). While I really don't like that I have to pay for parking when the gym membership is already so pricey, parking here is well worth the money.

How can a parking garage be so special? Yes, it is clean, but what else can there be? The answer is MARY. The cashier at the gate is the kindest, warmest, smilingest person. She gets my day started with a big smile and often a chuckle, and makes it far less painful to hit the gym so very early.

"City Center West" Worst garage in Oakland. signage is horrible, paying is all convoluted and over priced. they don't keep is clean and don't feel safe here. No need to park here.

$3 flat rate for motorcycles... by far the best deal in Downtown Oakland.
