What a charming little restaurant. The patio is so intimate & cozy. The food is top notch. The butternut squash soup is so delicious. Could have just had that! We had the fried chicken with mashed potatoes & gravy. Really good. Hubby had a burger & fries & everything was really good. Also had lemon cheesecake & maple bacon donut holes. So so good.

Our server was very sweet & attentive. Try it out!

This is a very small restaurant in Helen Putnam Plaza (across from the Petaluma Pie Co.). There are a few tables inside alongside a large bar. There is also seating outside in front. The decor is a little funky but that's okay. The food was very good. I tried everything that was ordered at our table and it was all very flavorful and hot. My mother ordered three tacos (salmon, plantain and short ribs). I was doubtful about the plantain taco but it was it was surprisingly good choice. My daughter ordered the creamy chicken pesto pasta, which was very rich and creamy - not much of a pesto flavor. I ordered the short ribs with polenta. The polenta was very creamy and was some of the best polenta I've had in a long time. The short ribs were boneless and had a very unique flavor that I enjoyed. The portions were decent and the prices are good here (compared to the typical restaurant downtown).

It's a very small place, so the bartender is also serving the tables. Our server was attentive and friendly. If it's a cold winter night, be sure to wear a jacket inside. It was not warm enough inside. I'm not sure if they had heaters outside.

I enjoyed my meal at the Speakeasy and will probably return one day.

NOTE: Apparently, this business is connected in some way to the Big Easy which is on the other side of the Plaza. In fact, if you need to use the restroom, you will have to use the one at the Big Easy. The Big Easy is a small music venue. I believe that they serve food there too.

Good little spot! This is a place we come back to, always for the vegan tacos! Small little seating area inside and outside. They have a NA beer too! I always get the vegan tacos, they offer 3 - maybe 4 that can be made vegan. And I can never remember which one was my fave, so I always end up ordering one of each - every time. They're all good, really. And teen was happy with the wings. Definitely recommend and we will be back!

We were in need for a late night spot with delicious food with many options and the speakeasy did NOT disappoint. Nadine provided us with spectacular recommendations to navigate decision paralysis in face of mouth watering menus and she provided a blanket for extra coziness. We had the short-braised ribs which were phenomenal and the sirloin was a close second. We even got a dessert after the kitchen closed, we are VERY pleased! We enjoyed listening to the echoes of the nearby club and felt part of the life and soul of this singular Petaluma street. We recommend this urban heaven to any traveler in search of authentic food, genuine human interaction and craving for life to the fullest.

I've walked past so many times and thought, "what a cute patio." Finally took the opportunity to sit there and order brunch/lunch.

They serve brunch all day on Saturday and Sunday. My husband got biscuits and gravy, which he said was amazing. I tried the pork gravy -- really tasty.

I opted for the taco trio based on other Yelp reviews. My favorite was the coconut crusted plantain. I've had lots of brussels sprout tacos at a few other places, and these are "healthier" -- which could be good or bad, depending on what' you're looking for. Short rib was really yummy but could have used some more crunchy slaw to set off the juicy texture.

Came here for a late dinner to catch up with some friends. Warm night so we sat on their patio under the string lights, very cute. Our server was incredibly attentive and friendly. She automatically came out with waters and put in our drink orders. We ordered mules and a mojito (they are strong wow) and then we ordered the papas bravas, which were delicious. The best part was my entree--the lobster mac and cheese. It was absolutely to die for and I'm not even a huge lobster fan. My friends got the chicken pesto pasta and the mix and match tacos. Both said their food was absolutely delicious as well. Can't wait to come back!

Came in for an afternoon snack, and expresso. Server was friendly and attentive. Menu had some great offerings. Expresso machine out of service. Server forgot what the soup of the day was when asked. Quickly returned with an answer being cream of mushroom so we gave it a try. It was not good and had too much cream in it for our liking.

Next was the fresh pretzel which was a great snack with a tasty dipping sauce.

The "Lobster" Macaroni and cheese was decent but definitely not what was advertised or expected. Having seen others reviews and photos I was let down. Disappointed and felt cheated as there was not a spec of any real "lobster" in it or even any taste of lobster. The bacon made it decent along with the sauce. BIG DISSATISFACTION with the false advertising as the "lobster" was just chunks of fake imitation crab. Menu or server should specify this as imitation crab giving persons the option to not have it. Probably would have tasted better without the fake imitation crab.

Should call it imitation lobster Mac or just remove the word lobster period. Or offer what is real lobster.

Been there gave it a shot & probably won't be back.

Although the service was great, prices reasonable and outdoor seating pleasant -- I found the food disappointing.

We arrived on a Saturday at 6pm, and had the steak, and polenta with short ribs. The steak was thin and overcooked, with mushy overdone brussel sprouts and decent mashed potatoes. The short ribs weren't impressive either. Serving sizes were on the small side.

We tried both sauvignon blanc and pinot noir, and received smaller glasses (perhaps 4 oz). The pinot noir was ok, the sauvignon blanc was below average.

So no, not going back. There are several excellent restaurants in the area that offer better.

I'm not gonna say much. Actually only one word. Amazing!! The short rib taco was freaking scrumptious! The jazz band playing was perfection. My heart and tummy are full!! Yum.

Came in for a quick bite. First time here.
Ordered the tapas fingerling potatoes, chicken tacos, and short rib tacos. The food was amazing and great portions! We were so full we didn't order any more food. The beers were great and everything was reasonably priced!
The interior was small and very cool! We ate at the bar counter. Our server was so attentive and friendly!
Will definitely be back for dinner!
