Speedy Glass

I needed to replace my windshield and Speedy Glass definitely lives up to it's name. I brought my car in at 9am and received a call around 12:30pm that the windshield replacement was complete.

I also want to give Roberto a shoutout. He did an excellent job in communicating Speedy Glass' process of the windshield replacement, explaining all the items on the invoice, and keeping me informed of the status of my windshield replacement. In addition, I have a slightly more complicated situation with my car insurance situation that requires specific information and Roberto was able to provide that accordingly without any hesitation.

This guys were incredible! Not only did they fix my windshield in an hour but I took my car in on the wrong day and they fit me in. Fast, friendly and had great communication. Highly recommend!

Speedy it was not. Despite spending a laborious amount of time giving details of my car (standard Q5) just for a basic quote it took them well over 24 hrs just to return a call. In the meantime I received a quote and appointment from another company wIthin 20 mins. In addition when I explained my issue to the female who returned my call, she showed no interest in dealing with any complaint. When I questioned her on this blasé attitude she just hung up!

Rude and incompetent is how I would describe my experience wIth them from this location anyhow.

I asked several times for a quote , was not given one. When I went by the shop to make an appointment it was 430 and the sign said they closed at 5. The woman was put out that I showed up, was not at all helpful and said she was closing( half an hour earlier than posted on the door.) When I asked why it said 5 but was really 430, she said " because of covid" If it were my business, I would update my info and abide by those posted. To boot why the hell would Covid have an Impact on POSTED closing and the shutting shop early!?!?. I ended up going to another shop in the area .....much better service.

Somehow finding a rear side window for my old toy truck was too hard for any east van glass shop and I tried a dozen .. I asked my mechanic in north Van for any tips and even tried calling all the lower mainland auto wreckers and no one said they could help me until my handiwoman suggested Speedy. I popped in to the York location and Ryan quickly found both a wrecker in Kelowna who had the window I needed, and also a brand new OEM piece from Toyota! We made an appointment and the next challenge was shipping but while that got sorted Ryan kept my truck secure and dry, updated me regularly, dealt with ICBC for me, and then returned it in perfect condition.

Junkie thieves are always a danger in Vancouver even if you leave nothing in your vehicle but at least now I know that if I get bad luck again Speedy can solve my problem.

Early February, I noticed a small hole in the rear window of my venerable 2,000 Buick Century. As I live near the ocean, I suspected a crow dropping shellfish from height. Whilst driving, the small hole increased, and eventually the entire window shattered.

I brought the car to Speedy Glass at 1868 York Avenue, Vancouver. The technician searched for a replacement window and informed me that this particular window was no longer manufactured, and there were no windows in all of Canada.

He suggested I contact a wrecker for a used window. I bought a window from a wrecker in Surrey and returned to Speedy Glass. The technician informed me that without a new seal, the resultant appearance might not be pristine. I said as he can use duct tape, or whatever, so long as it does not leak.

When I picked up the car later that day, the installation was perfect, indistinguishable from new.

I highly recommend Speedy Glass for efficient and reasonable cost of repair.

They turned a rock chip that was 1/2 inch wide to a massive crack that was 10 inches wide. Then they said they couldn't replace it because it would take too long. Took it to another shop and they said that it was likely due to the technician not using the right tools. Went from a fully covered ICBC claim to having to pay 200$.

Horrible experience with this location. I went in to get my back window fixed and after waiting hours, I got my car back and they did a HORRIBLE job. I couldn't believe it!! The Window lining was off, there was glass sticking out! I had to go to the Kingsway location to set an appointment and get it fixed again! When I went to the Kingsway location, the manager took a look at it and even he was shocked at how badly it was done. When I tried calling York about the issue, they never picked up their phone. I don't recommend this place.

Quick service and great customer attention. They're e getting busier now with all the ICBC free chip repairs, but they still repaired my chip quickly. I suggest making a reservation.

I was able to book an appointment to fix a ding on my windshield with less than 24 hours notice. The repair took only 20 minutes to do, and they even vacuumed my floors for me! :)
