Spine and Sports Physical Therapy

First time going to a physical therapist due to a car accident incident. My insurance company told me to come here and I had my first therapy session with Kevin T. He was so down to earth, professional, and amazing at what he does. I couldn't even turn my neck to the right or left and my muscles were "locked". I honestly was so tense from shoulders, back, and neck that I needed help.

After one session, I felt like I can turn my neck much more better and my muscles weren't as locked as it was. I was really shocked and happy that I have a little bit of mobility now. I have a lot more sessions to go to feel 100% myself again and looking forward to going.

Also they have a cute two year old pup name Tai who is a supportive pup and he is so freaking cute!!!!! Another reason why I look forward to coming back.

I highly recommend this place!

On my last day of therapy they didn't even acknowledge that it was my last day or evaluate if my issue was resolved (it wasn't). I called to ask what next steps I should take and they never replied. Still have the issue months later.

I was in quite a bit of pain in my lower back area and was happy that I received the care and attention of Dr. Angela Traverso. She was able to get me out of pain within a few appointments and her obvious care and attention to my issue was clearly evident. She is not only an excellent PT but a person with an outgoing personality that is a joy to work with. Thanks, Angela for all your good work!

Strange way to run a business. I have called several times and always get the answering machine. Its says to leave a name and number and someone will call back. But no one calls back! Are they closed?!

Clean and comfortable office with friendly staff was my first impression. My pt specialist, Kevin Takao was very focused and compassionate about my chronic back pain that did not resolve since 2011 after my intense Muay Thai training. I have tried acupuncture, massage, and Kaiser PT just gave me a booklet of exercise i should do at home, but nothing was done for me during the visit.
I am so glad that I went to see Kevin because, 1) I don't have to live with the pain any more, 2) I now know what my issues are, 3) I feel confident that my concern us Kevin's concerns and he will take a good care of me. Thank you so much, Kevin!!!!

After unexpectedly being hit from behind on the freeway in 2017, I found my way to Spine and Sports Physical Therapy. Angela Traverso, (Concord), worked with me prior to, in between and after my eventual 2 surgeries, (Shoulder & Achilles). She listened to my "story", asked questions and identified specific issues. She also respected the fact that I was a 58 y/o Masters Swimmer and had goals to get back to competing at a high level. I spent over 2 years with Angie. The treatments and exercise programs she provided were successful in my recovery and second to none. She is professional, extremely knowledgeable, trustworthy and has a great personality which helps during those challenging moments that creep up on you. I highly recommend Angie and the Spine and Sports Physical Therapy team. They're the best!

I would love to recommend Spine and Sports Physical Therapy in Concord, California and their exemplary team. It is a positive, welcoming and friendly environment. All staff are professional, and knowledgable and work together for each patient. Much attention is spent on cleanliness and safety. All must wear masks, and wash their hands. Temperatures are taken and it was spotless. I was incredibly lucky to work with Physical Therapist, Hanah Kropf. She is the best person that I could imagine for my therapy after a full knee replacement. She is not only a Physical Therapist but an Athletic Trainer. Her father is a Physical Therapist and she grew up watching him enjoy his work. She studied at University of Michigan and did her internship at University of Utah. She is extremely smart and very well respected by her peers. Many of her peers mentioned that she is admired by all. I was fortunate to have Hanah Kropf as the best Physical Therapist, who helped me to recover from a full knee replacement. I feel 100% ready to go back to my job. She concentrated on how to walk correctly, balance, bending, stretching, endurance and I feel like she did the best job possible. After my exercise session, I left feeling like I got the most out of my time spent there. She used tools like the Graston to massage and relax my hamstrings, and The Game Ready Ice Machine which was awesome and the icing on the cake after workouts. Few Physical Therapy places have this machine. It is used by large sports teams and athletes and is an expensive machine. Hanah will meet with you for a visit to discuss your therapy needed. You will be so happy with her. Pain or surgeries are not easy. You will need a physical therapist to get you back to the best physical health. Thank you Hanah! I look forward to coming to you again when I have foot surgery later this year. You're the best. Also thank you to Shane, her assistant. Once again so friendly and kind. A gem. He treats people like gold and concentrates on getting you rehabilitated. He is preparing to be a Physicians Assistant and is doing his internship hours while working with Spine and Sports. I have been coming her due to a chronic back pain issue that I got a few months back (trying to save money by lifting shingles to our roof, dumb me). The urgent care physician that saw me said that some PT will help and that I didn't need surgery. He recommended Spine and Sports Physical Therapy in Concord as he heard a lot of positive feedback. Fast forward now and about 5 visits already and my back has healed very quickly. My PT, Amadine, has been amazing. She knows exactly where I have a new 'knot' that I've told her I felt days prior. The rest of the staff has also been amazing. Kylie takes the time to show me the techniques and let's me know if I need further improvement. I have taken these exercises and have done them at home and at the gym. Now, whenever I feel uncomfortable from back pain, I do some of the stretches and exercises, and the release is almost immediate. I highly recommend Spine and Sports - Concord.

I have now been to Spine and Sports for 3 separate injuries separated by several years and can say that Stephanie runs a great place. All the therapists were top-notch, the appointments process (a difficult task under any circumstances) is excellent, and the mood is always positive and supportive. I will be needing more work done and will be going there.
