      Terrible customer service with tone of ageism and racism. The boy MJ especially. Rude. Will scream at you in store and then say condescending religious remarks when you ask him to speak to you as a human being.

      The lack of training and professionalism from this individual is vast. Just order from Amazon and save yourself the headache.

      Would be zero stars if it allowed me to.

      I had a really amazing experience here at Ace Hardware located in the Richmond District in San Francisco. One of my lightbulbs (not a standard one) shorted out, and I was worried about finding the right replacement.

      Only about 3 minutes went by as I was looking at the vast selection of bulbs available, I was approached by an employee named Kenny, who asked if I needed any help. Kenny took the initiative to ask me questions about the bulb, helped me find the correct one, and gave me some great advice on installing the bulb and making sure I handled it correctly during the process.

      The thing that made the experience amazing, was Kenny took the initiative to help me, genuinely assisted me, and graciously made me feel taken care of and welcomed to the store!

      In this day and age, finding employees like Kenny seems very rare, and Ace Hardware is extremely lucky to have a brand ambassador like Kenny to continue building on its reputation and representation.

      Thank you so much, Kenny, for helping me out today. You truly went above and beyond in customer service, and I will definitely return specifically to your location for any household needs and repair.

      I guess I went when "Kenny" wasn't there. I needed to take a piece of furniture apart that was held together with bolts with a head I didn't recognize. I picked out a multi-bit screwdriver with a bit that looked like it might fit, and I asked the guy at the counter if he could tell me if it would fit. I had one of the bolts with me. He wouldn't even look. He just said, "No." When I repeated my question, he said to ask the other guy.

      Well, I asked the other guy, and he also told me very rudely that no, he couldn't tell just by looking if it would fit or not. Why you so mad, bro?

      Anyway, I guess I just stood there, frozen in astonishment, so the guy, very visibly annoyed, grabbed the screwdriver in the package from my hand and stomped off toward some thin shelves that contained individual bits. He then made a big show of sighing and shaking his head while he tried different bits on my sample bolt until he found the right one. Then he thrust it at me, saying, "HERE! Jesus!" and he walked off in a huff.

      I mean, I could have done that. He could have been polite and said, "That's an Allen head, and you don't need a whole screwdriver. Right around this aisle, on the right, there's some thin drawers marked 'ALLEN WRENCHES' and you can find all sized there. Just see which one fits your bolt." Had that happened, five-star review.

      And if the owner is still "Jordan," please don't reply and say it was a "miscommunication." Either take ownership of your employees' bad attitude or don't, but gaslighting complaining customers is not the way to go.

      It is small town feels in this overly stocked little shop.

      They attempt to cram just about everything you might need in every inch of interior space they have. Oftentimes, I'm redirected to the kitchen place a few doors down.

      Let me tell you, it is super weird for me to be told to just finish up my shopping a few doors down. Like, I haven't even paid for the item in my hand and they'll be all, "oh, just go to the kitchen place and pay for it there." I am not used to this level of trust! But perhaps I have that look of the type of person who would over-buy in a kitchen supply store. (It's my weakness!)

      The child easily finds things he can't live without and checkout is a breeze.

      If you need something and they don't have it, it's probably at the kitchen place a few doors down.

      This store has everything! Amazing selection! I have found that other stores are not as diverse! These guys are awesome! I could not decide between 2 products and they helped me compare them line by line. Invaluable service ! I value my experience and my purchase!

      On my trips to Ace this year I've gotten excellent advice from the staff. Recently I asked which plumbing kit would be best for a DIY toilet report, and without any hesitation Arnold pointed me to a very reasonably priced Korky Universal Fill Valve kit. The kit is American made, and the component design and instructions made this a no-brainer, nearly effortless repair.

      I used to shop here regularly because it was a very convenient hardware store in the neighborhood, but the prices have become just ridiculous... I now take the extra time to go to Lowe's and Home Depot. $8.99 for a standard roll of electrical tape? You've got to be kidding...

      Worst customer service I have seen. Very rude employees talking down to an elderly person. The old guy bought a bag of concrete and asked if they could help him load the concrete to his truck. They denied the service and said should of thought of that before coming to the store and buying something you can't carry yourself!! Very disrespectful specially to and elder! One of them said if you pay me $20 I'll do it but otherwise you are on your own. Never coming back here worst ace I been to ever!

      If you know what you want and what you're doing then this place is ok to get your project needs. If, however, you want advice, or even someone who even pretends that they care about your questions, look elsewhere. I can forgive ignorance, but rudeness, apathy and incompetence are not a great combination.
