I went in today May 22nd, 2024 to get an EMG test done and I was super nervous. Reading about people's experiences with the EMG test freaked me out as they stated, "super painful" "uncomfortable," etc. However, Dr. Rider (neurologist) and Franklin (technician) made my appointment very comfortable and go by quick with ease! They made my experience to what I thought was terrifying to leaving the office super happy and satisfied. Although I can see why this test may be uncomfortable for others, let me tell you, you are in absolutely awesome hands here. Don't be scared. Dr. Rider and Franklin were both very attentive, caring, and patient. They both made sure I was comfortable the entire time, kept consistently checking on me to see if I'm good and constantly asked if I needed anything more. This is one of the best experiences I had with doctors in general. Great energy and definitely you will get above and beyond quality of care here. I'd recommend this clinic to anyone who needs any sort of neurology care. 10/10. Thank you Dr. Rider and Franklin you guys are amazing!

I am taking my mom for her CTSCAN once a year, every year. Staff are knowledgeable, kind and helpful their instructions are clear and they are going extra mile to make sure they meet all the patients needs. Scheduling is easy and flexible with time and date. They provide translator if you are not fluent in English on your request. So far we have no issues with insurance procedures. This is a great institution.

      Here to see the neurosurgeon.
Building has been open since approximately January of 2016.
      What can I say...it's Stanford!!!
Very clean and still has the new car smell.
Every body here are super helpful and friendly.
Check in is on 1st floor, where you are greeted by an usher. The receptionist gives you a scan card and your off to the 3rd floor where you scan your card on a wall computer...(very cool!) And wait for your doctor in there waiting room.

Physicians and all staff are compassionate and knowledgeable; however, this facility is not equipped to take care of complex neurological disorders. They do not have enough ancillary staff. For example they contract out their physical therapy. Staff in general seem to be too stretched.

This is a hard one to write. I've waited a few days to do so. I saw Dr Miglis for testing for autonomic dysfunction. I've been home bound for months. I've used Stanford Hospitals & Clinics exclusively for over 10 years. The doctor was late, not giving me any feedback, disappeared, did not follow thru with any direction after I just saw him and he just left the room to get a blood test before I left..... test results are in but I have to wait till next year to hear about them? WTF. I've seen a lot of disappointing things since Covid with Stanford. Guessing the MANAGEMENT is the problem for these doctors. It shows because I overheard another patient being told upon her arrival that her appointment was next month and not "today" although she had received a call leading her to believe otherwise. You guys have spent a lot of money on beautiful buildings.... But if you cannot actually serve your patients in some meaningful way in a HUMANE timeframe, what is the POINT?

Having been an employee of Stanford in the past- specifically medical billing for Neuro and a few other depts, I've always known that I'm in good hands with any of their teams. I've been scheduled for full c-spine fusion down in San Diego and made the last second decision to come to Stanford instead. Today I established care with Dr. Anand Veeravagu, of whom I've gotten to know as a reputable MD through my work. He not only is the first MD to give me the actual name of the spinal disease I've had my entire life, but he has also recommended that I hold off on surgery due to my age! It is so nice to know that he has my best interest in mind and isn't just trying to throw the scalpel at me. The clinic itself is top notch. Clean as a whistle. COVID supplies (masks, gel, tissue) everywhere, easy check-in process, etc. I checked in downstairs and literally as I was walking off the elevator, I was called back. The entire process was smooth and everyone at the Neurosciences Bldg was super nice. I also want to mention how quickly my X-ray order was submitted. I was able to leave the clinic and go down to radiology immediately and within 10 min tops, I was called back. I am soooo glad that I decided to come to Dr Veeravagu. I recommend him or any other MD in his clinic!

Dr. Lock is an outstanding neurologist. He is always willing to listen to my concerns/questions and address them accordingly. He takes the time to go through treatments, preventative care, and medications, while explaining it in simple terms, so that I don't have to have an M.D. to understand. He is very kind and has a wonderful bedside manner. I appreciate his specialized knowledge in medicine in addition to his kindness. I know that Doctor Lock really does care for me as a person and I would recommend Doctor Lock to anyone who needs a neurologist!

I came here today with my parents, as my dad is a patient here. I have to say, as someone who has experienced several neurology practices, this clinic is as good as it gets. First off, so understanding that we were 25 minutes late because we were stuck in the nightmare that is Bay Area traffic, which is important when these appointments are hard to get.
The thing that impressed me the most was the care that the patients receive. Every doctor comes to the patients exam room and everything happens in an efficient way. My dad's neurologist is just a wonderful guy with a great bedside manner. He is open and honest and really puts things into perspective. Next his pulmonologist is sharp, insightful and is very thorough. The support staff is wonderful and really make patients and their family feel heard, cared for and like this process really is a team effort.
I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone who needs quality care. Although we come from 3+ hours (today's trip took 5 hours), I would not want my father getting care from anyone else.

Very organized, efficient, and friendly. I saw Dr. Desai for an exam and Dr. Miller-Kuhlmann for an EMG/Neurology Study.

It took months to get into the clinic, and I am so grateful to finally be seen by multiple specialists here. These doctors are used to dealing with complex cases and they don't give up if an answer doesn't immediately present itself. They also hold conferences with each other and other experts to discuss your case, each one bringing their own specialty and expertise to help decide the best possible treatment plan for you. My specialty neurologist came up with a treatment that greatly reduces my daily pain. The other specialists are working hard to find answers for me, and you can see how much thought they put into your case. All the staff there is super friendly. Everyone is super diligent in answering all your questions and responding on the portal.
I had one bad experience with a doctor here, but landed up being referred to an even better one.
If you aren't getting help from your current doctors, don't give up. Find new ones. I don't believe we have to just deal with our pain and fatigue.
