Starbuck Canvas Works

We have used Starbuck Canvas for years and have always been more than satisfied. The Starbuck Canvas Crew has made custom awnings, dodgers, salon cushions, and dinghy covers for the Hasty Heart's (succession of sailboats) in our life. They take pride in their work and want everything to fit well. When Aldred says, "let us know how it fits," he means it. This place does quality custom work in a timely manner.

Starbuck Canvas has a nautical, jovial, inviting atmosphere. You park and go up the stairs into their large open workspace. There are usually a few people measuring or stitching things who look up and smile 'hello' and go on with their work. I am usually greeted by one of the owners at the top of the stairs. I have a good time whenever I pick something up or stop by to visit. The staff is genuinely friendly and one of the owners, Aldred, always has an interesting tidbit or story to tell. I highly recommend this business. It's a good experience all around.

Starbuck made a wheel/binacle cover for my sloop. The work was excellent, the custom tailoring first-rate, the service congenial, the rates are fair, and I will use them again. They're very busy so don't be in a big hurry, but they are worth the wait!

Aldred made a wonderful dodger for our classic yawl. We wanted a much lower profile than the previous one, measured to my exact height so I can see over the top which is so important for our busy San Francisco Bay. It has been about 5 years since he made the dodger, during which we took a 2 year South Pacific cruise, and it still looks perfect, no loose threads, all snaps are functional and the window plastic is even unscratched! I just recently met the team in the loft, and they are a friendly, helpful group.

Wonderful to do business with Aldred and his amazing team of craftsmen and women. They just completed an aft enclosure on our trawler that fits perfectly and is exactly as we ordered it.
