You know that rare contractor you find that does great work and you're not dealing with headaches along the way or afterward? Or if there's a problem they come right out and fix it? And they have the same great small crew so you know who you're getting? And they don't try to oversell you? And they are very reliable? Well that's Steiner Solar!

We've used Steve and his crew for probably 30 years. They've replaced and repaired systems on our pool over that time as we like the pool quite warm and to extend the pool season and solar heat the spa on the cooler days.

I can only count on part of one hand, the contractors we've dealt with like Steve @ Steiner. He's kept the same employees which tells you a lot.

We don't even bother getting other bids. We'll only use Steve. Steiners prices are reasonable. Once they start the job they are efficient getting it done they don't leave you hanging. But be sure and call well ahead as they're so good that they're booked out. I would guess that they have many many repeat customers. Steve is a heck of a nice guy too which is a plus.

Everything went as expected, and Steve is very responsive and responsible. I had both EV and pool solar installed 3 years ago. I've had two problems totally not Steiner's fault and Steve took care of everything without a hiccup.
He is totally a small local business and can charge less as he runs the show. No pressure, no salesperson getting a commission. I would recommend to my friends that they be sure to get a bid from Steiner's for their solar needs.

Steiners was able to fit us in early, we had an appointment weeks out. Steve came out and he was super polite and professional, an absolute expert, and went above and beyond.

We have a connection blow loose on our roof. He fixed that, showed me photos of before and after, and checked every other connection after explaining what was done incorrectly in the past.

He also spent way more time than I would have ever expected to explain things to me about my solar controller and pool pump system that no one else has. We've been in this home a couple years and been through a few pool and solar folks, and I've asked them questions, but never got simple clear answers like I did from Steve, and he volunteered it.

He also identified some improvements we could make, but was not pushy at all. He just said he'd write up an estimate from the office and send it in case we ever want to pursue it and only spent time on site to explain what it would be for and why it would be a good idea.

Steiners is the only company I want to use now. Steve really seems like a super knowledgeable and friendly guy. Service was amazing, even after climbing all over the roof in a heat wave.

After my first review I was contacted by the manager . He apologized for the work not being done while the crew was here. He immediately sent them out and they fixed my leaky pipe right away. I would give them 5 stars except for the length of time from my contacting them until I was contacted back.
I will definitely use this company again. Very happy with the work that was completed. The manager was extremely nice and concerned about getting the job done.

Inverter was showing an error that called for a replacement. SolarEdge provided a free inverter under warranty. It took Solaredge about 1 week to get a new inverterer delivered to Steiner.

Once Steiner Solar received the new replacement inverter, they came out the very next day and swap it for me and got my whole system back up and running.

Total cost = $0 (Free replacement and install)

Overall, still a pretty happy customer :)

I just needed to take some time to write a quick review.... we had Steiner solar install our pool heating system a few years ago, and everything has been fantastic from day one! This review, though, is related to their service. We have many squirrels around our house and unfortunately they have caused damage to our roof and to our solar system a few times. And on the occasions where we've needed a service call, everybody at Steiner has been fantastic to work with, quick in response, and reasonable in their repairs! Sometimes it is hard to find a company that not only sells/installs good products, but also provides excellent customer service after the the fact... and we continue to be impressed with Steiner!!

Just finished installing a PV solar system with Steiner Solar. Overall I am very happy with the communication from Steve, craftsmanship from Mike and Drew, and now being able to generate our own electricity. I appreciate Steve getting inspection and PGE paperwork done so quickly after install so we could get our permission to operate notification ASAP. As with all things Construction, be sure to be patient. If you're debating between a big box installer or Steiner, I highly recommend Steiner Solar.

We hired Steiner's to installed both solar for our house as well for our pool. We could not be more pleased with how the whole process went. Steve was the most thorough when coming out to house. He inspected roof and shade to give us the most accurate proposal. He is not a pushy sales person, which is very nice to deal with. His small but seasoned crew was reliable and went over and above when doing the project. Very happy with how everything came out and is working.

Steiner was recommended by my pool repair person, John Craft. Called once in November 2021 and Steve was going to come look at my solar, I actually spoke with a lady and she said he was going to call me. Never heard from him. Called Steiner on March 4, 2022 and spoke with Steve, he promised to come look at my solar and he said he would not flake this time. Never heard from him. I guess they are too busy. Oh well.

Revised Review: Steve came out to my house today and he did a great job explaining what I needed to do to my solar. He'll get back to me with some quotes, thanks Steve.

I've got to add my opinion here to about Steiner Solar. Things I loved...

* Small family business
* No pressure to buy
* We wanted the cash option.
* We wanted a different inverter. They got it for us (SolarEdge Wave HD
with EV charger + Monitoring System)
* Process was smooth
* Install was very fast, they were clean and had it running without issues.
* Steve got all the paperwork done (permit, PG&E) done quick.
* Nicely painted all the pipes in the garage and on the side of the house.

The SolarEdge inverter Wave HD is beautiful looking compared to other units on the market and it's super small.

That's it. That's all I wanted and they exceeded my expectations.

I do highly recommend giving them a chance.
