I love getting my hair colored Pink at Stem Salon. When I come to the salon for service or just to pick up products everyone is so friendly and helpful. I'm so happy Stem salon is my go to hair salon. I get many compliments on my hair style and color. I always have someone asking "Where do you get your hair done at " I've been coming to this salon for years now and wouldn't go anywhere else. Catie does an amazing job keeping my pink hair color fresh and fun ! Thank you Catie

This post is long overdue! RACHEL is my go to person. She is knowledgeable about the industry, passionate about what she does, and it clearly shows in her work. She takes the time to assess and listen to her clients needs. Her transparency and excellent communication throughout the process far exceeds my expectations. Thank you Rachel for once again and again making my hair golden and POP! I highly recommended Rachel, you won't look back trust me.

I came in for a fix-it haircut (I got butchered at super cuts). Ramina took her time with my hair and fixed it. I thought we were going to have to chop off all my hair but she saved me. Definitely going back to the professionals at stem salon next time!

Also, I've never been to a professional salon and felt intimidated but everyone was super welcoming and nice!!

Ramina is a wonderful and talented hairstylist. I came in after getting butchered haircut at another salon. She saved me. She took her time with the initial consult. She listened to what I want and explained how she was going to cut my hair. I told her that I could not afford to lose anymore length and she delivered. She explained to me how she would have done my hair differently vs the previous salon. She styled (curled) my hair beautifully! She was worth every penny. I've been getting a lot of compliments. I can't wait to go back! Thank you Ramina!

First time to the salon today. Ramina gave me a great cut and styled my hair nicely. She took the time to discuss the cut I wanted and explained different options and made suggestions. She is a lovely person and has a good eye for hair. I've already scheduled my next appointment with her.

AWFUL.

I had a horrible experience at this salon and do not recommend it to anyone. I spent five hours in the chair and paid hundreds of dollars only to still be having issues caused by their products and stylist.

I chose a stylist, and showed her my inspiration. After five hours, I looked in the mirror and was stunned. I said "I can't see anything". Yup. It looked nothing like what I wanted. It was not a balayage.

The stylist assured me that it would get lighter and look different. Oh yeah it does. My hair now a few weeks later looks like I dyed the whole thing light brown. It does not look like a balayage at all. I've had five done in my life and this was the worst.

In addition, my hair has been so dry ever since I got it dyed. Again I've had this done before and was a professional swimmer previously and my hair has never felt worse. Whatever product they used ruined my hair. It's so dry and gets so tangled it's awful.

So not only did I sit in a chair five hours, pay hundreds of dollars, but I got a lousy job done that wasn't even what I scheduled for (full hair dye versus balayage) but my hair is still recovering.

Yes you can choose a different stylist, but they are an absurd price. And their products are all the same. I also did a lot of research and yet... I still can't stop thinking about how awful and scarring this has been. And she wasn't even the lowest tiered and said she was about to get promoted.

Also, as a working woman, not being open on Sundays makes it really hard to find time to get a dye job done in general. I took time off work for this and it was for a wedding and you couldn't even tell anything had been done at the wedding and now my hair is ugly.

First time at Stem and my stylist Missy was AMAZING! Being over 50 and having never colored my hair before she guided me in the right direction and gave me exactly what I was looking for... sun-kissed touches on my brunette hair. Salon staff was friendly and helpful and I overall had a very nice experience. Found my new stylist and salon!!

Mariah at Stem was fantastic. Really listened to what I wanted and executed perfectly. Great stylist, wonderful atmosphere. Pricey but that's pretty standard for good hair!

Tessa has been my hair stylist for over 5 years. I see her every three weeks. She is the best, most professional, perfectionist, and kind. I love her as a hair stylist and now as a friend. She works so hard to perfect my hair and make me look beautiful. The salon itself is beautiful, clean, modern and uses the best hair color and other products. Liz is the lovely owner and is sweet as pie! Thank you for the years of service.

After moving to the east bay from san jose where I had a salon I loved for 4+ years I was so happy to have found Kyleigh at Stem Salon. She's the kindest soul and really cares about her client's desires.

Before my first appointment Kyleigh took the time to answer all my questions on Instagram and figure out what I wanted before I came in.

I wanted to brighten my hair up, I had a lot of solid black underneath and through out my hair that I wanted to get rid of. When I went in we talked more and she made sure it's what I wanted. And boy did she deliver!! I've attached photos for reference of my after. 2nd photo

She also recommend the scalp line from Oribe which has completely changed my hair now. As an esthetician I have to wear black at work everyday and it was such a struggle to keep off the dandruff. The Serene Scalp line is so amazing and now I barely have any.

8 weeks later I went in for a haircut and mentioned my budget with her. To this she kindly suggested a purple shampoo to brighten my blonde instead of doing toner as well. I couldn't appreciate this enough. 1st photo

I'm going in for toner before my holiday trip and I wouldn't let anyone else touch my hair now!!

I went to stem salon after getting terrible extensions from a salon a few blocks away. I AM SO GLAD I FOUND MISSY! She does an amazing job and does not settle for anything less than perfect. If there is anything poking out or bothers me in anyway, she is there to fix it for me. This is important to me because I too want perfection for the price I am investing into extensions. Missy knows this and really takes what she does seriously. You will walk out of there feeling like a new person! Can't recommend Missy enough!

I am hooked and incredibly happy with my new look. I started with one row of 18s (pictured below) now I get 22s and I am obsessed!
