Just wrapped up the 6-week challenge at StrengthCampSF, and it was amazing! I wanted to lose fat and gain muscle, and this place delivered big time. The gym setup is super easy to follow, and the coaches are awesome. They help you with workouts, make sure your form is on point, and even push you to lift more if they see you can handle it.

One of the best parts was having a personal coach during these 6-weeks who checked in with me every day. They made sure I was eating right, eating enough protein, and keeping track of my weight goals. This daily check-in really kept me accountable and motivated. Jeremy my coach was awesome, he would respond super quick to all of my text messages and encouraged me like no one has ever have to continue weight lifting and continue eating healthy while maintaining my protein intake every day.

The coaches at StrengthCampSF are all about helping you hit your goals. The atmosphere is super supportive, and everyone there is really friendly. If you're looking for a gym in the Bay Area to get stronger, look better, and feel better, you've gotta check this place out. Highly recommend it and the 6-week challenge!

I been going to a commercial gym prior to signing up for Strength Camp SF.
I had my nutrition down pretty good for most part prior. Cutting out bad foods and got the protein intake pretty close to ideal daily goal.

Commercial gyms have gotten more and more crowded, with equipment being taken up with people taking breaks on their phone for excessive amount of time. Any although they open late the crowd doesn't die down till later in the evening. I use to go in during these later hours get a decent work out in for 2 hours because there is still so much down time waiting for a station. Going to those gyms later in the evening eats into my sleep time as I have to work early. Also equipment just broken from people being way too rough on it despite the lunk siren LOL.. membership is cheap but that also makes it easy to not care and not show up for yourself when it's not ideal.
When I tracked the stats. On a "good" month, I'd show up and work out maybe 14 days in the month. So of course the results were slow.

I guess the algorithm helped me find Strength Camp SF as I pass it practically each time I commuted to the gym. I'll be honest I never noticed it prior to going. Drove by and usually either a Muni bus is blocking the view from the street or just too focused driving down the street. Anyways, I clicked the link and checked out the reviews and saw they do community group events. I saw they had a 6 week challenge and I was hey why not? The location was closer to be too than the commercial gym so that was a plus. Made my appt. Got the info and sure it costs a bit more than I was accustomed to but it still is more affordable than some other gyms. I was told for the challenge to show up for the classes 3 days a week minimum.. heck If I had to pay more im going to get my money's worth. So I showed up everyday, forgot about even going to the commercial gym for the meantime. The classes max out at 20 people a session. That makes for no overcrowding, set time for work out instead of having to wait for crowd to dwindle down. MORE sleep.

First week, I already knew I made a good decision to pick this gym. The workouts were good. One hour of working out really got me dripping sweat and feeling like a good workout rather than wasting away 2 hours for a mediocre burn at other gym.

The coaches are great. They watch your form and help advise corrections so you don't get injured. They show you how to do the exercises, by doing a demonstration. This is helpful especially for new people who may not be familiar with certain exercises. They encourage you to push through when you're gassed out or know you can move up to a heavier load. They're respectful when you need a little break to catch your breath. Very approachable group.

The folks that attend class vary from experience, fitness, and strength levels. Everyone is on their own fitness journey and pace. But, I like that when the people show up they're collectively bringing the energy level to make it fun engaging. It's a nice camaraderie. We all want to see each other get stronger and healthier. Smaller group w/ good ventilation also less chance of running into smelly gym issues..

Now that my 6 week challenge is over. The results were noticeable in the first day and last day of challenge photos. My Dexascan results showed everything going in the right direction (dropping body fat and adding lean muscle tissue), at a rate much better than when working out at the commercial gym. As a results person, the cost of membership is worth it to me. The equipment/ facility is gradually getting better as the gym is relatively new but the fundamentals of what I look for in the gym is there.

One side note of commercial gyms being affordable is that even a bum can pay the membership and have access to showers bathroom etc.. I have seen homeless/vanlife or some filthy people come into the commercial gym to use the facility.. sure legally they can't turn them away.. but hell you wouldn't want to be down wind when they pass by..

Don't have to deal with stinky people, lazy people, condescending meat heads, broken equipment, unavailable equipment, etc.. At the commercial gym, they say it's a judgement free zone but .. really I'm judging them inside. You can probably guess what gym I gone to before. Commercial gyms are like showing up to a job you don't like.. sometimes you go in and you regret it.. but you have the job. At Strength Camp SF, I haven't regret it one bit. Results come when you keep showing up and putting out effort. You don't gain 20lbs overnight so don't expect to go from normal to hulked out over night either.

I joined strength camp sf in February and been attending classes very regularly. I love the enthusiastic supporting energy from the group and from the coaches! Never in my life did I ever thought I'd enjoy lifting and working out as much as I do right now.
What first attracted me to SCSF is that a lot of the reviews on here were from women..classes are very diverse from gender to age which I love. They are also very accommodating, I was going out of town for a little over a week and the manager Jeremy made sure my membership was paused for that time so that I wouldn't get billed until the week I came back.
My only regret is not joining sooner! The coaches always believe in me and encourage me to do better.

I joined Strength Camp as a 6-week challenge participant. My main goal was to increase overall strength to prevent injury at work and decrease back pain (which I've been dealing with since my teens). Even though I wasn't 100% disciplined with the nutrition part, the nutrition coaching and accountability check ins (every day!) with Jeremy kept me on track! I did 3-4 classes a week, and had even better results than I was hoping for! My pain is mostly gone, now I usually only feel soreness from working out
I have definition in my arms, back and legs starting and my waistline got much smaller! My posture improved and confidence is definitely better. All the coaches are approachable, motivating and kind, and available during all classes to check form, and give alternative exercises if something hurts or doesn't feel right. And folks cheering each other on, even when we're new and don't know anyone yet, makes for a super welcoming and motivating environment!
And When the turf was looking dusty, the coaches responded with getting a good new vacuum and taking care of it themselves in between cleanings!
I was NEVER a regular gym goer, couldn't seem to find or keep the motivation, but now I can't wait to get to the gym first thing in the mornings before work, and miss it if I don't go!

I recently completed the 6 week challenge and I can confidently say that I feel so much stronger!! All of the coaches were super supportive throughout the entirety of the program and held me accountable for my nutrition/protein intake. The coaches are also very attentive when it comes to technique and ensuring that we are all lifting safely. I would 10/10 recommend this gym to anyone looking for a nice workout environment. It is both beginner, and experienced friendly (:

Great studio! Love the environment in this gym, good vibes all around, an awesome group of people to workout with (I attended the 7pm class) and a great, enthusiastic trainer who led our workout (big thanks, Janet!) Wednesdays are full body conditioning and, boy, did I feel the burn. For one entire hour Janet had about 10 different workouts for us to do on rotation which incorporated medicine balls, flutter kicks, burpees, resistance bands, squat jumps, weighted ropes, kettle bells, and more, muuuch more! Hoping to return to Strength Camp again soon, especially for the six-week transformation once I'm able to do so.

UPDATE: I had to deduct one star for the false advertisement for the six week full body transformation. I thought it was a misunderstanding on my part after I was informed by the gym that the transformation was $699 for six weeks but continued to see advertisements on both Instagram and Facebook for a FREE six week full body transformation. It's upsetting that this is what I thought I had signed up for when clicking "SIGN UP" on the ad only to have been allowed one free class and then presented with pricing for memberships as well as a $699 fee for the six week transformation. This is not right. This advertisement lacks honesty and integrity.

I found Strength Camp through a Facebook ad for their 6 week challenge.
I knew strength training was missing from my workouts, but didn't know how to effectively incorporate weights into my routine.
Coach Jeremy met with me to discuss the program and designed a nutrition plan to support my goal of losing fat/weight and gaining muscle. This combined with strength classes 3-4x per week helped me achieve a 5 pound fat loss in 6 weeks.

The group classes are challenging, fun and effective. I can't recommend them enough. Jeremy was there to give me 1:1 support as needed during my first few weeks. All the coaches are great. They are knowledgeable, encouraging and consistently create a fun, high-energy atmosphere. There are several fitness and skill levels in every class, and everyone is really supportive and helpful.

I feel stronger than ever and am now more confident about how to weight train. If you are hesitant or intimidated to try this program, know that you will find a safe and motivating community at Strength Camp that will help you to achieve your health and fitness goals.

I joined Strength Camp SF about 2.5 months ago when I decided to do the 6-week challenge. Coach Jeremy walked me through the program and was always available when I had questions about diet, form, nutrition, etc.

I definitely struggled the first few classes but then I started to hit my stride and began enjoying the different circuits and exercises. Jeremy and the other coaches were always around to guide and push you to your limits. I also appreciated the varying skill/strength levels of folks in class. I never felt out of place and the coaches were always supportive and welcoming. You also very easily begin to build that gym community which is awesome.

One thing to note: this isn't a typical commercial gym with several machines and you are left to do your own thing. Instead, the gym is structured via classes that are capped at 20. After a dynamic warm-up, you focus on a big lift, then switch to accessory lifts, and finally, a speed circuit to get your blood pumping. You will always leave completely sweaty and the fixed time limit and constant tempo ensures you're getting the biggest bang in 60 mins.

At the end of the 6-week challenge, I lost around 15lbs of fat while also gaining muscle mass and feeling much stronger in my lifts. I continued my membership and went on to hit new PRs in all my lifts!

I initially started going to this gym in April 2024 as part of their 6 week challenge. Immediately I noticed the friendly, welcoming environment at this gym. I do other sports as well, and this was the first gym where I was immediately made to feel at home. My first day I was greeted not only by the staff, but also by the other members. They have a rag tag (lol) team of coaches as well. Each with different personalities, but all very kind and bring their own flavor to the day's workout. The gym is set up with 3 group classes in the morning and 3 in the evening 2 blocks that focus on strength and the third focuses on speed. This structure works great for me because going to a regular gym I always found myself lost on what to do. They also typically have 2 coaches per class that observe and help everyone in the class with form and technique. The coaches here will push you, not to injury, but to strength that they know you have, even if you don't know that yet yourself. During my 6 week challenge, I worked closely with their coach, Jeremy. And in that time span, he became my best frenemy. He helped me with my nutrition, which is my biggest hurdle. He also pushed me to lift heavier than I ever thought I could while simultaneously putting up with my constant eyerolls. No topic was off limits with him and he made sure to make it known that there was no such thing as "TMI" for him and that he was there to help me, which helped keep me going on days that it got hard. With all of that said, and I could ramble on forever, all of these reasons are why I went from a 6 week challenger to a full membership. At Strength Camp, I found the gym I had been searching for and I'm so grateful to all of the staff and other members. It is a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. If you're ready to get to the next level, whatever that is for you, the coaches at Strength Camp will definitely get you there. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

I would recommend Strength Camp to anyone who has the goal of getting stronger. The team here at SF has created an absolutely amazing environment that not only makes you feel safe but also motivates you to do better. I'm very new to lifting, and the coaches were all more than accommodating. They show you how to do everything and make sure to watch your form to make sure you're doing the movements correctly. I felt safe and able to try heavier weights than I had ever done before. I came for a month because of their Black Friday Sale and will probably come back when my goals better align with the program.
