About the Business
Established in 2022. Welcome to Super Smash Burgers – where the worlds of retro gaming and gourmet burgers collide! Born out of a love for classic '80s & '90s video games and an obsession with crafting the perfect burger, our journey began in the heart of Vancouver. At SSB, we blend nostalgia with modern culinary techniques, creating burger masterpieces that teleport your taste buds back to those joystick-wielding, button-mashing days. Our beef? Sourced from The Butch Langley, a family-owned butchery, ensuring every bite is local and sustainably crafted. Every burger tells a story, from the Koopa Crunch Fries to the Sonic Rings, and we invite you to join us on this pixelated, palate-pleasing adventure. Dive in, level up your meal, and discover why we're not just another burger joint – we're an experience!

Yelpies you don't even need to be tripped up on acid before entering here!
Trust me on that!
The strobe type lighting throughout Glitch Retro Arcade Bar (where Super Smash Burgers is situated) will send your mind on a bender and or cause a serious migraine to occur!
Or your brain could simply glitch.
Tonight was Trivia night so if you're into that - come check it out.
This is a retro 90s bar with arcade games, cool signage throughout & it gets loud.
Service was odd tonight.
Got seated at the bar & took forever to get anyone who worked here to take our order.
Eventually I tapped a waitress walking by & she took our orders.
However, they didn't have every burger available, no shakes (how on earth do you not have milk shakes available in a retro bar?), no poutine & a few other items - nada.
After figuring out what was available, we were able to order a few burgers & sides.
The burgers were just meh - 6/10.
The fries so so. Onion rings - sad.
Everything seemed a bit too salty for some reason.
We all looked at each other after we ate & said - wow too much salt.
What a bad night!
Thing is I've had burgers here before & they were Dyn-O-Mite!
Don't believe - well then go to my review for Mimi's Burger.
Not sure where Mimi's disappeared to, but I miss those burgers!
Now I'm going to give this joint one more chance sometime in the Spring so I hope for a wayyyyyyyyy better experience!?!
We shall see.Helpful 36Thanks 6Love this 17Oh no 7Business owner information

Hey Shonah!
Thank you very kindly for your honest review! Feedback like yours is absolutely critical to growing.
We can't speak to the service as that is out of our domain, but we have definitely passed the feedback onto the Glitch Ownership team.
We are really disappointed to see that we missed the mark on your meal.
We were pretty short staffed due to the transit strike so we weren't able to prep everything and that meant that we unfortunately had to take items off the menu.
We would love to have you back so you can get a true taste of our burgers, we believe you will be pleasantly surprised.
We use a chuck and brisket from black angus cows from a butcher right here in Metro Vancouver, so its as local as you can get.
Again, we really thank you for your feedback and we will definitely take it onboard to make improvements.

I love their burgers, so fresh! I order from take out, and the last few times I have ordered, I got a cool sticker and a personalized message. Highly recommend. Also, I met the owners, they are an Indigenous and Queer owned small business.

I got a burger and fries and they were absolutely fantastic! The servers are extremely kind and the service is excellent. A great place to eat if you're just looking for some good food or a fun time at Glitch!

Hmmm. Well, I loved the smashed burger that used to be at this location. This one is sort of similar. My burger was a mess - half laying out of the bun and haphazardly put together. But hey, that might have been the chef's 3rd burger of the day as his iPhone rang and he was distracted? But the fries. Bloody hell. They smothered the crap out of them with some spice blend (paprika, cumin and tons of salt). I was so looking forward to some great fries with the burger and then I got these things. Even if I wanted them with this seasoning, they coated it with 8 times too much. I had to throw them out and I was hungry. I would have rated this a 2 star, but I think the chef of the day might have been the one who blew it on the burg and the amount of nasty fry dust. I will give it one more try and give special instructions for straight up fries next time and see if they can do it. Also, with tip, it was $23 which was steep.
