Sushi at Tough City

Arrived around 4pm on a Monday, had the patio to ourselves where we wrapped up in a blanket from a stack at the restaurant and the service was good. More casual dining. But it's right on the water. Watched boats and sea planes moving around. Do yourself a favor and order the tuna sashimi.

When you get tired of paying 8.50 for French fries and five star hotels that charge $33.00 bucks for pasta try Sushi at Tough City. You'll get a warm greeting, fast service, excellent presentation, great food and it won't break the bank. Can't recommend this place enough. This is from someone who has worked in the industry for 50 years. Five stars. Oh yeah, and the view is spectacular.

Just don't do it. It's a sushi place from 1980 in Iowa. Not good fish. Not good kitchen stuff. Sorry but just not good.

Came here on a Wednesday. Apparently, many restaurants only open thurs - Sunday. So limited selection

Arrived at 5:41, seated at 6:16.

Service: was not asked once in how the meal was.
Food arrived fairly quickly

Been here a few times and is always good. However last night they turned off the lights and music while we were still eating in an effort to get us to hurry up and leave , it was awkward and rude when you pay $200 for dinner.

The seafood is absolutely astounding but it's
definitely pricey. 2 appies & a house sake cost roughly $30+

This is the one place we have to go to each time we visit Tofino. The owner and staff have great character and are very accommodating. With Covid 19 craziness all around we should all have patience and be forgiving of challenges faced by businesses.
Enjoy the atmosphere and view and you'll be treated by amazing fresh food and friendly service. We've never been disappointed.

Overall great restaurant. Come here if you're looking for phenomenal sushi and beautiful ocean-front seating. They don't take reservations, and the wait time was very short (around 30 min for a group of 5). Service was quick. Don't believe the nasty reviews--this place is phenomenal.

Disappointing. Tasted and looked like grocery sushi.

Ordered the toro nigiri and it didn't look like toro nor did it taste fatty or delicious. If you eat toro at any good sushi restaurant it is a soft pink color, tastes fatty and melts in your mouth.

Wouldn't recommend.

Actually worst sushi I've ever had in my life. The location and view is nice but unfortunately the tough in "tough city sushi" does not lie. If you want rotten fish and bowel issues for the next 24 hours then this is the place to go.
