Great combos for dinner and lunch available at Sushi Nova and it was their $31 Nova Special Combo that drew me here for take out dinner, adding on a special roll making it a variety-laden meal!

Nova Special Combo - this came with a choice of beef or chicken teriyaki, sashimi, aburi sushi, tempura, karaage, salad, sunomono, and any roll of your choice (classic rolls). This would be a great choice for 2 people to try a little bit of everything. The teriyaki was tasty and the meat was tender while the karaage was a little bit over fried. The tempura being take out was already soggy and again, a bit tough but their sashimi was fresh, the correct size and with the combo, a great price! The chopped scallop roll was our choice and although there isnt much filling, they more than make up for it with their chopped scallop topping! Rice is also well flavoured similarly on their aburi which was not too dense and had a great sear.

Voltex Roll - california roll base with spicy tuna on top, seared and with spicy sauce. This roll was quite good with an ample amount of spicy tuna topping that had little crispy bits. The amount of rice on the roll was good and there was only a light drizzle of sauce allowing the flavours to stand out.

Overall, nothing amazing but for a nice variety at a more than reasonable value, sushi nova is a good choice for sushi in this neighbourhood!

My go-to sushi place when craving good sushi - also when order take out or delivery . Love the Voltex Rolls.
Tuna Belly on a spoon is delicious.
Not a fancy place but good taste and good value.

This place is 'fine'. We ordered a number of things; sashimi, maki rolls, some appetizers (tako yaki) etc and my main was the tempura udon. I don't eat shrimp, and usually most places are happy to sub the more expensive shrimp for a couple extra veggie tempura instead.

The chef decided they (would not) do this for unexplained reasons. Ok fine. Maybe inventory is very tightly controlled etc. but the soup itself was just ok. Not a lot going on in the broth. Mostly cabbage and one lonely and very tiny broccoli.

They ended up giving me one extra broccoli tempura in the end. Side note, I did notice that the tempura oil probably needed changed due to the flavour of the batter.

Sockeye salmon sashimi was fresh and tasty. Tako yaki was also pretty good. But I wouldn't recommend the udon for the price it is as it was very plain.

Amazing sushi! Cute little place that looks like it's got it's take out business down. We enjoyed the spinach goma-ae (nice sauce flavor), chicken karaage (a bit dry), sockeye salmon pressed sushi (amazing), and some rolls (all delicious-soft shell crab and the volcano roll were so good). Didn't leave any room for dessert, but maybe next time!

This place has big bento boxes. One of my kids got the Tokyo bento box and it was enough food for two people. Everything was pretty good but the chicken karage was dry and flavorless.

Tempura was good here. You can tell they changed the oil because the fried batter was on lighter color side unlike the typically dark brown you get from many places that use old oil.

I got the assorted sashimi and it came with big thick cuts of sashimi. Most place serve super thin slices these days.

The lunch sets are really good value for money in the $20 range with a lot of variety of items in the set. The california rolls were surprisingly large and were actually 8 rolls (4 rolls stacked in two rows)

The tempura had the perfect amount of crunch and was very fresh and not soggy at all. The sashimi was high quality and delicious

Amazing food! I got the Nagasaki udon and nothing could have prepared me for the size. It was huge. It was so tasty, it had scallops and shrimp and mussels and cabbage and the cost was very reasonable. The yam tempura was the best I've ever had. The servers were nice and the tea was lovely.

I highly recommend this restaurant. Small but cozy, nice ambience. The staff was very attentive!
The food was absolutely delicious and the rolls are very big! We were a party of 8 and we were very pleased with our food.
I will be coming back for sure to try more items in the menu.

I used to eat at this spot when it was sushi bella which was on the recommended list when I moved to Van several years back. As Sushi Nova, Ive ordered take away several times and usually it always includes salmon oishi, torched sushi yet I tried placing an order a few weeks ago for the guy to tell me oishi is not torched even tho I've eaten it many times, perhaps it was a miscommunication but that's why I deducted a star. I have tried their spicy tuna, dynamite, salmon and tuna maki and chicken oyakodon. All good, can't say for dine in as haven't tried post Covid. They have a pick up window which is good for safety precautions but their customer service to place orders can stand to improve.

We ordered a few rolls, and everything was tasty. Service was good and so was the ambiance. Staff is friendly. Not the best oshi (green leaf and minami are better) in Vancouver but it's still good. The seafood yaki soba had a lot of seafood in it, and it was good as well.
