I came here because it had 4 stars. I rated it a 2 and that's being generous because they didn't make me pay for 2 pieces of sushi that tasted so fishy I almost gaged. Sorry this is not a 4 star sushi place. I'll keep looking for a good sushi place in the area.

Food was amazing, although a little expensive. However, we ordered on DoorDash and we didn't get any utensils, chopsticks or soya sauce!!! How do you not put soya sauce in an order of sushi!

Good food but simply too expensive. When you are charging 25$ (mandatory tip included) for lunch you are getting a little pricey. Also please explain why you pay 4$ more for take out rather than dine in? You know you are gauging customers for a 35cent take out box. Careful this makes people not come back. Oh and your sashimi is way too thick. Mars bar thickness is a little much.

I wanted to treat my family to a delicious sushi dinner, but had no idea where to go in north east Calgary. I decided on Sushi Toki based on its location and the almost 100% 5 star reviews on yelp. I was not disappointed. We were greeted promptly by a friendly server who explained the menu to us, since it was our first time. We started with Gyoza and assorted Tempura. The gyoza we savoury and hot. There was a generous amount of tempura which included four large prawns and a variety of veg, such as sweet potato.
For the main course, my daughter enjoyed the Teriyaki beef. It was a huge portion of Kobe style beef with onions and mushrooms. We shared four rolls: the Fire Dragon, spicy California roll, regular California roll and the Calorie roll. These were delicious and fresh. Check out my photo of the sushi and you'll see what I mean.
Do yourself a favour and check out Sushi Toki. I will definitely be going back.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Heather V.Calgary, Canada286866Dec 21, 2015
Finally found another sushi place close to home after my beloved Aji closed down!
This place rocks! The sushi is fresh and they have unique and traditional rolls. Their Sushi Pizza was a hit! We ordered an extra one, for science, to see if the crunchiness would last the drive home as we order takeout a lot...it did and was quickly devoured. The Rock and Roll was pretty spectacular as well.
The prices are perfect here. Most sushi places around me are quite expensive for subpar, rice heavy rolls.
This will be our new regular place for sushi!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Cecilia N.Calgary, Canada01711Sep 21, 2020
I got take out & it was my first time trying this place! I got spicy salmon roll! it was tasty but SO small. I usually eat from kinjo and 8 rolls fill me up! I expected it to be similar in size as most sushi restaurants are but when i got my rolls, they were tiny in comparison!! they were very small and honestly not worth the price i paid. I was still starving after eating 16 pieces!! the taste overall was pretty okay, but not worth the price because of how small the rolls were.

Two stars because of the customer service. Sushi was good. The girl serving us had major attitude problems. Ordered for 2 adults and 3 kids aged 9-12. She firstly brought us table settings for 4 along with a pink plastic plate and a fork....wasn't sure what/who that pink plate and fork was for. Went ahead to ask her for an additional setting as we were missing one (saucer, chopsticks, little sauce dish) she asked why i said we dont have enough n she walked off, brought back a sauce dish. I walked up to the counter and the chef handed me one. Never once did she come to check on us during our meal but the asian guy behind us she was constantly there asking if they needed anything. My family is mixed, indian and black as well as my daughters friend whom was white. Felt very uncomfortable I believe she is racist as it showed in comparison with other asian guest there. We sat quietly the entire time. No one even came to ask if we were finished, i walked up and asked to pay! I have never not tipped well 25%+ but this was absolutely ridiculous. I gave her zero tip as this was unacceptable. I will never advise anyone to go to this restaurant.

This is bar none the best sushi place! I have not tried a lot on the menu but what I did try was fantastic!! Tempura California roll, beef yakisoba! And to finish deep died bananas with black sesame ice cream. And the service is awesome, friendly respectful young men cooking and serving!!

So we decided to order sushi yesterday and I wanted something more so I called and asked for noodles with vegetables, now not much vegetables in what he gave me but had mushrooms and tons of beef, and holy cow it was the best I ever had!! I love this place!!!! Just warmed up leftovers and my mouth is singing no joke!

My go to sushi spot in Calgary! This hidden gem never fails to disappoint. The sushi rolls are always fresh and tasty. The service is always up to par! My favorite is the spicy salmon sushi roll. Can't wait to try more!
