My new favorite Mexican restaurant! Wow!! The stars are earned and correct.

We got the Al pastor burrito bowl: huge, fresh veggies, and generous servings of guacamole and sour cream. They did not skimp on the meat and it wasn't salty at all.

Their pink hot salsa was fuego, my personal favorite! But their pickled red onions... one of the best I've had in a long time.

And their large margarita? For $10? A STEAL!! It is HUGE!!!

Service? Super! All the workers are nice and do a good job.
      Parking? Easy!
Bathroom? Super clean and well maintained!
Location? Easy to find, it's in the plaza across Trader Joe's, near Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market & Bio Life.

      I'll definitely be back!

This place had popped up on a few of my social media pages and since we were in the area, we decided to see if the hype was real.
Like most taquerias, you order at the counter and hope to find a spot to sit. The inside is small but they do offer outdoor seating as well. We were lucky enough to snag a booth indoors but with how busy this place was, i could see how it be quite a task. Menu is fairly typical of any other taqueria but I love that they have camarones a la cora. I also noticed listed menu prices are not what you are charged. I know the camarones a la cora were $19.99 but my receipt said $20.79 and the enchilada plate was $12.99 but the receipt said $13.51. And no, it wasn't the price plus tax because tax was a separate additional line item. I didn't notice until the next day but I'm assuming the listed menu prices are if you are paying cash versus card.
They do offer a very nice chip and salsa bar. We tried out 4 different salsas and enjoyed them all. My daughter had a birria torta and it was a little thin and bland. The birria was seasoned well, but was just nothing to write home about. Her boyfriend had queso birria tacos and said they were good, he just wished the consome had more flavor. They kind of resembled Jimboys tacos. I had the cheese enchilada plate with red sauce and it was the same as any other place. Kinda hard to mess up cheese enchiladas. I will say the beans were a tad bland though. My husband got the camarones a la cora and I ended up eating most of it because it was so good. It had a nice little spicy factor to it too. They also came with tortillas that seemed made in house and were very good.
Food came out at varying times which kind of sucked. I was almost done with my enchiladas by the time my daughter's boyfriend got his queso birria tacos. Other than that, service was great. They even somehow made an extra enchilada plate and let us keep it at no charge.
Overall it's a decent place and I'll for sure be back for a Michelada and the camarones a la cora!

I had previously been here a few months ago and had tried their classic burrito but wasn't impressed with the beans and rice (I'm very picky with those) and had hesitated to come back. We decided to give it another chance and ordered food via DoorDash because we were too tired to drive for takeout or eat in person.

      We ordered various items:
      1. Menudo (only served SATURDAY & SUNDAY) - it was so flavorful, delicous, and well done. They packed the condiments I could add which I really appreciated.
      2. QuesaBirria Traditional Taco - it was good in flavor. This item is probably best to eat in person since the shell of the taco was soggy.
      3. Cabeza quesadilla - it was delicious and very cheesy.
      4. Jumbo Burrito - we requested they make the tripas crunchy which they did and the burrito was AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!
      5. Fire/Habanero salsa - their Salsa was spicy and so delicious and it had me crying at some point because of how spicy it was but this is perfect for me and the way I prefer them.
      6. Pineapple aguas frescas - we ended up getting delivered a cucumber one. Even though it wasn't the right one, the cucumber one was delicious so we weren't disappointed. It tasted very fresh.
      7. Churros - We ended our meal with this and they tasted fresh. They weren't chewy and could tell they weren't day old churros. They were most likely made that same day.

We didn't take any pictures because of how hungry we were but if you are thinking about getting La Perla, DO IT! They are worth a chance!

I have been living in the Arden-Arcade area for 3 years, and just recently discovered this taqueria. Everything that I have tried has been delicious and the prices are reasonable.
I am especially a fan of their Taco Tuesday Special in which you can get street tacos for $2.09 each. My favorites are the carne asada, pastor, and chorizo. Did I mention they offer complimentary chips with a variety of salsa?! I definitely would recommend checking them out.

This is a quality neighborhood taqueria. Order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. Self serve chips and salsa bar that has a good selection of salsa and sauces. The food as flavorful and served quickly and hot. I had the Quesabirrias tacos and they had great flavor and plenty of meat. My only gripe was the shells were a little soggy from the meat juice and began to fall apart as I picked them up off the plate. That being said the value for what you get is good.

Sometimes I am suspect on tastes and reviews when it comes to Mexican food. But I have to say the 4.7 stars average is well deserved.

I really enjoyed the food, the staff, the atmosphere, it was all great. The only thing is did not like, which I know is common at many restaurants these days is they have a cash price and a higher price if using a credit card. It always bothers me, but I do understand to a point as well, fees are charged when using CC's, but still I don't like it.

I got the Bistec a La Mexicana plate, came with a side of rice and beans as well. The Bistec plate is carne asada, jalapeño, cilantro, roasted peppers all chopped up into small pieces, perfect to go into the corn tortillas the served on the side. I really liked Bistec and rice, beans were so so.

They also have a salsa bar and a chip station, love that. All kinds of salsa, (I got the spicy habanero salsa, it was very good and pretty spicy) radishes, grilled onions, habanero onions, etc. yum!

This is Family owned and a nice local spot, that if I lived in Sacramento, I would be a regular. Go and support this small business and get some great food.

      Enjoy!

Tried this place out due to good reviews but was slightly disappointed with the menudo that I ordered. It tasted good but it was watered down. It lacked flavor. The taco plate specials we got were good and the carnitas burrito was very filling. They have a nice salsa and chips bar too. Service was nice and the place looks very well decorated.

Very happy to have finally come here. This place is very clean and the dining room is like an upscale fast casual feel. The staff was very nice. The salsa bar was kept in immaculate condition and the salsa options are fantastic. Shout out to the pink habanero salsa that is so tasty and spicy.

I ordered the tripas tacos (tripas cooked extra crispy) as well as the pastor tacos and some quesabirria tacos. The quesabirria tacos were good; I liked the consume but my brother felt it was too oily. The tripas tacos were great and the pastor, while maybe not really traditional, was also very good. My brother loved the tacos camarones and the special salsa they came with.

I would def come back here. Very good experience.

Came here for lunch when I was in the area for a work training. Everything was delicious! I loved that they had a self serve chips and salsa bar FOR FREE! These days a lot of places charge for chips and salsa. Staff was very friendly. Plenty of space to sit inside or outside. I highly recommend this restaurant.

It was girls night out, and we decided that we wanted to try a new local taqueria.

Taqueria La Perla Tapatia, is located in a strip mall adjacent to Trader Joes. Parking is free, and fairly plentiful.

We arrived on the earlier side of the dinner hour since it also happened to be taco Tuesday.

The taqueria is set up where you order at the counter, and they will bring the food to your table. It's a fairly small restaurant, and in the blink of an eye, the place was absolutely packed with people, dining in, as well as, getting food to go.

When you order at the counter, there is a help yourself salsa and chips bar. There must be at least half a dozen or more salsas to enjoy. The chips are OK, but nothing to write home about.

The taco Tuesday special is roughly 2 dollars for each street size taco, and the meat serving is fairly generous. Each taco comes with a nice amount of your choice of protein, cilantro, fresh onions, and depending on the meat that you've selected, it will be topped with a salsa. All super yummy and filling.

The Birria taco comes with a side of consommé. I found both to be fairly underwhelming. The crispy Carnitas taco, which had a wonderful guacamole and sour cream topping was absolutely divine.

I ordered a side of the refried beans with cheese. I found the beans to be tasty, but also underwhelming. They were lacked seasoning.

The watermelon aqua Fresca was really good! Not too sweet, and served chilled. Just yum!!

The customer service is absolutely top-notch. Even though this isn't a restaurant that has table service, they do have staff walking by to check on the dine in customers, and make sure that everyone is enjoying their respective meals. The food is incredibly authentic and delicious.

This was a great evening with friends, and a tasty meal on top of it. It's definitely worth checking out, and the price point is pretty reasonable.
