Q:
Is there outdoor seating here?
A:
Not really. And note indoor seating is loud with soccer every time we go in. We get take out and it's so delicious it's worth the trek and parking hassle. (Note you also typically have to park in a loading zone across the street - again SO WORTH THE… more

I was excited about this place. This region is underrated for great Mexican food. That is not to say it does not receive accolades, but I prefer Mexican food in Northen Cal, more than Southern Cal.
This place is near SFO, which itself is in the middle of nowhere. It's tiny, but also big enough to accommodate a few small parties.
I had hoped to get a burrito, but it had been a day full of food and I only had a taco left in me. The Taco was massive and worth every buck. The chips were also tasty and the spicy salsa made me wish I was married to a Mexican woman.
This appeared to be a family business, and everyone was happy and polite. I couldn't recommend this place any moreHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Chris O.San Jose, CA197931Aug 9, 2024
I live in San Jose and despite going to SF regularly, we
d never stopped in this neighborhood before. After eating at Taqueria San Bruno, it will now become a destination for satisfying cravings of delicious Mexican comfort food. I'm a simple man and usually order just a bean, rice, and cheese burrito, and a carne asada taco if I'm extra hungry. Both were exceptional here. They were extremely friendly and efficient in getting food out quick and when you taste it, consistently amazing from dish to dish.
A bonus for me, as a fan of El Farolito in the Mission SF, was that Taqueria San Bruno has a near identical salsa verde to Farolito's, which is my all-time favorite condiment. All of their salsas were delicious and had at least a little heat in all of them, which I respect and appreciate.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Yevgeniy V.Downtown, Sacramento, CA013Aug 18, 2024
It's pretty good but I wouldn't get it again due to the price + time to wait, almost 30 minutes.
The overall service was good though.
Don't get me wrong the burrito was good but could be better. IMO it had too much cheese and the rice was too soggy & mushy. I prefer Spanish rice that's harder and has more texture.
I considered giving 3 stars but 3 stars is when the food doesn't taste good so I gave 4.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 24, 2024

If you're on the hunt for fantastic Mexican food in the Bay Area, look no further than Taqueria San Bruno. This spot delivers on all fronts, from their mouth-watering dishes to a salsa bar that is arguably the best I've encountered in the region. The moment you enter, you're greeted with the vibrant and inviting atmosphere of a classic taqueria. The real highlight, though, is the salsa bar--an impressive assortment that caters to all taste preferences, making it a perfect complement to any dish you order. I've never seen complimentary salsa cups this big before!
For lunch, my group decided to sample a variety of their offerings. We started with the asada quesadilla, which came with a side of guacamole and sour cream for an extra dollar. The quesadilla was packed with flavor, and the guacamole and sour cream added a creamy richness that elevated the dish. We also ordered two lunch plates, which allowed us to try a range of their meats: asada, lengua, carnitas, and al pastor. Each meat was cooked to perfection, with the asada being tender and juicy, the lengua rich and flavorful, the carnitas crispy and savory, and the al pastor offering a perfect blend of spice and sweetness. These plates were a hit among our group, showcasing the variety and quality of Taqueria San Bruno's menu.
While the food was exceptional, parking in the area can be a bit challenging. However, with a little patience and willingness to drive around the vicinity, you'll find a spot. This minor inconvenience is a small price to pay for such a rewarding culinary experience.
Overall, Taqueria San Bruno comes highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Mexican cuisine. The quality of the food, coupled with the best salsa bar in the Bay Area, makes it a must-visit spot.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - May 26, 2024
Visited Taqueria San Bruno recently and had a mixed experience. The portions here are ginormous, which is great if you're really hungry! I ordered a wet burrito and an asada plate. The wet burrito was pretty good, but I wasn't blown away by the flavor or ingredients. It felt like it was missing that special something to make it stand out.
On the plus side, they give out free chips, and the salsa is nice and spicy, which I enjoyed. However, the place was quite busy, and finding parking was a bit hard to find. I had to park under the freeway bridge. Overall, it's a decent spot with generous servings but I expected a bit more given the rave reviews.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 19, 20241 check-in
Starving when we landed at SFO, this place was close by. Ordered their breakfast burrito with al pastor and it was bomb. Huge and stuffed with beans, rice, meat, sour cream, and whatever else you want. Their small salsa bar is good too; the tomatillo green sauce was excellent. Would definitely stop by here again.

A true hole in the wall experienced!! Nested by the freeway and surrounded by industrial buildings. I would not have expected a Mexican place here.
I was surprised at the crowd and how the lines kept forming! I ordered a super burrito and a taco. They were delicious!! Full of flavor!Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - 246235537May 2, 2024Updated review10 check-ins
Taqueria San Bruno has been my favorite taqueria in the Bay Area ever since I tried it 5+ years ago. It's a popular spot and the lines can get very long during lunch and dinner. But the staff are always very friendly and the food is always consistently good so it's worth the wait.
My favorite item on the menu is the super burrito with shrimp and carne asada. The price has been climbing up. It was $13 the first time I ordered the burrito and now it's up to $16. But even at $16, I still think it's a great value. The meat quality is great and they portions are generous. And unlike most taquerias in the area, your meal comes with complementary chips and salsa. Speaking of salsa, the salsa verde here is perfection! It's spicy but pairs wells with everything on the menu.
Parking is extremely difficult to find near the restaurant. There's one spot in front of the restaurant that is reserved for quick pickups but otherwise, you'll likely have to walk a block or two to find a spot.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 1Dec 5, 2020Previous reviewAll the reviews on this page are correct - some of the best burritos in the Bay Area! We got a shrimp super burrito and a carne asada burrito. Both were great. Shrimp were so plump and juicy. Carne asada had so much flavor and had crispy bits.
All orders come with chips and salsa. We ordered to go and they are generous with salsa. They come in pretty large individual size containers. There's a green sauce (spicy), red sauce (mild) and pico de Gallo (not spicy). Green sauce is my favorite. The heat builds up overtime so beware.
Parking is difficult. All street parking and not many around the area. There's a bunch of car repair shops around and there's signs that say not to park in the car repair shop lots. Food is worth the possible hassle! - Antonio D.Lakeshore, San Francisco, CA127119Aug 23, 2024
The service was great, staff super friendly, the restaurant is very clean, but the true star of the show was the food. I am so ashamed and dumbfounded that all these years I have been going to mission st sf whence on the quest to find the perfect burrito but all the while this place has been running in my own home town, San Bruno. The burrito experience was my idea of a perfect bite; Every bite that I took was just as good as the previous, my hands held it so secured so I wouldn't waste a morsel of carne asada, normally I would eat a burrito in 3 minutes, but this one forced me to savor every bite. The meat was moist, extremely flavorful and had a great sear, consistent all throughout. This is a hidden gem and from now on my go-to for the best tacos and burritos.

Food) 10 out of 10 would recommend! The pastor, green salsa, and onions was delicious.
Service) The staff is extremely friendly. Easy to order and they bring food to your table.
Ambiance) The inside space is a little tight. I would recommend getting there before lunch time rush or to-go!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Loi N.San Francisco, CA082173Aug 14, 2024Updated review
