Tawara Japanese Restaurant

Great sushi! I tried their chopped scallop roll, California roll, salmon and avocado roll, and spicy tuna roll. All were fresh and very tasty, but the standout was the spicy tuna roll. It was very spicy (don't order it if you don't like spicy!) but one of the best spicy tuna rolls I've ever had.

The staff were also very friendly and prompt with the service. They also divided our bill without us asking, which we appreciated.

Also, they did say that they had brown rice sushi "sometimes" (ie. I guess when we were there they had run out).

Great place for sushi if you're in the area.

I was pleasantly surprised by the sushi in this restaurant. It's in an unassuming business complex in Panorama, Surrey. Lots parking around the area.

The selection was good and the quality was good. It had good portions and flavour. The seafood was fresh. The sashimi was cut thick and the service was good.

Try the Naked Rolls ( Girl and Boy )
The Mango one was delicious as well ( forgot the actual name )

I am surprised that they haven't got more 5 star reviews.
This little sushi place is inside the Panorama Village Plaza at Hwy 10 & 152 St in Surrey.
Went there on a weekday for lunch with my customers. Four of us all ordered lunch bento which is good value in my opinion. Food came out fast. The tempura had a thin, cripy coating and not overly oily. It was hot when came to the table. Sashimi was fresh. The california roll in the lunch bento was also delicious and fresh. The portion size is decent. I could not finish my food. I usually could finish a bento box without any problem but the lunch bento at Tawara is more than I normally would get.
Service is also good. They checked on our table and added tea several times without us asking. They also not in a hurry to "get rid of you" when you finished. There were not many eat-ins while we were there but I noticed a lot of food delivery guys coming in to pick up orders.
Hope they will keep the quality of food and service. I will certainly go there again.

I came here for lunch recently and tried their Sushi/Sashimi Combo. The bento box came with 3 pieces of Salmon and Tuna sashimi (each), 1 piece of Salmon, Tuna, and Ebi nigiri/sushi (each), (Assorted) Tempura, Salad, (Fried) Corn Fritter, Rice, and Miso Soup. The miso soup, corn fritter, and tuna sashimi were okay as the soup was a bit salty, the corn fritter slightly bland, and tuna not super fresh. The salad and rice were as expected. That being said, the salmon sashimi, tempura, and the nigiri stood out as the salmon was fresh, the tempura was nicely battered and fried, and the nigiri were good. Given the overall quality and quantity of food at this price, it's definitely a fine meal.

I'm pretty surprised they don't have a better rating. I have been here twice now. Once for dine in and once for take out. Both times, the food was exceptional for the price point. But what really stood even more than the food was the customer service. They really value their customers and you can feel it.

This is more on the pricier side for sushi. However, I think the price was worth the amount and quality of food we paid for. The emphasis is that the quality of the food is better than the cheaper options. The highlight was the lobster roll. If you like lobster, then this is a good option without breaking the bank. It was beautifully presented and tasted great (tempura lobster with crab meat, avocado and cucumber). The dinner box was really filling as my date could not finish it. I enjoyed the spicy tuna combo which consisted of tuna sashimi salad and two rolls.

Service was good. Our server checked up on us to refill water. You pay the bill at the front of the restaurant when you are ready. There is plenty of parking on the plaza.

Some of the BEST sushi I have EVER had. Ordered off SkipTheDishes and was thoroughly impressed. From the portions to the quality of food. Miso soup was fantastic, the tempura was hands down amazing. The rolls were big and fresh and delicious. If you want some truly yummy Japanese food, this place is a must try.

DON'T GO THIS PLACE WESTING YOUR MONEY.
My favourite place is close on Monday,, so I decided to give it a try this place.
There food is NOT GOOD and OVER PRICE, the specials rolls is the same size your big toes and test not good I never go there again EVER .

Tawara is our favourite Friday routine. When the hubby and I would like to unwind for a simple date night after a long week, this is our go-to-fave. We love their Salmon Kama, most especially. My fave is the Mangodise Roll while my hubby loves their Rock Mountain Roll.

So this is more like a 3.5 and is based out on my take-out experience only.

I really likes the different types of rolls here...like wow the crunch roll is amazing! I wish I wasn't sharing haha! As well, I was also impressed by the Lover's Roll. We also ordered an Avocado roll and a Philadelphia Roll. Both were great and everything was on brown rice...which is always another star given by me.

One thing that did turn us off was the fact that my cousin found a bone in Lover's roll.
That made us weary about finishing the roll.

All in all I would order or go back here b/c the Crunch Roll was great and I'm curious about the rest of the menu.
