Terra Firma Farm

We are still a happy Terra Firma box family.

This season their little gems lettuce is - no exaggeration - the most delicious substance on earth.

We subscribed to Terra Firma's CSA for 9 months during the pandemic, rather than go to the farmer's market like we did in the before times. I will be forever grateful to them for helping to keep us safe and well-fed during those crazy times.

The produce was always so beautiful and fresh. It was a great value; the weekly box costs less than what I'd spend at the Grand Lake Farmer's Market-and a medium or large box was almost more food than 2 people could eat during a week of sheltering-in-place. They'll let you pause for a week; we did that a few times when we got too far behind.

This CSA has been around for a long time, and they've figured out how to diversify what they grow so you are not getting the same thing week after week. Each quarter, we got at least 30 different items.

As soon as we felt safe, we cancelled our subscription & returned to the farmers markets, but we really miss Terra Firma & are considering re-joining. Their food really is better & fresher than what you can buy at the market-and that is saying something! It is also very convenient-and faster- to swing by one of your neighbors and pick up a box.

Love my weekly box. I've been a subscriber for about 6 years. A medium box for household of two has been the right size, though I stocked up on extra supplies at the beginning of shelter in place. The produce is exceptional quality and our home cooking is so much better as a result. So grateful to these hardworking farmers for keeping us fed, happy, and healthy!

Love a terra Firma! I've been a customer for 18 months. I love the produce. I love that it's organic, local, and seasonal. It's been convenient to pick up. And I love that I can place my subscription on hold when I know I'll be out of town. Give them a try!

My family and I have been subscribing for 13 years and love supporting local agriculture, but also especially love the produce from TFF. So many favorites but I am a huge fan of their carrots, tomatoes (Chez Panisse is too), greens, grapes, sweet corn, melons, beets and their many types of citrus that come in the winter. Also our kids love going to Farm Day in the fall!!!

We are long time subscribers and are especially grateful to have our farm fresh organic produce box every week. We get both fruit and veggies, all seasonal and evolving as the year goes on. Amazing, gem of a farm and CSA! They have the best pistachios ever. We buy their lovely products at Rainbow Market in SF.
(I had thought they were a farm with a similar name in Petaluma where we used to live and edited my review since being informed that they are a different farm in Winters, CA.)

I subscribed to their CSA from 2014 to 2018 in SF and then moved, then came back and subscribed in 2020 in Sacramento. They have been supplying great produce, even during a pandemic. I love the variety of produce that they grow and everything is delicious. They have introduced me to foods that I would never have found in the supermarket or would have never bought, but ended up loving. They really care about their customers and you can tell they take pride in what they do. Their customer service is also very prompt whenever I have emailed them over the years. They send out weekly newsletters with recipes and are very honest with what is happening on their farm or on bigger issues, and I appreciate that. I also love that they deliver at many pick-up stops and they are always prompt, with well-packaged goods. I have talked to friends in other cities and they are really jealous that they cannot have a year-round CSA subscription like I do with Terra Firma. My LA friend said her supermarkets were out of lettuce during peak pandemic supply-chain destruction, while I was getting it each week. I feel very fortunate to have a Terra Firma subscription. I highly recommend them!

I was a subscriber to Terra Firma for nearly 10 years back in the early days, and then took a 10 year hiatus (?) and now am back - and I'm so happy to be! Their produce is beautiful and delicious, and has always been thoughtfully and plentifully packed with both fruit and veg. I have early recipes that I've kept from the first paper newsletters, and I love that now there is a historical catalog online. I also appreciate Paul's honest and direct newsletters about the farm and the state of our food, in general. It's important to be informed. Thanks Terra Firma for all your hard work and for feeding hundreds of families year round.

I've been using Terra Firma Farm's produce for many years now. Always fresh, organic and tasty! And now that I rarely go to the market for other things, I find I am becoming vegan. YUM!
