I was very interested in buying a Tesla and came in to test drive the Model S. I was invited to an overnight test drive after contemplating a couple of different cars. After scheduling a date and time for pickup, I received a call a week prior asking me if I am coming to get the car or not -- confused, I said that pickup was not for another week. The call ended quickly and I didn't get any follow up or confirmation that the time next week still worked.
Finally, I showed up to get the car at the scheduled time and was pressured to sign a waiver. I asked questions about insurance, etc. but was told to just sign because "Tesla will pay for damages anyway". The form I was asked to sign said the opposite-- that I would be solely responsible for insurance and damage along the way. After speaking with a manager, I decided not to take the car because liability was unclear. I had planned a little trip for the night as the salesperson encouraged -- without a car now, I needed to rent a replacement at my own cost.
A week now has passed and nobody at Tesla has followed up. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth and seemed morally and legally questionable. For a car priced similarly to a Mercedes S class and a BMW 7 series, I expect better customer service. Pressuring me to sign a release of liability form while being told I'm covered -- not good. Encouraging me to take the car for a trip and sending me out the door without offering to cover the incurred rental cost -- not good. No follow-up after a flaky in-store experience--not good.
This experience led me to look elsewhere. Other luxury car dealerships undoubtedly provide a better experience at the time of sale and presumably also for any subsequent service visits.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Apr 5, 2024
Staff is very professional and courteous. Once you get inside, it's beautiful and spacious. The waiting room has free drinks, coffee and snacks. Plenty of tables and couches to relax or get on your iPad:
I would give them 5 stars, but I'm. It crazy about the location on Van Ness.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 12, 2024Updated review
Had my car all day for a simple tire change, texted at the very end of the day that it wasn't ready. Second time in a row the service department didn't meet their self imposed deadline. They provided a loaner to soften the blow, but it hadn't been cleaned. Crumbs all over the back seat and a filled drink in a plastic takeaway cup sandwiched in the door.

I recently noticed a cryptic warning messaging in the dash that said "acceleration may be reduced." Some quick Googling suggested this could be a serious battery issue and I was worried this might be the end for this car. Fortunately the service team here at Tesla came through and were able to make the necessary connector repair, which wasn't cheap but didn't totally break the bank. My overall service experience was fine, however the timing of when the car would be fixed jumped around a lot which was annoying since this our only vehicle. They did offer a free Model 3 loaner once the schedule started changing dramatically. While it wasn't a perfect experience, I've had worse at other car dealers.

Kevin who provided the car for a demo drive cheerfully answered all my questions.
The next day I came back and spoke with Nick to discuss getting a car.
Kevin was off that day.
Nick was very professional.
All the numbers discussed matched the Tesla website calculator
(make sure to click the link to "Include Est. Taxes and Fees" to get your final numbers.
Taxes and Fees is not included on the last page " Est. lease payment" )
No games or sales pressure.
No waiting "Let me talk to my sales manager" and they let you sit for 20-30 minute periods then argue back and forth.
I appreciate Tesla's dignified sales process.
Nick printed out the quote.
After I got approved for financing, the numbers were different from the lender (Down, Monthly Payment, etc).
Nick saw the variance and changed the numbers to match the original quote. No bait and switch.
And the deal I got matched the Tesla website exactly.
Nick helped me through the process (Tesla App) until I took delivery.
Excellent service.
Ordered car on Saturday.
Took delivery the following Wednesday (delivery depends on the factory, not the sales person but my delivery was quick! Nick stated could take 3-5 weeks)
Fast and organized.

DO NOT go there. I had my car serviced (they worked on the suspension) and they forgot to put on nuts/bolts that connect the suspension to my wheel! Luckily I got rear ended so I found out about this otherwise it would've resulted in a serious accident!!!

Came here to get warranty work done as my driver side headlight went bad. Came in 30min early to my appointment in the morning and the service guys greeted me quickly and took me in early no issues. They told me it would take roughly an hour to get the job done. The work ended up taking 55min exactly so pretty accurate estimate. Got my car back with everything working and not a single scratch or dent from service guys. A+ work thank you!

I was told I would get an IRS tax rebate, even thought I told the salesmen my income. I cross-verified that information with another salesman who said, "just write it in and you will get the rebate." I had told them my annual income, and that I wold only buy a Tesla if I was able to get the rebate.
I was not told how to check online with Tesla that sends customers to the IRS.
Either salesmen are inadequately trained, are too busy trying to make a sale, or are actually dishonest.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Helena K.Richmond, Canada10502Jan 2, 2023

I am giving one star for the young man Kenny. He has a great personality and tries his best to resolve the issues. However, if your problem can be fixed by a certified body shop, I suggest you go there instead. I won't say more except that this service has made me lose interest in Teslas. It's a shame.

I took my car to Tesla for a recall. First- the person at the check in was rude and sent me away. I rechecked my appointment and returned to clarify. Then they "let me in". After I waited for 2 hours they told me it would be only an hour. . They checked in once to say I had to wait a little longer. Since the appt. My Bluetooth is messed up. There is no phone number or way to ask for help. The app is lame. Take your Tesla to a different shop for care-

Wow! The best tesla service center I have ever been to. In previous experiences in Berkeley and LA, it takes over 2 months to get an appointment but I was able to schedule one here for the next week. They had coffee and snacks and my repair was done in 30 min. I didn't catch his name but the person working on my car was a younger asian man with glasses. I am definitely going to look for him next time I have to come in. I had such a hatred for tesla service centers before but now I am glad to know I can rely on this location!!
