This is the worst supercharger I've been to. First of all you have to pay to enter the parking lot even if you are only charging. So I had to pay $6 for 20 minutes in an empty lot with everything around it closed. The chargers are also pretty slow for a supercharger. And there are only a few chargers. There's also no reception for neither your phone nor your car and no wifi either. Definitely go elsewhere especially since more options are opening in SF.

Avoid this location at all costs. In order to get to the supercharger, you have to pass guards at the gate and wait for them to laboriously and pointlessly explain the procedure to you. (If they ask if you've been here before, say yes.) Then you have to enter an underground garage and pay a fee, even if you're only going be charging for 10 minutes.

Since it's underground, there's no cell coverage, so there's no way to remotely check the charge status. So if you don't want to pay idle fees, you have to sit in the car in the garage the whole time.

If you want to go outside, there's only one exit, up an elevator and out some unmarked doors. But if you go through the doors, one of the aforementioned guards comes running over to tell you that you weren't supposed to be using those doors. If you then try to rightfully point out there's no other exit, he just reiterates the exit is closed and then walks away.

With all of that said, the charging is dead slow. If you have any other option, take it .

6$ Parking fee on top of your Charging fee.
      No cell service.
      No restroom.
      Everything is close.

If you can avoid this super charger
      AVOID IT AT ALL COST.

      Charge on a different supercharger.

Clean and bright supercharger, it's not free but the area is clean, take a nice stroll around the park while waiting. It's nice that the park and charger is empty during SIP.

A location may be the worst in California. A woefully inadequate number of SuperChargers is bizarre since there is plenty of space. My friend works at Letterman and shared there nasty stream of those who park their Tesla's in the spaces without plugging in. She also has a Tesla. I visited her today and boom (see photo). Thank goodness I wasn't the to charge.

They started charging parking fees 2 weeks ago. This was already a terrible location because of few spots and zero cell service but now it's not be avoided at all costs. Tesla, fix this please, this is only 1 of 2 superchargers in the whole city!

Very underwhelming. Only 1 charger out of 6 was working, and the parking fee seemed over the top. It also didn't help that cell service was totally blocked.

Worse place to supercharge but very nice place to be relaxing and getting a coffee. 6$ per hour to park for supercharging. The park is very nice and there are ducks and many trees for a mini hike. There is also a Starbucks. They should call this a "destination supercharger station".

      First to Review

This Tesla supercharging station opened end of May 2019 (so far the only one within SF city limits). Located at the Letterman Digital Arts Center underground parking structure, it has 6 charging stations. I think there are two additional ones that are handicapped. When plugging in, it restricts you to charging to a max of 80% due to the location being a high use station which I haven't encountered before. The location is bright and clean. There was a guard at the gate going in from Truby St that let me in when I said I was headed to the chargers. The lot charges you $6/hour 7am-6pm or $5 flat rate for evening and weekends. There is a bar called Sessions and a Starbucks nearby and Sessions will validate your parking to pay the $5 flat rate. The garage has spotty reception but you can follow the signs to Sessions up the stairs to get outside. There are limited interesting things around the manicured lawns like the Yoda fountain. The buildings look like they have badge access but when I was there the doors weren't locked so no badge swipe needed (but not sure what time they start locking). Sometimes the gate is up when leaving in which case you don't pay for parking but not sure when or how long that will last.
