My experience with Dr. Panero was fantastic! I came to him after 10+ years of low back pain and, more recently, pain in my hip and leg with shooting pain into my foot. I had previously been diagnosed with spondylolisthesis, but several attempts at physical therapy all proved ineffective. Despite this, a doctor I saw in 2022 suspected that the spondylolisthesis was the cause of my symptoms. When an early 2023 MRI (my third MRI total) came back totally clean, that doctor threw his hands up, out of ideas. So, I found Dr. Panero after many years of pain and firmly in the mindset that, at 37 years old, I would have to deal with the pain for the rest of my life.

Dr. Panero performed PRP injections into the facet joints of my low back and my SI joint to address the low back pain. The PRP injections led to massive reductions in pain and a huge improvement in my daily comfort and wellbeing. It is really wonderful to be able to sit for an extended period without being in constant pain! To date, the hip/leg pain with shooting pain down into my foot persists, as a cortisone injection eliminated the pain just for a short period. Dr. Panero has referred me to another specialist for a longer-term solution.

But long story short, after a decade plus of searching for answers, Dr. Panero is the only doctor who has helped me achieve long-term pain reduction (in my case, via PRP injections into the arthritic / irritated joints). Dr. Panero listened carefully to my symptoms and patiently chipped away at my persistent symptoms that several doctors before him had not been able to address. I high highly recommend him!

Excellent physician. Dr. Panero's injections and referral to a specific physical therapy office have been life changing. I'm grateful that Sacramento has this type of practice available.

Before you pay hundreds or thousands of dollars here, please read this. As a healthy, younger patient I have incurred additional, permanent pain as a direct result of stem cell therapy in this office. Be careful.

Months of my own, independent research led me to understand that stem cell/PRP therapy would either help me or not, especially because I was nearly symptom free most days. Never did I think that I'd pay thousands for a day of physical torture, follow weeks of recovery protocols and months of PT to end up in more pain.

The single round of BMAC/PRP injections Dr. Panero administered into my joint was some of the most intense pain I have endured. While he argued this procedure "went well" I have no doubts his navigation of the needle into the joint caused more injury, shown clearly on MRI. The same stabbing pain I felt on injection day is still presenting itself over a year later. The response from Dr. Panero about this has been cold and dismissive, and he's been completely non-apologetic about this situation.

So, if you are thinking of BMAC, PRP or ANY injections into your joints, stop and ask yourself if you are willing to risk more injury for an incorrectly placed needle. I would stay far away from here.

Dr. Panero is a regenerative health physician and specializes in PRP injections, stem cell therapy, and the like.
Dr. Panero is caring, friendly, knowledgeable, patient, professional, and well educated. Unfortunately while his office accepts insurance, most of the procedures he performs are cash or credit only due to not being insurance approved.
Thankfully I had a number of benefactors help make my upcoming procedure possible.
His office staff is friendly and helpful.
I'd highly recommend him to anyone suffering from chronic joint pain. There is hope. Nothing's guaranteed in life but he gives me hope and I'm determined to bust my ass again in physical therapy to ensure the best possible results. Dr. Panero is a superb clinician and diagnostician. His approach to sports related injuries, or other wear-and-tear issues and aging related issues remains the same. Independent of one's age, he seeks to provide optimal levels of movement and mobility (outcomes) and ensures one's understanding of the treatments and protocol needed. He is patient, thoughtful, and listens so carefully. Beyond all of this, since he has spent a good portion of his life as a professional athlete, he understands firsthand how any injury, or aging can affect one's overall health, wellness, and mobility. For me, I have unqualified trust in him and appreciate his skill and gentle approach. And he is just a fine fellow! If you have arthritis or are suffering following an accident, or sports related injury, etc., go see him. You will not, NOT be disappointed.

After enduring weeks of pain, (which was difficult for several medical providers to diagnose), in just one office visit, Dr. Panero was able to accurately determine the root cause of my pain, (stress fracture) and provide immediate relief with a comprehensive healing plan.
