Let me just say I love having the perks of airport lounges. That being said, I've frequented many airport lounges and this one can be a hit or miss but overall still much better than waiting by the gate.
It's smaller than most lounges I've been too and depending on what time you arrive, it can be so crowded. Like, children playing on the floor in the middle of the walkway. But the redemptive factor is the food. Hands down, this lounge has the best food of all the lounges. I think they even have special guest chefs from time to time. If you're sick of the lounges with lame charcuterie, come to the Centurion lounge for a legit meal.
You can do some wine tasting too and sit in some large comfty chairs, watch the news, and just relax.
The con is how crowded it can be. It's like elbows to elbows sometimes.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jul 20, 20241 check-in
This Centurion Lounge at SFO is very dependable in having available seats and offering great food/drinks & service. The space is very clean and spacious, and it really does give an opportunity to relax before a flight. There are a variety of seating options ranging from small tables, open seating areas, to personal "cubbies". Wifi works great here too.
The food has been quite good as well. I have been here for breakfast and dinner, and both times have had a wide variety of hot/cold dishes along with fresh fruit + veggies too. All in all, there is always something for everyone at this Centurion Lounge.
The area around the lounge is currently under construction, so don't be confused if it seems like you're walking the wrong way--the Amex Centurion Lounge is definitely still there and open!Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nicholas S.Indianapolis, IN0429Aug 22, 2024
Douglas at the bar was straight up offensive. When I ordered two mimosas, one for me and one for my wife, he used profanity with me.
His exact quote was "we aren't in the business of getting people fucked up"
He then told me I was making him look like a dick when I asked if he was for real.
The most unprofessional bartender I've had in a long time, and that's saying something.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 2, 2024Updated review
For $695 per year, Amex could do better.
If you are flying out of SFO, one of the only ways to beat the inevitable delays is the Centurion Lounge. Unfortunately, it is mostly "capacity controlled," and your $695/year fee buys you ... not much.
If you are lucky enough to be admitted, you will be "welcomed" by a snarky automatron behind the desk who requests in a stack voice, "Boarding Pass. ID. Amex Card. WR Code."
Once admitted, you have access to a "full" bar (limited hours: don't try to get a real drink before 1030) and a self-serve array of mass prepared snacks.
Better than being among the hoi-polloi. Not great. For $695/year, one expects more.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0May 3, 2024Previous reviewDelayed on American at SFO. At least there's a Centurion Club. Even if you have to trek from airside Terminal 1 out to landside, take the Airtrain to Terminal 3 and then go through security again.
"Free" drinks and reasonable food take the sting out of being delayed seven hours. Unlike many other Centurion Clubs, SFO is rarely capacity controlled, so you can enter more-or-less when you wish. However, given the number of people willing to shell out $695/year, the space could be bigger.
Cost cutting means that often the lounge offer does not serve proper Champagne; it's "sparkling wine" or Prosecco instead. Color me not impressed. Food options are limited here compared to other CC Lounges. At least the wi-fi is fast.
Better than being with the hoi polloi. But for the cost, just barely. - 341921213Jul 14, 2024
I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Centurion Lounge at SFO, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The lounge is clean, spacious, and very open, which provided a nice, airy atmosphere. One of the highlights was definitely the views of the terminal, which added a unique element to the lounge experience. The new interior is very well done, with modern touches that enhance the overall ambiance.
The food available in the lounge looked good but lacked variety. While the quality was decent, a bit more selection would have been appreciated. Despite this, the lounge was not packed, which made for a comfortable and relaxing visit.
The staff at the lounge were exceptionally kind and helpful, contributing significantly to the positive experience. However, finding the lounge was a bit of a challenge. The signage for gates F1 and F2 was not very clear, making it somewhat difficult to locate the lounge. But once inside, the overall experience was quite enjoyable.
In summary, the Centurion Lounge at SFO is one of the better lounges I've visited, offering a clean and spacious environment with great views and a well-done interior. The kind staff and pleasant atmosphere make it worth the visit. Just be prepared for a bit of a hunt to find it!Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jul 10, 2024
Had a chance to visit the Centurion lounge on a recent trip and this was an awesome experience! We stopped by around lunch time before our flight and it was a great experience. They have a full bar here and plenty of space which was nice.
We got to try mini crabcakes, truffle flatbread, butternut squash Soup, tomato soup as well as chicken and a variety of veggies which were all delicious. The desserts were also amazing with lots of cookie options as well as a delicious fig tart! So many options to choose from, I was absolutely stuffed by the end of the meal - in a great way. Service was absolutely awesome. We didn't get a chance to try any of the drinks at the bar, but we hope to next time! Overall, would highly recommend to check out if you have the Amex Platinum!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jul 16, 2024Updated review3 check-ins
renovated and better extensive drink menu
including
a prosecco sparkling rose and a brut. good food and still
busy and crowded simple seating but huge improvement since the pandemicHelpful 3Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0Jan 6, 2023Previous reviewIt's experiencing a makeover before that it is absolutely a 4 star for its great decor, beautiful plaque of the Amex logo at entrance and wine selection. The to go lunch is a bit of a downer but still has illy coffee and a reusable slim aluminum bottle - very helpful in the busy airport these days in case of minor or prolonged delays. Worth a stop. It's located in the domestic terminal. Hint: if you arrive early enough it's easy to traverse the terminals. Sometimes it means going through security one more time. But it's good to have a free lunch at Sfo where an apple would cost a limb

Great ambiance!
Staff are great and willing to help and offer help whenever you need it
Check-in is a breeze and the lady at the reception is super friendly and she remembered my name throughout our stay there.
The food is good and I am full that I don't think I can on the plane.
It is a good place to send and log on to do your work or travel planning.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - May 5, 202419 check-ins
My favorite airport lounge! They have free SF postcards they'll mail for you that I always try to send.
Lots of free alcohol and cocktails. Comfy seating and TVs that sometimes play professional tennis. Friendly service and lots of good food. Worth stopping by but not worth the $50 guest fee.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 3Oh no 0 - May 8, 2024
This lounge is actually pretty good and had the chance to see them switch from breakfast to lunch.
Keep in mind this lounge can get pretty busy depending on the time of day and mine experience was no different as I flew out at 1:20pm.
Arrived and checked in without an issue and headed straight for the food. It was a typical breakfast spread with eggs, bacon, meatless options, toast, yogurt, and fresh fruit. They also have a self service coffee machine for lattes, cappuccinos, etc.
Lunch was better with some chicken and steak options. I opted for the corn salad, quinoa, and steak. The steak was a tad tough and a little flavorless, but its nice to not have to pay for a meal in the airport. Plenty of alcohol options, beer, and wine, but didn't have any of that on this trip.
Overall it is a nice club, but I do feel like airport lounges in general are becoming too crowded.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 7, 20242 check-ins
Stellar service. Great breakfast buffet, the caramelized onions scrambled eggs and sausage patties are probably the best breakfast we've had in a while. The staff keeps the facility immaculately clean, the stations are well stocked, they are friendly and very attentive. Even their drip coffee is great, which says a lot about this place. Love it here, wonderful experience.
