Craving Thai? Hit Up The Coconut on T!

If you're on the hunt for the best Thai food in Sacramento, you've gotta try The Coconut on T. Seriously, their Cashew Chicken is my go-to--it comes in different spice levels, so you can crank it up or keep it mellow, depending on your mood. Everything's reasonably priced, and the crew is super friendly, making sure you're all set for a chill meal. Whether you're a Thai cuisine pro or just starting out, this place has the vibes and flavors that'll keep you coming back.

I am not happy at all with this place and its very disappointing to know that their employees are allowed to disrespect and hang up on a long time customer. I ordered a meal through door dash and received a different meal. It was not the door dasher's fault she just delivered the food. I called the restaurant and got a women who's english was very poor and was absolutely rude from the start of the conversation.
I told her that they had made me the wrong order and right away she told me to call door dash as she couldnt do nothing for me.
I ask to escalate the call to a manager because she wasnt understanding my complaint.
      She hung up on me.
As i tried to call back about 8 times, she hung up on with all 8 times.
I have been coming to this place for years and to be treated this way, i have no words.
I will never come back and will make sure to spread the disrespect I received from that female employee.

Service was super friendly but quite inefficient. We had 6 dishes total, 2 appetizers and 4 mains. They brought them out all at once! Uuh, we're supposed to enjoy appetizers first and then make room for the mains after. Did not appreciate this, and the table had no space! Not enjoyable at all, they actually did themselves a disservice. Also, we had to stack the empty, dirty plates on top of each other. Not once did they clear the table. The dirty plates stayed there after we paid and left. Not a good look at all.

Food was subpar, chicken wings were the worst flavor drenched in goo. Only items I liked were the shrimp cashew and papaya salad, thankfully there were a lot of cashews and peanuts.

Not my pick and not eager to return when there's an abundance of better thai places around. Thank you, next ...

great food, cheap happy hour drinks. I had the pad see ew along with an IPA, and that made my night. Service was fast and friendly. Nice cozy ambiance. Will come back here again :-)

My friends and I went here about a month or two ago after a long day of thrifting and antique shopping. The parking situation here, like anywhere in Sacramento, isn't the most convenient but there was certainly more parking available than I was expecting. Located in a neighborhood, this place really does give a welcoming feel. The lighting in this place is kind of dark and almost sultry, but the interior is slightly basic. The staff here are very polite and are willing to answer any questions you have or help you with your indecisiveness. I decided to order the Drunken Noodles and their Plum Wine. This was my first time trying Drunken Noodles and also my first time eating at a different Thai restaurant that wasn't my regular choice (Thai Paradise). My friends were really hyping up Drunken Noodles and to give them a try but I was slightly disappointed. I believe I told the staff I wanted it to be medium spicy, but I think they may have been precautious when I said that in case I wasn't aware of how spicy Thai chilis are. Luckily, they have trays you can take to your table with lots of spices/chilis. I made sure to use a ton of that to really amp up the heat but I still felt disappointed by this dish. I felt like it lacked flavor, and to be honest, I don't think I'm the biggest fan of the flat thick noodles either but that isn't the restaurant's fault. My recommendation to other people would be to not order that unless you have a picky palette. Their Plum Wine was very sweet but very yummy. For dessert, we all decided to try the Mango and Sticky Rice. This was my first time trying this as well, and I enjoyed that it wasn't an overpoweringly sweet dessert. The mango's were delicious, the ice cream and sticky rice were fantastic. It's overall, a wonderful combo. So here's my overall take on this place; I do think it's a lovely Thai spot to at least try one time but I wouldn't be mad if I didn't go again. I think there are some good Thai places in the Sacramento area, the Coconut on T possibly being one of them but if I do go here again, I definitely am trying something else on their menu.

We came here for early dinner while going through the city and we liked our experience. All the dishes were very reasonably priced, and very big portions for the price. They all tasted well as well. We got the pineapple fried rice, green curry, and drunken noodles, all well flavored. Looking at the place, can definitely tell it's a popular spot, and I see why. Overall, would definitely recommend this place.

Awesome, fresh, tasty, FAST service and food!! Inside is nice and clean, friendly waitress. No wonder they have such great reviews! Don't pass on this place. Wish I had taken pics but we devoured it all too fast! And still had some for later!

      Updated review

This place has been on my list ever since I went a couple years ago. Finally made it back and tried some new dishes and it's just as good as I remembered it to be. Generous portions, super flavorful, can't go wrong on anything you order.

This time I ordered the avocado green curry. I was expecting avocado to be integrated into the curry base but the dish just means you get two avocado halves in slices sitting on top of your curry. It did not change the flavor of the curry at all but since I ordered a hot spice level, the bites of avocado helped balance the spice. The star of the show at the end of it all was the mango sticky rice with ice cream. We shared it 3-ways and it was just the best end to our meal, especially since we all got hot spice levels. One of the best mango sticky rice desserts I have had.

Service this time was sort of slow, but this is a pretty casual eatery so nothing I'm surprised by.

Amazing Thai food!! Stopped on the way to Lake Tahoe and we had come at the right time because the place was poppin! Our food was amazing, servers were super busy but did attend to us when they could. We also enjoyed their $2 beer special!
-8/3/24 update: apprently the green curry is NOT vegan, only the yellow curry is!

Their happy hour menu was small but the food was delicious. Portions were generous and staff was attentive. The restaurant was relaxed, elegant, and clean!
