The Container Store

The new location feels so nice and new. It feels like you are not actually on the edge of SOMA as you walk upstairs from Trader Joe's and are greeted by a giant empty parking lot. So if you ever need to pick acting up you can drive straight up to the second floor and load up with ease.

It has that new store shine, plenty of stock, and countless reps inside able to help.

Today hubby & I made a trip to the new location on 9th St & Brannan.

It's a huge footprint on the 2d level. No neighbors. Plenty of parking. Trader Joe is on the ground level.

You would think there'll be tons of inventory. Not the case.

Pros:
* plenty of storage containers for kitchen, bath, & closet . That's why it's called Container Store.
* wide aisles.

Cons:
* travel section is pitiful. If you recall the old 4th St location off Market St. You were bound to find travel accessories and containers. Not here. Very sparse inventory. A few packing cubes.
* office section. Also lacking. Sparse inventory.

My disappointment - not enough small items. In the past you could roam the aisles and find things you didn't know you needed until you saw it.

This location is right off the Civic Center freeway exit.

I'm not sure I would go across town to come shop here now.

The only option when calling is to speak to a space designer, which would be fine, but more often than not, no one picks up the phone, and there is no way to leave a message. There is no option to speak with the store manager or a salesperson! Also, after much back and forth about an incorrect order placed in Corte Madera, I visited the new and lovely San Francisco location and thought all was in order. Sadly, the unit arrived with two out of 5 drawers in the wrong color and one drawer damaged.

All of this is unfortunate because, for the most part, their inventory and value are great.

I used to be a regular at The Container Store, but my recent experiences have been nothing short of TERRIBLE. I've spent a lot of money here over the years, but it seems like a change in management has completely ruined this place. What was once a reliable store has turned into a total DISASTER. The way they treat customers now is absolutely pathetic-and completely unacceptable. I won't be shopping here again.

Always a fan of Container Store. I heard that they are relocating to the Nordstrom Rack space in the shopping center on 9th St. I do like the 4th St store though. Very spacious over two floors. They have everything you need for organizing.

Ah, the tortured fun of home organization.

The short: needed more closet shelf space and did not want to make another decision.

Steven was super in helping me track down and narrow down the choices. Helped me cut down the shelving size.

Anne helped me check out and set up loading of my car.

The service and knowledge of the staff is Just the best !!

Located on a busy street. Find parking in a parking lot structure.

We always come here for things around the house. They have a lot of selection of items here. Literally, anything you can think of when it comes to containers and little useful home things.

After the holidays, they have great sales on gift boxes and gift wrap.

The staff here is super knowledgeable and helpful. The only con is that every time I'm in here, there's always a long line at the check out registers. They need more cashiers!

The Container Store needs to stop selling, "Richard's Moth Repellent herbal sachets." It does just the opposite. Yesterday I looked in my closet in absolute HORROR to see a
"live moths farm "on the sachet and a giant hole on my new cashmere-sweater, behind the sachet, where they are feeding. Small white winged moths crawling all over. It happened to another sweater and there's holes in all my wool clothes as they migrated to other sweaters in my closet. I'm complaining to this manufacturer asap.
I'm writing to warn others, don't use this product!!!! I found other reviewers on Amazon who had the same horrible experience with it !!

The customer service is great! Everyone who works here is very nice.

I ordered a ton of plastic drawers and chose to pick up from this location. I liked that they had a designated area for curbside pick up, which is in the parking structure (and free for pick ups).

Minus one star because if you wanted to drive here to return or buy something, parking in the structure not free.

Other then that, this place is great. Clean and organized and customer service is excellent.

This is a great mini-organization go-to. Great, cheery customer service. And we appreciate the pick-up service especially in the city!
