We stopped by here for a bit to have a couple of drinks. The place had a good crowd and a good DJ that was playing some good music to go along with the music videos. We were seated at a table and had a waitress come take our drink orders. Not sure why, but it took them over 20 minutes for us to get our drinks. By that time, we were already not feeling that excited about the place and were ready to leave. It might be faster just to order your drinks from the bar.

A fantastic dive bar! Waiting till the New Year to arrive, we found the Dime already to party. With a live DJ and blasting those 90's tunes, it was a good way to ring in the New Year.

The wait staff were awesome! Checking on us and making sure we got everything we needed.

The drink menu is a whole page long, with the usual suspects: beers, wine, cocktail and shots. The Dikki-tini ($6.50 for a single, and $10 for a double) was delicious! For those who don't drink alcohol it was perfect !

The food menu had a great variety with everything you could want. For the fantastic price of $4.95 ! That's right! Everything on the menu is evenly priced for $4.95.
With the diversity of items on the menu I will definitely go back to try EVERYTHING.

It was a delicious way to end 2017.
2018, lets explore more yummy finds like The Dime.

      Menu- all food $4.95
The Dime burger, the breakfast sandwich Witg yam fries & calamari. All for $4.95 each!

The Dime Burger! That's what I think of first every time I come here. I always get the Dime Burger because it's so cheap and filling. Usually with any number of beers. They do have other food here of course. But the Dime Burger is what I always order when I am here. It's dark, but not too dark and the warm lights and music provide a nice ambience to this restaurant. Once in awhile it gets really busy but usually I haven't had to wait to get a seat. The service is good and this bar is one of the bars that open later on the drive.

Okay atmosphere, bartender was charismatic, waitress was awful.

Came here on a Wednesday night for drinks. Waitress was unfriendly but did her job, came to check up on us from time to time. It was like she hated her job and she didn't want us there. Made us feel very unwelcomed and awkward.

      Drinks were pretty good though.

I would not come back again because of that waitress unless I really had to and had nowhere to go.

Zero stars if It were possible....Our Saturday evening a few weeks ago started off lovely, some drinks at English Bay and delicious tacos from La Carina tacos...and then we decided to get more food. Our first choice was the warehouse, but there were quite a few people waiting outside so we decided that maybe we would check out the Dime, which was a little further down(across from the Belmont bar) what a mistake, let me tell ya.

Our group got seated and we put in our orders for drinks and food around 10:15. So our drinks came fairly quickly! I had a sangria with red wine, but it was just taste orange which was really strange although it did have a slight taste of liquor to it, it was a pathetic excuse for a sangria. We ended up waiting, and waiting, and waiting until almost an hour had gone by (probably about 45 minutes), and then the waitress appeared with our food. I had the calamari and the potatoe skins, lol and the potatoe skins were literally potatoe skins. I kid you not. Less than an eighth of potatoe flesh for each slice. I can't make this up. I was actually laughing at the meagre portion. The calamari was pretty tasty though, but once again the portion was pretty small. My friends were charged extra for mayo and cheese on their burger. And the burger did not fill them up.

To top everything off, when our bill came the waitress had already included a gratuity in our bill. There were five of us, so I found it pretty annoying especially since most places will automatically include a gratuity when there's six or more guests. I guess the door guy outside heard us talking about how terribly unsatisfactory our food and experience was and gave her a heads up. I don't believe she deserved a fifteen percent tip or even a ten percent tip as her service was awful, and the food was unsatisfactory AND took forever wasting our whole groups evening. To top off the really awful experience she had the nerve to say that the cost of the food there is the same as a meal at McDonald's! However, at least with McDonald's you get a meal that will fill you up, and prompt service without having to tip.

TLDR; save yourself the money and time, and either spend your money at McDonald's or wait in line at The Warehouse. This place is not worth spending your money at.

I've been to a few of these flat rate restaurants before, mostly on the east coast. A lot of these places try too hard to have a 3 page menu, stretch themselves out too thin and nothing they serve really stands out.

The Dime didn't fall for that trap, kept it simple but execution is right on. Most of the menu seemed somewhat skewed tex-mex / southern, with the usual classics (burgers, etc) in the mix. I had the jerk chicken tacos which were amazing, so much so that I had a chicken ceasar salad with an additional portion of the jerk chicken. Everything was fresh and very nicely presented, and of course very tasty.

My party of 3 went somewhat in the off hours just after noon; probably lots to get done to prep the next rush, but our server Nigel gave us incredible service regardless.

Two plates and a beer: 22$ bill... I felt like I ate for much more than that.

Overall, an outstanding choice, I'd highly recommend.

This is a little dive bar on Granville. It's owned by the same people who own The Warehouse and The Factory, so expect cheap food and pricey drinks.

The bartenders were charismatic and it wasn't too packed. The drinks were okay at best and a bit overpriced, so taking two stars off for that. It has the same sort of vibe that the Warehouse/Factory does, if you've ever been to one of the sister restaurants. The music is good and the decoration screams "edgy" but in a sort of.. good way? I can see why people flock to their restaurants.

All in all, it's an okay place. Not sure how the food is but plan to eventually check it out, as the menu looked promising.

I am all for Dive bars as they seemed to have the best personality. Similar theme to the Famous Warehouse on Granville street, therefore, the expectations are the same. I ordered from their $5 menu. You get what you pay for. I ordered the $5 which was a single serving of so so ingredients. I am not going to knock them marks for the quality as others have 'cause I walked in knowing very well what I was going into and had realistic expectations. I just wanted something cheap and filling, a virgin drink and to shoot the shit with a few cool strangers at the bar after work. All of which I got on my visit. Service was average and neutral. They played some old school alternative when I was there which made me smile.
