The Hard Bean Brunch

One of these "trendy people" places.
Sometimes a restaurant just tries too hard. The Hard Bean is a hard sell. On Mother's Day they made mama bear wait for a table for about 20 minutes when multiple tables were empty. Not impressed.
They kept saying we just have to clear the table like they were all waiting for aliens to come down and do it for them.
They had too many staff members on the floor and no management. A lot of bobble-heads just bumping into each other.
Finally after making us wait (in an area with no seats) someone came to take us to the table then said "I just have to wipe it down first." Seriously?How many servers does it take to clear a table?
Restaurants like this need to start hiring older and more capable servers.
The menu was disappointing because there were no healthy appetizing vegetarian options for brunch. None.
The French toast was like a deep fried doughnut.
I had a pesto spaghetti which was an odd choice for brunch but I didn't think I had much options. It didn't really sit well. The sauce was much too thick and it felt very heavy and I didn't finish it.
Once we receive the bill $$$ I was handed a flower for Mother's Day which was really the saving grace for this restaurants review.
I don't think it's a terrible restaurant but the hosts were incompetent and the menu was limited.

Super reliable for a tasty brunch (all-day, everyday). Their patio is pet-friendly, heated in winter and umbrella-d in the summer. Staff are friendly and the selection is super cool. I'm glad to see they're offering special deals for brunchy hour every day from 3pm-6pm and 9pm-close, because that was the one thing I had wished they had! Make sure to reserve ahead of time during peak nice weather and events like Mother's Day, etc.

Their selection consists of a variety of brunch, burgers/sandwiches, desserts and cocktails!

Their bennies were so delicious, especially the ham Benny . Instead of a traditional English muffin, they serve it with yorkshire pudding, which made it extra decadent and delicious! I plan to come back and try more of their offerings!

I love the vibe of this place and all of the food. All menu items are really unique and delicious, the perfect restaurant for a foodie.

I've been here a handful of times and my favourite menu items are the waffle crusted chicken wings, the corn dogs with maple mustard, and the Yorkshire benny. The crème brute French toast was amazing too.

Another thing I recommend are the mimosa flights! They have some really unique mixes and are all worth trying!

Hard Bean Brunch Co. has great brunch options with incredibly friendly staff. When I visited I ordered the HB tacos steak and eggs. Upon ordering, the server suggested I try it with a side of hollandaise. He was right to suggest this as it leveled up the dish.

I also ordered their mimosa flight which includes 4 flavours. You are able to choose which mimosas you want to try out of their 6 options. I chose the Watermelon Sugar High, POGmosa, Margarosa, and Pina Mosa with the Watermelon Sugar High being my favourite.

As odd as this sounds, Hard Bean is the winner of the 2023 Canada's Best Restroom contest hosted by Cintas Canada Ltd. So, be sure to check it out if you visit! ;)

A great location for a quick bite before heading to the breweries in Port Moody. And don't let it's name fool you, they serve so much more than just brunch!

When planning for our breweries hopping in Port Moody, we were looking for a place for lunch. With very limited choices for restaurants in that area, we were happy that Hard Bean Brunch opened a location there.

They have a very decent beer menu so we ordered a beer to start. I then picked the HARD BEAN CO. BOWL for lunch. It comes with roasted califlower, carrots, broccolini, brussels sprouts, quinoa, and basil crusted salmon. The fish was cooked perfectly!

It's service was quick. The server can punch in your order in their tablet as you order. They also have a very nice patio with an excellent view!

Options were endless and the drink menu is fantastic. I tried the mimosa flight and thought the handover flight was super innovative although I didn't try it. I wish they had that sort of thing around 10 years ago when I was constantly hung over lol. Food was great but my only qualms was their sausage option had fruit in it. It was a blueberry sausage and I just wish they offered classic/original/traditional sausage too.

Very friendly staff and nice area. Parking lot and street parking available. Walking distance to Skytrain and bus stops. Quite a few options for food and drinks. Fresh ingredients and more whole food style but quite overpriced. $90 for 2 food, an add on, and 2 drinks... Very experience but not sure if it's worth the price. Don't think I'd come again which is a bummer as all the staff were very great. Dog friendly patio.
