Is this an all ages establishment, when folks are seated at the tables? Aka, can we bring our children when we go to eat and have drinks here?

      A:

It's more of a bar vs kid-friendly spot, so I don't know. It's very small and tables are small.

    • Q:

Do they have non alcoholic options?

Went to Disney Theme Event with Disney dishes and drinks.

      Ambiance
Dark lights, old school bar, fun upbeat music.

      Service
Our waitress Mariella was extremely upbeat and happy. She loves Disney and her job. Very attentive and lots of big smiles. The staff were very friendly.

      Food
      Mickey waffles and fried chicken.
Very good. Spicy saracha maple syrup sounds strange but it works.

      Mama Odie's Monte Christo
Very good but not the deep fried version like what is served at Disneyland.

      Cocktails
      Junglebird
This tastes like straight alcohol. These are $13 if u have two of these u r done. Take an Uber.

      Un Poco Loco
Tequila, watermelon, pineapple, lime and cantaloupe served in Stitch cup per my request, I liked it a lot.

      Great experience!!!

The bad--the ambiance--everything is old and dingy. The front is marked with only a bird above the door and you would never know what is behind the front door. Looks like a dive bar and when I parked on J street in front of the business it smelled of urine--no doubt from the downtown homeless situation. However, I don't blame the business for that. The inside eating area is pitch black except for the illuminated wall shelves and displays. The lighting is tropical colors fitting the namesake and cute but the tables and floor are old and dirty which you cannot see until you turn on your cell phone light. We were seated in the back outside patio which is basically a concrete back alley way with old tall brick walls. The gloss painted picnic table we sat at stuck to my arms. I preferred being outside anyway so I could see my food.

The food-was good portions and ok, not memorable. I had the Loco Moco which was a fried egg and fried hamburger patty on top of rice with gravy. It was ok but not memorable. The tropical drinks were just ok--a lot of sugar slushy. When visiting, say Hawaii, you get that pure coconut and fresh pineapple flavors but this was more 7-eleven slush with some rum.

The good--the service--everyone is friendly, from the bartender to the server--makes for pleasant visit.

Would I visit again, maybe for a simple cocktail at the bar but I would not take a date to eat there.

Good is mediocre at best. They only have ketchup as condiment. No Mayo or mustard.
Table next Tonis had a burger, looks like they didn't like it, as half was sitting there left on the plate.
This business sneakily adds a charge for table of 5, even though only 4 were present. And then asks for another tip on the bill!!! WOW! Service was not deserving of that much of a tip tbh.
Glad we caught this and didn't over tip. Drinks are mediocre. I guess you pay for the decorations. No thank you, we won't be back with so many other places in the neighborhood to explore

We had a magical time at the Jungle Bird! Please note, we came for the Disney event so the menu will be different but I just had to post a review. First off, this place is SO beautifully themed. The jungle vibes and dark mysterious atmosphere beautifully sets the mood for an escapism adventure! Everyone was so incredible too! Friendly, warm, helpful and efficient. Seems like a great crew honestly. The drinks were so yummy and well made. Not just juice and sweet and sour mix like some places, they really know what their bartenders definitely know what they're doing! Lastly, all of the food was delicious and well made. Definitely have to order the Pupu platter next time, it looked and smelled amazing! We come to Sac a few times a year and absolutely will be back!

Came again for the Disney pop up event. While the food wasn't bad last year, it was much improved this time around! Our waiter, Evan, was quick and very attentive during the busy event. The classic Disneyland music helped make the experience wonderful, and having two bartenders from Trader Sam's present was a huge bonus!

This place is obviously super cool to come too, the drinks that were tasty on this visit was the painkillers and chi chi drink not photographed. I could not taste the ube in the lovely continga so I was not impressed with it. They do have vegetarian options but they did not have the Mac and spring rolls on a Saturday, so the vegetarian food we ended up ordering was not spectacular. They could add a jackfruit bbq slider on the menu given the demographic that visits. In the past I did order the choices with meat and they were tastier. And yes of course I am going to come back here as it is one of my fav bars in town.

I love how this place takes you to a whole different world with their atmosphere. As soon as I walked in I felt almost transported to the tropical hideaway in Disneyland.
The pupu platter was Great to share with me and my friend. Comes with a mini grill in the middle for show but also to crisp up whatever you want on it. Comes with crab Rangoon, shrimp tempura, fried gyoza, egg rolls, and wings. Fun for the table.

While my friend wasn't particularity a fan of the rice I loved it and reheated it once I got home also! The spam makes it perfectly salty and the kimchi in it gives it the bite it needs. Also if you don't like kimchi don't shy away from this the pieces can be easily avoided.

While the dole whip float is a drink all in itself I also order the buka town chi chi drink for something not too boozy and sweet. A perfect match. I hear there's a card you can get to check off all the drinks you've tried sounds fun. I'll be coming back for dole whip soon.

The jungle bird has really interesting ambiance. Its very dark and moody inside with a fun tropical island theme. They also have a nicely decorated outdoor patio. Their drinks are strong and fruity. Their service was quick and friendly as well.
