The Keg Steakhouse + Bar

First time coming to The Keg. I saw the good reviews and decided to give it a try. We came on a Sunday night (Mother's Day). I called ahead a made a reservation (do recommend this). We were seated quickly with our reservation. The ambience was good for a steakhouse. We sat on a high top in what they called The Lounge. It was a nice high top since it included a booth.
Our server was great. He was friendly and helpful. He informed us about a lot and had a very good personality. He was very attentive and made sure we had high quality first class service.
Our food was very good. The three cheese butter for the bread was unique and delicious. The prime rib was a little fatty. The twice baked potato was outstanding and the green beans were splendid.
I highly recommend coming to The Keg. The Keg is famous in Canada. They raise their own cows and process the beef in Alberta. They are Canada's top steakhouse.

Always an easy choice.

Our server, Cahris was one of the best servers I have come across in my life! She was the sweetest and assisted in my specific dietary needs. The prices here are reasonable and the menu options have such a variety for all! Highly recommend the snow crab and sirloin! The crab did not even need butter! Loved the birthday surprise and nonstop service from the front hostess to the rest of the staff! Way to go!

I always go to The Keg if I want prime rib. I still think they make the best prime rib in town.

My friend suggested meeting at this location as he likes the bamboo at the patio area. It is pretty serene as the patio does not face the traffic and with the greenery around, you can imagine you are in Asia.

In the end we dined indoors which has dimmer lighting. The bar is also there.

The service was great here. They checked on you, the food and refilled water glasses without being asked.

I decided to try the lobster crab Oscar from the summer lobster menu instead of the prime rib. The sirloin steak was a perfect medium rare. The crab and lobster were fresh and sweet. I loved the grilled veggies and twice baked potato.

We also shared the Parmesan onion rings which were ok. The complimentary warm sourdough bread was delicious and great for mopping up the sauce in my dish.

My friends had the prime rib which was the usual gold star. They also liked the bacon burger with fries. You couldn't go wrong with that either.

I came here because I was craving steak and definitely made a good decision! Went to The Keg on Alberni street, it was my first time in this location. Their outdoor patio is so beautiful, you are surrounded by bamboo trees and a little fire pit. 5/5 for ambience!

For appetizers I got their portobello mushroom with stuffed cream cheese and imitation crab... OMG!! I don't usually eat seafood but there was no hint of "fishy-ness" in this and it literally melted in my mouth. Would highly recommend!

Got their 20oz Rib Steak which was shared amongst 3 people. Their portion size is really good so we were not able to finish it. However, the steak was really good but what made it perfect was their sauces - bearnaise and whisky peppercorn. Both so flavourful and complimented the side of mash potato + asparagus!

I would say their mac and cheese was average, nothing too spectacular but their drinks menu was good! Highly recommend their gin basil lemonade and blackberry daiquiri!

Great service and generous portions. Steak was good. (Filets are wrapped w bacon) - tried w blue cheese. A bit on the flat side.
Rib steak was good. Flavor on the 1-10 scale - 7-8.
Nice ambiance. Great service. Warm, friendly and accommodating.

Great location in the heart of downtown and beautiful atmosphere.

Wait staff was very knowledgeable and friendly.

Food was tasty, appetizers are small portions but entrees were generous.

Where do I start?
Our waitress seemed clueless as to when to check on us. I almost just asked another person to help because I wanted to get a glass of wine. She went to 2 other tables near us and NEVER even looked our way. Steak was asked to be cooked medium well and was presented rare. The main guy (cook) agreed and just took the plate. We were expecting it to be cooked more, and the steak never came back to us. Clueless part 2!

We really like this Keg. It's the second time we have visited this particular location. The food is always excellent and the service stellar. We had a lovely meal with great cocktails in a warm welcoming environment. Not too loud not too dark just right. Our thanks as well to Brenden our server for great service which added to our dining experience. Don't miss out on the Billy Miner pie a definite favorite dessert.
