The Marc

The Marc served as our home away from home for nearly a year. We loved our experience. The staff were attentive and caring. They worked to build and maintain community among residents, and the facilities are beautifully maintained. The location, just blocks away from downtown Palo Alto and a lovely 1.5 mile walk to Stanford's campus, was a terrific benefit of our choice. Thank you, Linda- for all that you do to make The Marc a wonderful residence.

All issues were addressed with in 2 days. Linda/her staff was wonderful! Thank you so much for taking care of the issues and responding quickly.

LOVE. Living. At. The Marc.

We have been living at the Marc for almost three years (and just renewed for a fourth!) and couldn't be happier here.

Coming from a world of New York luxury high rises, our bar was set very high. We totally fell in love with the Marc.

First off, the building's location can't be beat - just two blocks away from University Ave: you get all the action while having calm surroundings.

Second, the apartments are great - spacious, well maintained and the balconies are incredible. We are on the west side and literally get amazing sunsets every night. It doesn't really matter that the building is several decades old - the apartments have been updated and Ruffino and the maintenance crew will take care of any issues.

Third, amenities are terrific - pool, barbecues, gym (just renovated a few weeks ago!).

Finally: the community. Hats off to Linda - master property manager - who has created an incredible community of people who want to hang out with each other! There are regular mixers at the Marc that are very well attended and our neighbors are genuinely nice and friendly people. All the above points make for a great place, but this brings it over the line as a one-in-a-million place.

If you come meet Linda or Larissa to inquire about a unit and life at the Marc and if that wasn't enough to convince you, just say hi and ask around to any of the neighbors you meet up in the hallway. Everyone will be delighted to tell you how awesome it is to live here!

We absolutely love living here and couldn't have asked for more. To name a few - the sparkling swimming pool, the garden terrace, the new gym, the unbeatable location and proximity to downtown, the incredibly responsive management and maintenance crew, the kind neighbors and communnity and the views. We are so happy to call this place "home".

Last week I moved back to the Palo Alto Marc after 7 years. my reason for returning to the Marc was Linda Nguyen, the best director/manager anyone could ask for. The location is what I love and having Linda to help out with anything is like having family here.
Several residents I've spoken to feel the same. I can walk anywhere in downtown Palo Alto from here, so getting great exercise! Building is older but it is very well maintained by Mr. Rufino and team. Tenants are friendly and a mix of young professionals, college students,families and seniors. I love the diversity , the outdoor pool area, new gym etc. Glad to be back as long as Linda is the manager. She's simply the best!

A rat at The Marc destroyed many of my personal belongings. I lived on the 10th floor at The Marc and a rat chewed, urinated and deficated on my shoes, bedding, home decor, pillows, suitcases, bags and clothing. A pest control person was sent by the building and he assessed the damaged stating it was a rat and he set traps to catch the rat. The Marc management does not want to cover the cost of items destroyed. I tried to submit a claim to my renters insurance but they do not cover rodents as they stated it is preventable based upon building upkeep or it is negligence by the landlord. I am upset my things are destroyed, I can't get reimbursed by The Marc management as well perplexed how a rat could get on the 10th floor.

Larissa was not friendly when we came in for a tour. She did not listen at all when we asked question, because all her answers were irrelevant and she always cut us off halfway through our questions. My husband even caught her rolling her eyes when we asked about the rent! She was very rude and unprofessional to say the least.
We also saw that there was only 1 laundry machine per floor, plus the other reviews mentioned security issues and lost packages. I don't think we'll be revisiting.

We recently moved into the Marc with the help of Tricia, who initially showed us the apartment and made moving in a very smooth process. We were one of Tricia's first tenants and she managed to make our transition straightforward. Tricia and Linda, the apartment managers, are both very reliable, responsive, and very prompt in their actions. Any issues we have, I feel extremely comfortable going to them, knowing things will be handled swiftly.

The apartment itself is located in an optimally central location, with a sense of suburbia yet still being in close proximity to downtown. The apartment has excellent amenities all of which are wonderfully maintained.

The Marc has been wonderful for us! It has an outstanding location, fantastic service and has been a great place for my son to grow professionally as he started his new job. It is a secure building with constant vigilance by the office team.

Linda and her team are incredible. They have been instrumental in making sure that our son has been comfortable, and enjoyed his time at his residence. All problems have been promptly taken care of, and the emails from Linda have kept us constantly informed of progress. Thank you!

I would recommend this place for anyone looking to stay in Palo Alto.

The Marc is amazing, especially because of the office staff, who goes above and beyond to make sure all tenants have a consistently delightful experience. My wife and I were overwhelmed with gratitude and so pleasantly surprised when we started working with Melissa and Linda to choose an apartment and move in. Simply put, Melissa and Linda were FANTASTIC, and went out of their way numerous times to make sure we had everything set up for a successful move in (after, of course, helping us choose the perfect apartment!). The move-in experience alone made us feel like we were VIPs, and really demonstrates the level of service that tenants receive here at the Marc. This apartment is HIGHLY recommended (and be sure to say hi to Melissa and Linda)!!
