The Mix at SoHay

Love my apartment at The Mix! I commute to SF through BART and this complex is so conveniently located that I can do a leisurely walk and be there in 15 min. Close access to major freeways and literally 30 min from all three airports (driving and without traffic Ofcourse!). The building and grounds are really nice and clean. Most importantly they are Dog Friendly! Which is surprisingly difficult to find in the Bay! Dog bag stations and right next to a really nice Park with jungle gyms and so many cute flowers. Management and Maintenance are responsive and friendly. The units have AC and Heating, washer and Dryer in-unit, and the Kitchen is worthy of Holiday Meals :) fob access garage and lobby really let me rest easy at night. Is this place cheap? No, but its clean, nice and compared to other places in the East Bay I feel a whole lot safer. Keep it up The Mix Peeps!

From the tour to the move-in process, everything was very simple and straightforward. Moving is stressful enough so I am glad the wonderful team working there made the experience a breeze. I love how close Sapporo sushi is for an easy dinner. Management is responsive to my needs, and when my toilet broke, they fixed it the same day! My partner and I (and our dog Rex) are happy here!

If rent were cut in half itd be great but its too expensive for area where nothing great is walking distance. Construction noise from first floors with no warning from management and lots of noise from new houses around the area. Mission blvd is a busy rd so be aware of loud traffic. Maintenance and cleaning staff is great. Management is nice in person but lack of communication regarding crime like break ins of cars, a stolen car, and mail theft. Be aware you must talk to neighbors to get the real story of anything negative.

Initially, I loved the idea of coming to live here. Brand new apartment, washer and dryer inside unit, AC, spacious closets, large bathrooms, friendly neighbors, a park close by, and the view from my living room has been beautiful. Shortly after we moved in, I would say about a month in an extremely loud alarm was set off by a person who broke into the garage and slammed into the gate to get out of the garage since you need a clicker to get out. From that, a sprinkler was hit and that is what caused the alarm to go off. After this, my son was terrified and traumatized by any sounds. They never informed us of what happened or sent out any type of communication until I sent them an email about it. With stuff like this, the community should be updated and informed especially so that we can be aware! On another occasion, my door dasher left food and my door dash was stolen, I know there are cameras and I never heard back if they were able to check about what happened. There has been an increase in homeless people hanging out, sleeping, and passing through yelling at all hours of the night. There has also been vandalism, today my boyfriend's car was almost stolen and broken into from what is supposed to be a secure garage. After all this, there should be some type of security. I have not seen security. On some occasions, management takes a while to get back to you, and sometimes they don't until you follow up again. The parking is starting to become an issue outside as it is always full and there is hardly ever any parking. The appliances are starting to break down and there have been many problems with the ACs in units. The first month of my move one of the ACs leaked in my son's room and wet part of the carpet along with some of his pillows and blankets. Turns out the plastic part holding the water was installed cracked. There seem to be more issues and no amenities other than a pool table that was also vandalized in the beginning. The first couple of months they broke the pool table sticks and recently they broke the glass Stockwell snack machine (there is no longer a snack machine). A few months ago, a young gentleman was knocking on doors asking for donations for college passing 9:30 pm, again I do not understand how people are getting into the building and garage if there is an access code and fob key. Another downside is there are no retail stores, and a Starbucks was supposed to be put in the first year. The windows are not accessible to clean and are extremely dirty, still waiting for them to get back to me as this was supposed to be done in Spring. Sorry for the long review but it was long overdue, and it just doesn't feel safe here anymore.
