The Natural Hair Salon

Traveling through Victoria to Alaska I needed a haircut. I saw the salon from Tapa Bar while eating. It looked very nice and clean so I made an appointment. Always a little nerve wracking getting a cut from a new person but it was need. I was greeted by friendly staff and the stylist, Shalyn was professional, friendly and asked me what I needed. As she cut my hair, she checked in to make sure we were on the right track. She made adjustments, as needed, to ensure I was happy with the outcome.
If I lived in the area, I would have no qualms making this salon my regular go-to place. But I am heading onto the road knowing I am pleased with my cut and met some really great folks!

Took a chance on a holiday because I saw the salon had good reviews on Facebook. I just needed my blond highlights toned down. I left with purple auburn hair. uneven and patchy. I return after clarifying my hair twice at home. They told me it happens and gave me shampoo. I have to now pay my salon to fix it. I would not recommend !!

I got the express balayage treatment a few weeks ago, and during the treatment my scalp started intensely burning to the point where I was sobbing in the chair and considered leaving the salon mid-process. The stylists I was with were surprised this happened and super nice about it, but I was slightly disappointed when I was still charged full price for a treatment that the workers described as me being "tortured". My scalp continued to burn for more than 48 hours after the treatment, and is currently flaking due to the healed burns. When I reached out to the salon general manager to explain my experience and recommend my experience be told to future customers as a warning of what could happen, she was dismissive and did nothing to remedy the situation. I do not recommend this salon/treatment.
