The best ever! I I absolutely adore this place, the dishwasher guy & "manager owner" was the best Jason was his name! The greatest! The time from the front door till the end of the walk out phenomenal. Our bartender was the best in a long time! He went over and beyond! Dereck we loved him...he was so accommodating, he made sure we were comfortable. The piano above us was playing this is a speakeasy Prohibition bar. Definitely we will be coming back here. I would totally recommend this restaurant. Everybody is sweet and friendly, and the customer service blows you out of the water. Literally a happy day to a ending of a night out with the girls. This place is good for a romantic date, a girls night out or if you just want to enjoy the atmosphere. Do not miss this place! You will fall in love. There's so many drinks and wine to choose from. Oh and the food, came out hot and fresh burst of flavors in the mouth. Please check out Jason and Dereck! Also the waitress I don't remember her name but she was very kind and attentive.
Remember while in Benicia or looking for amazing foodie restaurants this place will not let you down.....
Thanks Jason, you've done and epic job of bringing a natural feel good vibe of a restaurant....

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of dining at this establishment for the first time. While we hadn't made reservations in advance, I would highly recommend doing so for future visits. Fortunately, Tica (if I recall her name correctly) graciously accommodated us and seated us in The Office/Speakeasy room.
For starters, we enjoyed a delicious Caesar salad, followed by the Scallop mashed potatoes and fettuccini bolognese for our main courses. Each dish was impeccably presented, though we felt that the mashed potatoes and scallops could benefit from a bit more flavor. Nonetheless, our overall experience was fantastic.
Brandon, our server, provided exceptional service throughout our meal. We also had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners, who stopped by our table to greet us. Their warmth and hospitality made us feel truly welcomed.
One notable feature of this establishment is the option to rent out the entire "speakeasy" room, which can accommodate up to 12 guests. This would be an ideal setting for a small dinner party, complete with a dedicated bartender for the room. The ambiance of the venue is charming and transports you to another world.
We extend our gratitude to Tica, Brandon, and the rest of the team for providing us with such a memorable first experience. We look forward to returning in the future.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Megan R.Pleasant Hill, CA18125Jul 29, 2023
This speakeasy has some low key spooky vibes, including a piano upstairs being played by "ghosts." Located inside Baxter's, The Office has excellent drinks. My French 75 was delicious. Very small and intimate with only a few tables. I loved it!
This place is under new management in the last month - sounds like they have lots of fun plans for both The Office and Baxter's. The new owner is working the floor but also took time to sit down and tell us his story. He's amazing - super friendly and the type of local owner you'd want to support. Definitely worth checking out and following their evolution!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nicolle W.Vallejo, CA593292123Apr 17, 2024
All I can say is YES, YES, YES!!!! From the beginning I was a lil iffy because there was a huge private party but I stuck it out and soooooi grateful I did! Tinka the waitress (hope I spelled it right) was super sweet, knowledgeable, kind and took the time to personally get to know me as I went solo...Great company with the locals..AND how rare is it to be greeted and checked on throughout my night from both of the owners separately...the care are love was genuine and organically apparent. The Brie appetizer was fire! And the Beef Wellington was supreme! KUDOS TO THE CHEF !!!! I will be back, will refer and will be a regular!

My husband found this place while we were on our anniversary getaway. After dinner, we wanted to stop by a bar and we love speakeasy bars! It was so funny because we saw The Office storefront and thought it was a different place, so we went through the hallway from the back where the "secret" entrance was.
You can choose to sit at the speakeasy-designed area where there are no windows, or there is another area where you can people-watch. It was surprisingly not as busy, but also it was only 8PM. Our bartender was so friendly and told us we should try the food, but we were too stuffed from our dinner.
We decided just to have a quick drink and head out. I ordered a Strawberry Smash and the hubby got a Tropical Sunset. My drink was really delicious and huge. We only stayed for a drink because we were tired, but I would love to return when I'm back in the area.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Justine M.Vallejo, CA37176Feb 5, 2024
Very cool place! Go inside the restaurant, turn right. It's hidden behind the black curtains

lovely vibe here. my bestfriend & i had a good time here. the speakeasy vibe was cool, i was so disappointed that the piano was for show, unfortunately.
although there is a sister company bar that's in vacaville called "dueling pianos at makes restaurant" and they actually have the life shows of dueling pianos!
p.s.
speakeasy is inside the Loft.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 16, 2022
Who doesn't love a speakeasy? I didn't realize there was one in Benicia until I spent the day there with a friend and stumbled upon it. The bar/restaurant area outside of the speakeasy is cute too - the service was incredible and they had a lot of wine options. When we went back to the speakeasy area, we were the only ones there, which was nice. It's a cozy, intimate area with piano music filling the room. Because there are no windows, the wine and good conversation will have you lose track of time.

Don't know about the food, or music, because we were turned away at the door. Never mind we made reservations more than a week in advance. This was the only time and reason we visited BENICIA , on my wife's birthday. Without going into too much detail, the establishment (people) acted like they didn't want, US there. Never mind we are successful, educated (doctors, computer architect, fundraiser and corporate trainer. It's always nice to reminded of they think of you. Me being from Mississippi, I'm not a stranger to this treatment just a little shocked. In my (Grandmas voice)If it walks like a duck and quack like a duck it must be a duck.

RUINED MY BIRTHDAY!
Never again! My best friend called ahead a week prior for my birthday to make a reservation for a party of 8. We traveled from several cities dressed to the nines for a great night out. A good time was not had by all!! As soon as we walked in we were told that they double booked, closed in two hours, and that they wouldn't be able to seat us for at least an hour. Offered to create a makeshift table for us minus all the ambiance but zero effort to make it right with comped round or discount. Just lots of useless "I'm sorries" and then confusion and defensiveness when we explained how that didn't make the situation right. Don't count on this place for special occasions. They will leave you hanging. And if your brown, they will greet you at the door and tell you they don't have reservations before you open you mouth. While I'm bummed that they ruined my birthday I'm so glad that I didn't spend my money at this place. They aren't worthy. They are not clear on the concept of customer service. SHAME ON THEM!!!Helpful 4Thanks 2Love this 1Oh no 2
