The property manager is incompetent, ignores requests regularly and rarely in the office. The owners pay her salary (overpaid for sure!) but she acts like she's the owner showing up and leaving whenever she wants. No hot water but she will tells us days later. Always last minute emails because again, she's barely working. Looking forward to selling my place and moving out of this dump next year.

The location is great, but not the building and HOA management, there are many other apartment buildings nearby to try instead

Packages get stolen constantly, expect to receive only 1/2 of your deliveries

The association has a video camera and said they have caught people jumping the gates and stealing packages on film but can do nothing about it, and even deep in the building it looks like people that live here steal packages too

The fire alarm in the building also went off in the middle of the night about once a week for a couple of month straight and they did nothing about it

Within a month I lost two packages, the first time I emailed the office and received no response, and I couldn't find another package that has arrived these two days. There are thieves on the inside, cuz the deliver guy usually brought the packages into the north building which I thought it'll be safer. I don't believe that anyone from the outside would climb two walls just to grab some unknown packages. Whoever wants to consider this property needs to be aware and think twice.

I've lived in the Potrero for 7 years and absolutely LOVE IT! Living above the Whole Foods is fantastic. I have a chocolate lab and the building is very dog friendly - many of my neighbors have dogs too. The management company is great that runs the HOA. They have two full time on site employees: a building engineer and a building manager that answers the phones and runs the HOA.

I've lived here in San Francisco since 1990, have lived in seven different places over the 24 years, and the Potrero is by far the best home.

      *sigh*

I am a few weeks from closing escrow on my new home and I knew that buying a home would be stressful and I also knew that buying a pre-construction home would be additionally stressful.

That said, I have very mixed feelings toward you people. I don't know how you could have overseen details like a crappy rep in the design center or your half-assed filing system that seems to lose every other document we submit or the hit or miss "nice people" you hire.

I'm not really sure why I'm even giving you 3 stars except for a benefit of a doubt that you'll do better.

I've lived here for almost 2 years and it's the best residence I've had in all of SF.

I've found the staff and management to be very responsive. Living above the Whole Foods can run the risk of hitting you in the wallet, but the convenience outweighs any drawbacks. :)

The actual living space and amenities are well taken care of and the janitorial staff works hard to keep it nice. It's also a green building. So, yay for that!

I've lived here for over 4 years and love the neighborhood and the weather. 18th street has some great restaurants including Plow the #1 brunch place in SF. The HOA has 2 events a year for all residents inducing an annual sangria contest. Management is professional and informative with monthly newsletters. The neighbors are nice and welcoming and most are longtime residents. The building comes with Whole Foods on the first floor, rooftop deck with 360 views of the city, gym, two private courtyards and a secure parking garage (and storage) with room for bikes. Most units have their own washer and dryer and vary from studios to two story town homes.

Clean, well designed and maintained, gated parking plus easy street parking after hours. Whole Food and nice restaurants nearby, close to high way. Hip and quiet neighbors... really enjoy living here!

We have lived here since August. I love everything about The Potrero. I love our studio, the building we are in (North), the gorgeous landscaping of the mews, the sky deck where you can see the whole city, the gym, the fantastic neighborhood and easy public transportation, management (Candace is so helpful), the people who maintain it so well, the other residents, the dogs (who I never here barking but am delighted to greet in the public space), the Whole Foods below which is very convenient and where you can enjoy a microbrew while working on your laptop, its proximity to the Mission (18 minute walk to Valencia and 16th), The Front super cool roaster and caffe , the mix of warehouses and stellar Victorians, the communal garden on Vermont, the Julia Morgan neighborhood center, 18th Street with its restaurants and Christopher's Bookstore and Ruby Wine. Potrero Hill is generally a very sunny neighborhood.. The Potrero is an extremely well maintained condo with a good mix of residents that offers a great location, great amenities, in an historic neighborhood adjacent to Dogpatch (love Piccino Caffe and La Stazione Caffe).
