Dave did a superb job replacing/re-tiling our 1937 shower pan, and was just a great and professional person to work with! He is one of those unique people who truly understands old houses, which is very unique to find these days. Also, it is nice that Dave can do the plumbing, demolition, waterproofing, and new tiling work himself, and he doesn't have to hire a bunch of separate sub-contractors to do that work! He is very skilled in what he does, and flexible with your schedule.

Dave was on-time, his workmanship was excellent, and he was very clean about how he went about the work. Our old shower pan didn't drain properly and had numerous cracks which had caused water leaks to the floor structure below including dry rot. Dave was able to remove the dry rotted wood and provide new wood where necessary to complete the shower pan. Dave was able to salvage our old original tile and then provide a complete new tiled shower pan which matched the original shower tile perfectly. Just finding the correct color tiles I would think would be difficult but Dave handled it and the finished product is really seamless from existing tile to new. He also provided a new drain and did the associated plumbing work.

If you end up looking at this yelp page for shower work, more than likely you will need this service. I assure you Shower Pan King is the right choice for you! His work is high quality with a very reasonable price.

Our shower base in the master room started leaking downstairs. An inspection with the plumbers showed that the shower base was not installed correctly in the first place. There was no water proofing done. It was the caulk that kept the shower base from leaking all these years and it has worn down. I called a few places and they all recommended replacing the whole shower (shower base + tiles + waterproofing + the glass doors) with a high cost.

Then, I found Dave the Shower Pan King! He is such a nice person. On the first call, we talked for a couple of hours about the situation. I was quite happy to learn that he would be able to replace just the base and install the water proofing without changing the glass doors and most of the tiles. It's only the last row of the wall tiles we will need to replace. He went over to the house for assessment. He took pictures of the tiles and found really good matches. During the whole process, he has always been very patient and willing to explain to me every step along the way. His estimated cost was way below others.

The quality of his work is on another level! I was quite impressed by his excellent attention to detail. Here is one example: although the new tiles are very close to the old ones, there still is a slight difference if you look closer. To make it less obvious, Dave left out the two tiles next to the glass door frames when cutting them off (check the pictures). This made the tiles look more consistent after the shower pan was installed.

It took him about 2 weeks to do the whole job. He would send me photos everyday to report the progress and discuss anything that needs my decision. When he came to the site, he would bring all kinds of covers for the furniture and carpets. After the work is done, he would clean up thoroughly and you wouldn't even notice some heavy renovation has been done. The project came out better than I expected and the final charge is just the same as the estimation (no hidden fees).

If you are looking for someone to do a shower pan job, look no further. Dave will be the right person to hire!

I worked with Dave prior when I did my daughters shower. His work is of the highest quality. He doesn't just install the tile he thinks through the entire installation so that there is the minimal of small cuts. He also discusses the installation with you and listens to your needs and also any ideas you may have . Thanks Dave we are totally enjoying our new shower.

If you have any shower pan issues, don't hesitate and just call David. He is a master of his craft and will get your job done properly and at a fair price -- a rare combination these days. David promptly returned my initial call, did a site visit, provided a bid, and completed the work right on budget. David patiently explains the work he is doing and is careful to take feedback around design decisions. I cannot recommend him more highly.

The shower pan in our master bathroom leaked and destroyed our guest room's ceiling situated right below. We really didn't want the same thing to happen and wanted the shower pan to be fixed by an expert.

We've got quotes from several places. General contractors said they only do the whole bathroom remodeling and some of the other contractors didn't seem to have expertise in shower pan repair.

We were fortunate to find David's service in Yelp. He suggested replacing the only first row and bottom tile. He carefully demolished the old tiles and checked if there was a dry rot or other permanent damages on the wood of the floor. He then applied new water proofing and red guard, installing the new tiles and drain. Our shower pan looks exactly like the previous one, but doesn't leak any more.

David had some waiting list and we waited about 1-2 months to get our turn. But we think it was totally worthwhile, as now we have a peace of mind and got this repair done in a reasonable budget.

Stop your search! You have come to the right place if you have a leaky shower pan! Mr. Giusto is your man! Punctual, clean, courteous, and he demonstrates fabulous workmanship. He saw that my mom had mobility issues and went the extra mile in making it easier for her to navigate the shower. David knows his stuff and he will clearly detail what he will do for you. I had made a long list of people to call. Once I spoke with him, the decision was made to hire David. Look no further!

Saw evidence of drips in crawl space. Consulted with usual plumbers, not their kind of work. Found David Giusto Tile on Yelp, sent him pix i took underneath, had good email, he came out and looked in the shower and under the house. We wanted to go full permit, which was a bit of an adventure. Permit took over a month to get through Oakland planning department, not for completely obvious reasons, but we got it.

Dave bid two different cases depending on what was under the shower floor tiles, and behind the wall tiles. He pulled out the shower floor and the pan under it, then went into the four walls, Turns out the problems were dramatic and long standing. Damp, dry-rotted and punky sub-floor, parts of floor joists, wall studs and bottom plate. He carefully removed the tiles (that had a 6 month lead time), removed all the bad wood, called the inspector. No mysteries. Everything clearly visible. They discussed how to fix it all, inspector liked what he heard.

New 2 x 3, 2 x 4 lumber and sisters for the joists were screwed into place and the inspector came back. He liked the work. Now the new subfloor was fastened down, and the new shower pan was installed over a tapered base that ensured all the water would get to the drain. The mortar supporting the floor and running up the walls went on. Then the whole new pan was filled with water and the high line marked. After a weekend, it had held all the water and it drained when the temporary block was removed. Tile time.

Old shower floor had been a mix of related color tiles, an abstract mosaic. New floor is hexagonal tiles that come very close in color to the wall tiles. Saved wall tiles went on the entrance, and the back wall and sides. New tiles, matching the hex floor exactly, went into the bottom row, and on the inside of the front wall. Saved brown trim went in at the entrance.

Now the big glass marble came out: Dave released it in each of the 4 corners, and the marble rolled briskly to center. It stopped on the grate or touching the grate. There you go. It looks like it will out-live me.

Dave made smart-phone pictures and movies of each step, documenting each layer as it was revealed, then documented the repairs, the new drain, the new pan, new mortar, tiles and finally grout. He sent them to us as he worked, and posts these on his web site where prospective clients can see what he does. It's worth your time.

If you have a leaky shower pan that needs to be replaced by a competent tradesman, look no further than the Shower King (Dave G.). Dave does fantastic work at a reasonable price. He is easy to communicate with, always keeps his work area clean after each day's work, is so quiet, you usually won't know he's there. Besides replacing the shower pan and repairing the tile floor to match the existing aesthetic, Dave is also able to perform minor plumbing repairs if that is what is required to complete the job without delay. Give Dave a call if you want to be confident that your shower repair will be done right. Thank you, Dave, for the great work !

Dave helped us remove the old plastic shower pan and install the tiles. He explained everything to us and always kept everything tidy at the end of each day. He did a great job, and we are happy with the result.

Don't bother getting a quote from anyone else, just hire David. He is unbelievably easy to work with, he'll explain everything that needs to be done and he'll do it right the first time. So, as he says, "I'm a neat freak," so at the end of the day your bathroom is neat and tidy. Basically if the guys who put your shower in the first time, screwed it up, David "The King," will fix it. And it'll be done right! Long live the King!
