The Slipper Room is New York City's true home of Variety. Since 1999 we have been presenting the best in Comedy, Burlesque, Vaudeville, Variety, and live music. Every night is a different show, full of suprises. We are currently building a whole new theatre on the corner of Orchard and Stanton. In the mean time you can check out a Slipper Room show, hosted by founder and Artistic Director James Habacker in a variety of guises, every Thursday night at Casa Mezcal, just down the block at Orchard and Broome street. Doors at 9, shows all night long. The New York Times called our show "as insightful as it is funny" and the Wall Street Journal said that James has "perfect comedic timing". Each week you'll see the best in downtown burlesque and variety, at this intimate club, and in the fall we'll be back on Orchard and Stanton with an amazing new theatre

Good service, great show. It's a dark steamy club reminiscent of years gone by. Only thing disappointing were a couple of bachelorette parties within that took up all the first third of the club. Thereby leaving smaller parties to get the leftovers and/or share tables with unknown people.

We came here for my girlfriend's birthday and it was such a fun and unique experience! The host of the show's comedic relief will have you giggling in between the sensual and jaw-dropping acts. The floor and bar area is a bit crowded, but so is every bar in New York City. It is standing-room only for those that didn't reserve a seat, but the show is condensed so your feet aren't too terribly numb by the end... just head to the bar and order a tequila shot if they are! ‍

Three words Don't Go Here. This place isn't it. Instead See the Sweet Spot Nation at the Bell House in Gowanus. Pure circus show was being put on a whole 30 mins and then again in btw three performances of the actual burlesque show. Which the actual Burlesque Show finally started an hour later when the host and the circus acts got on! Save your $32 dollar. None of the male trick show performers were young, no dancing skill. They tried to be magicians.

Came here for the Rock & Roll Aerial Fantasy show as some of my aerial instructors were performing. Tix can be reserved online ahead of time. The check-in process was relatively straightforward, and staff was pretty friendly. The venue isn't very large but tables on the main floor were comfortably spaced out, plus there's a second-floor balcony.

Please come and enjoy some amazing performances and support the aerialists!

I loved this place and all of the acts that I saw; very entertaining. There's a lot of talented people that perform here. Very cute venue, definitely recommend reserving an actual seat and having a drink.

You need to be very open minded, nonjudgemental and okay with nudity when coming to watch their shows. I honestly can't wait to go back....very walkable area.

The Slipper room was so fun! This was our first visit to a burlesque establishment and I can't wait to see another!! (My only idea up until this time was the movie with Cher lol nothing like that) Must do in NYC!

This was our second visit to slipper room, and we were genuinely looking forward to a fun evening out.
However, I must express our deep concerns about a particular moment during the show. The interaction between the host and an audience member, where chants of "free Palestine" erupted, made us feel extremely uncomfortable and, frankly, scared for our safety:

The host was working with the audience and asked one lady dead center where she's from
      Lady in front row: guess
      Host: India
Lady in front row: no but same continent
      Host: pakistan
      Lady: no im very controversial
Host: For Petes sake tell us where you're from
Lady: Palestine. [Starts chanting, "free Palestine"]
Entire audience: free, Palestine, free, free Palestine
Host. Are there any Jews in the audience?
My husband and I are the only ones in the balcony that cheered

host asks us for our name and it took everything inside me to keep it together under the lime light like that. He goes on to tell a joke about how his ex-wife left him because he got crabs and that's not kosher ha ha

      Ha ha
      I'm really not laughing

The really unfortunate part is I tried reaching out to their email and give them the benefit of the doubt however they failed to acknowledge any wrongdoings.

I loved this little theatre! Lots of atmosphere. They have a monthly film festival - the Iron Mule Comedy Short Film Festival - I attended with a film of mine. It's a charming cabaret style theatre, with a small but potent bar (the bartender was great as well)! It also has a split upper level and a balcony. It felt cozy and boutique-y. We had a ton of fun!

Split level viewing, margarita in hand!
      Small but powerful bar!

It's $30pp w no drink minimum for an all night variety show with burlesque, dancing, comedy, and even a guy who paints scenes from the acts in the corner and sells them as souvenirs! I've been twice and both times the quality was high. Saw some repeat content on my 2nd visit but enough fresh stuff to keep me interested.

The MC (could argue the star of the show) Richard Castle holds the entire thing together with a potent mixture of bad jokes, improvised crowd work, and public brutalization of hecklers.

Ample bathrooms (a rarity in LES NYC). Only caveat here is seating. They leave a LOT of standing room. If you want to sit, you need to come when the doors open
