The Thrifty Kitty

I love shopping at Thrifty Kitty! The manager, assistant manager, and staff are all so nice and welcoming. They have a good selection of clothes, shoes, handbags, scarves, books, home decor, pet items and lots of fun jewelry and the pricing is very fair. Although the store is a thrift shop, it feels more like a boutique. It is nicely laid out and decorated and they always have a nice seasonal or holiday display at the front of the store. It's such an enjoyable experience just to browse through all the items in the store. They are always accepting donations and I am a frequent donator. The best part about shopping at this store is that all the proceeds go to FAAS (Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter) and it's a good feeling to be helping such a worthy local non-profit.

A thrift store that benefits kitties? Sold!

Went into the Thrifty Kitty to check things out and see what they had. There's a healthy selection of secondhand clothes, some appliances, and unique finds like chess sets and massage guns.

Everything's reasonably priced and it goes toward a good cause - what's not to like?

This great little second hand shop support the local Alameda Animal Shelter. All staff are volunteers. Mostly clothing. Not a ton for larger sizes. They do stock items for pets which is nice. Love stopping by to take a look to support a good cause.

It's mostly clothes & accessories with a few home goods. The store is very clean and organized but I felt the prices are pretty close to retail. It's not a place I would go to find good bargains. I love that all sales help out cats.

Great quality clothes and the staff were excellent! The manager was especially nice, and a volunteer took my things to the register so I had my hands free to shop more!

The Thrifty Kitty is a thrift store operated by Friends of Alameda Animals Shelter (FAAS). they specialize in cat adoptions.

this small store offers books, antiques, women's clothes, jewelry, glassware, etc. in peak condition. everything is displayed expertly, store is uber clean. prices are competitive...

sad, i didn't find anything. i basicly consume but don't collect anything..

The Thrifty Kitty is located where J Couture used to be. I found out about this business through a sponsored ad on Facebook. Friends of Alameda Animals Shelter (FAAS) is the organization operating this thrift store. They have been opened since July 1, which is about two weeks ago. After seeing the ad, I decided to browse and see what kind of items they were selling.

Wow! All their merchandize is beautifully displayed. I am totally impressed. There is an assortment of tops, blouses, slacks, dresses, scarves, women's accessories (jewelry, purses), household items. The Longchamps 6-pc. crystal glasses were nice to look at. However, I have no place in my home for storing them.

Yes, I did see something I like very much - a cream colored canvas tote bag for my shopping needs - and the price was reasonable ($12 plus tax). The bag had my name on it (just kidding) and I was not leaving Thrifty Kitty empty handed. After paying for it, a donation was placed in the birdcage next to the front counter.

I love this thrift store since it is within walking distance from my home. Oh, it is so convenient and a neat place to visit and shop. There will be future visits.

Thrifty Kitty is the best! All the employees and volunteers are so helpful and sweet! I went in looking for accessories to go with my dress for a wedding I was attending, and the volunteers picked out the best jewelry and Steve madden shoes for me! Also found the perfect shirt for my man. Everything is perfectly priced to sell and the best part is all the proceeds go to the animal shelter! Super easy to make a donation and they take everything with a smile. Just call or check out their website! I stop by the Thrifty Kitty to find new clothes, jewelry, kitchen and houseware and whatever catches my eye. Store is always clean and all products in great to new condition. Highly recommend if you're in Alameda!
